Abstract

  The current research was conducted to examine the influence of wage and working environment on the work productivity of the employees of Batik Tulis Gedog UD. Budi Karya Kerek Tuban. The study was a quantitative research. The sample was the whole population, consisting of40 permanent employees of UD. Budi Karya Kerek Tuban. The data were collected from documentation and questionnaires. Multiple linier regression was used in the data analysis.  The result of the study showed that there was a significant influence of the wage and working environment on the work productivity. The wage was the most dominant factor affecting the employees’ productivity.

Abstract

The study was intended to find out the activities of the teacher and students, the learning results and responses of the students after the monopoly game was used in the instruction on Badan Usaha. The study was classroom action research, consisting of three cycles. The subjects were 30 seventh graders of class B at MTs Al-Muttaqin Plemahan, Kediri. The data were analyzed by using quantitative and descriptive analyses. The results showed that the activities of the students and teachers the learning and teaching process by using monopoly game increased. It also found that the learning results of the lesson of the students also increased. The students also showed positive response to the use of monopoly game in the instructional process.

Abstract

The objectives of the present research are to investigate (1) the implementation of  internship, (2) employability of the graduates of the sales major, and (3) relevance of internship and the occupations of the graduates. The sample of the study was 164 students in SMKN I Boyolangu.  The data were collected with observation, interview and documentation.  The data were then analyzed descriptively. The findings of the study show that the implementation of the internship has run well. In terms of employability of the graduates of the sales major in academic year 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, 1.83 % the graduates worked in governmental agency,  5. 49 % became entrepreneurs,  51.83 %  worked in the field relevant with their internship, 10.98% worked as employees at private sectors, 7.32 %  pursued higher education, and 22.56 % got married.  It was also revealed that there was a relevance between the internship and the graduates’ occupations in which 51.83 % of the graduates worked in the similar field with internship.

Abstract

The purpose of the present research was to find out the effect of domestic investment and inflation on gross domestic regional product of East Java. The population of the study was the domestic investment, inflation, and gross domestic regional product of East Java, whereas the sample was the value of domestic investment, inflation, and gross domestic regional product of East Java in 1998-2007. The data collection technique was documentation. Statistical analyses of multiple linier regression and correlation were used in the data analysis. The results showed that the domestic investment and inflation simultaneously had a significant impact on gross domestic regional product of East Java. Moreover, inflation was the more dominant factor affecting the gross domestic regional product of East Java.

Abstract

The current study is intended to examine how the students’ learning results in economics subject matter was after the use of problem based instruction model, and how the teacher managed the class with problem based instruction,  how the students’ activities in the instructional activities, and how the responded the use of the problem based instruction. The subjects were 32 students of class X-A of SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan in the academic year 2010-2011, while the object was problem based instruction (PBI). The result shows that the students’ learning results increased after the use of PBI. The activities of students and teacher also got improved in the three cycles. The students showed positive responses towards the use of problem based instruction.

Abstract

The informal sector has an important role in contributing to development, because the informal sector absorbs labor (especially lower-class society) significantly reducing the urban unemployment problem and increase the income of urban poor. In addition, the informal sector to contribute to government revenue of the city. Informal sector growth is not rapid enough balanced with the welfare of its workers.. As in the Kureksari Waru, in the area there are many cottage industries engaged in the world where industrial blacksmiths were included in the informal sector.

Abstract

The study is aimed to analyze how parental attention and learning facilities influence the eleventh-graders’ learning outcomes in economics subject at Hang Tuah I Senior High School. The research used a quantitative approach of an associative type. The sample consisted of 118 out of 165 students. The data collection techniques used were documentation and questionnaires. The data were then analyzed by using multiple linier regression analysis. The result shows that the parental attention and learning facilities partially have significant effect on the learning outcomes because the presence of parental attention and adequate learning facilities will have an impact on the students’ learning outcomes. Furthermore, the parental attention and learning facilities simultaneously have significant influence on the learning outcomes.

Abstract

The study was set out to compare analytically the pedagogical competence of the certified teachers and that of those are not certified at SMKN Negeri 2 Kediri. The study was comparative research with accounting teachers as the subjects of the study. The data were collected by means of interview protocols, observation sheets, and self-reported questionnaires. The data obtained form interview and observation were then analyzed descriptively, while those of questionnaires were analyzed using independent t-test. The result of the study shows that the pedagogical competence of the accounting teachers who have been certified is better than those who have not.

Abstract

The article is intended to investigate to what extent teaching styles and the students’ learning motivation influence partially and simultaneously the students’ achievement in the accounting lesson. The study sampled 127 students out of 200 tenth-graders of office administration classes at SMK N 1 Surabaya. Data obtained from questionnaires and documentation were analyzed with multiple regression technique. The result shows that both the teacher’s teaching styles and students’ learning motivation contribute a greater influence to the students’ achievement. However, learning motivation has more dominant influence on the students’ achievement than the teacher’s teaching styles do.

Abstract

The study attempts to examine the influence of economics instruction on consumption behavior of eleventh-graders of social science in SMAN 1 Surabaya.  The sample comprised 60 eleventh-graders of social science at  SMAN 1 Surabaya. Data were collected through the use of questionnaire and interview. The data were then analyzed by using simple regression technique. The result of the data analysis shows economics instruction has a significant influence on the consumption behavior by 42.4 %. Other factors excluded from this study affect the consumption behavior by 557.6 %.
