Abstract

ABSTRACT Poverty is a problem that occurred in the Eastern Indonesia. Poverty that occurred caused by the limited access of road network. Indonesian government had been tried to develop the road network in the Eastern Indonesia, and one of Indonesian Government policy on developing the road network was through development cooperation with Australian Government by EINRIP programme. One of the EINRIP programme location was located in Gianyar Regency. Gianyar Regency was selected as one of the EINRIP programme location was intended to open the road access as a main access for villages in the east coast of Gianyar Regency, all at once as a main access for connecting the Western and Eastern Indonesia. It is interesting to examine how the Australian efforts through EINRIP programme on reducing poverty in the Gianyar Regency. Keywords: Access, Poverty, Australia, EINRIP

Abstract

ABSTRACT Human Rights enforcement is emerging as a spotlight in the international arena. To support this effort, United Nations as one of the International Organization bodies that concern about human rights created a mechanism that called Universal Periodic Review (UPR). As one of the UN member states Indonesia also joined the UPR mechanism. This research will see the role of the UN through UPR in increasing the human rights enforcement in Indonesia. The timeframe of this research is from the Indonesia’s first cycle UPR in 2008 until 2012. Research method that used in this research is qualitative-descriptive and using several concepts such as the concept of Human Rights in International Relations and Role of International Organizations. After analyzing, it was found that UN can encourage Indonesia to join UPR mechanism because UN showed its independence as well as the influence of the power of International Organization that owned by UN. After Indonesia joined UPR, UN play its role to increasing the promotion of human rights enforcement in Indonesia through the UPR mechanism. Abstract

ABSTRACT Interaction between non-governmental organization with government in the environmental issues has been developed in International Relations studies. Deforestation issue in Cote d’Ivoire in 2017 has been taken as a case study in this research. Mighty Earth as international non-governmental organization with its Chocolate’s Dark Secret campaign interacts with the Government of Cote d’Ivoire in 2017. The involving of international chocolate companies as main actor on this issue had taken Mighty Earth’s attention. Therefore, Mighty Earth interacted with Cote d’Ivoire Government to grab those companies attention. The interaction between these 2 actors is proven from the different strategy with the same purpose. This research finds that these two actors used complementary model in their interaction. With applying the descriptive-qualitative methods, this research describes the interaction based on comparative advantages. Abstract

ABSTRACT Several sanctions by the United States and the European Union have not stopped Iran's action to continue its nuclear development program.A series of meetings by the P5 + 1 group conducted to solve the Iranian nuclear issue. The meeting resulted in a framework agreement called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The aim of the agreement was to recognize Iran’s nuclear rights. This study is devoted to discuss US national interest on JCPOA agreement with Iran. In orde to answer the research question, this research uses qualitative method with secondary data source which then analyzed using national interest and US grand saretgy concept. The results of this study show the interests for security (vital interest) and interest of maintaining the world order (highly important interest) become the basis of consideration US policy agrees JCPOA greement. Abstract

ABSTRACT China is a country with high poverty and hunger in the world. Poverty and hunger, the majority occurred in the rural area. Post 2001, the Chinese government's strategy to eradicate poverty and hunger are aligned to achieve the first target of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). There are three sub of first target which is referenced achievement such us halve, between 1990 and 2015, the proportion of people whose income is less than $1,25 a day; achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all, including women and young people; and halve, between 1990-2015, the proportion of people who suffer from hunger. This study aimed to describe the Chinese government's strategy to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger to achieve the first target of the MDGs. One of the strategies implemented by the Chinese government is development-oriented poverty reduction program for rural China which is succeeded in making China became the first country to achieve the first target of the MDGs. Abstract

ABSTRACT As a new independent nation, the rate of violence against women in South Sudan is quiet high. One of the reasons for this incident is the legacy of the conflict before the independence of southern Sudan. The high level of violence against women in South Sudan managed to steal the attention of the world including the United Nations. UNDP (United Nations Development Program) works with the South Sudan’s government to address this issue. One of the strategies used is UNSCR 1325 (United Nations Security Council Resolution) program. Addressing the problem of how UNDP's role in helping address the issue of violence against women in South Sudan through the UNSCR program 1325, this study aims to analyze the role of UNDP as an international organization in a domestic issue of a country where the country with the government as its highest capacity has failed to provide protection to its citizens, especially women. The concept which used in this study is the role and function of international organizations and it is not intended to show the success or failure of the program applied. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method using official documents issued by the governments of South Sudan and the United Nations as data sources. Abstract

The issue of migrant workers has always heated up relations between the two countries due to the actions of some officials and the people in Malaysia who were arbitrarily assessed. This study aims to analyze Preventive Efforts in Suppressing the incidence of TKIs with problems in Malaysia in 2014-2017. In this study, the data collection technique that I use is library research. The result show that the efforts that have been made by the Government of Indonesia are to conduct bilateral cooperation between Indonesia-Malaysia through the signing of the MoU. After the collaboration in the form of the MoU, cooperation was also carried out in the form of the coming of Letter of Intent (LOI). This means that preventive factors involve mechanisms, procedures, the process of awareness (socialization) becomes an important part as a preventive aspect to suppress the incident or problem of migrant workers. Abstract

ABSTRACT One China Policy brought a dynamic impact on relationship between United State with People Republic of China (China) and Republic of China (Taiwan). United State government’s has taken an ambiguous outlook. United State Government’s more prefer helping Taiwan to prevent threat from China. A change on United State Foreign Policy are then shown in Obama administration. Under Obama Administration, The United State Government’s tried to re-establish the relationship with China and giving advice on Taiwan to make peace with China related to One China Policy. This research analyzes the driving factors behind the changing of United State Foreign Policy outlook toward China in Obama administration related to One China Policy. Data for this study were collected from various sources including: literary sources, news and reports. This analyzes shows that in there are three factor that changes United State Foreign Policy outlook toward China. Those are China rises and China as a new emerging power, economic crisis in 2008 and Asia regional security issue. Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia has undertaken various technical efforts to fight against HIV/AIDS including to raising global awareness for covering the shortage of funds incurred by the implementation of technical programs. The Global Fund as an international funding institution provides intensive largest funding assistance to Indonesia. However, this is not directly make Indonesia's success in suppressing the spread of HIV/AIDS which tends to increase every year. This study discusses more deeply about the factors that hinder the achievement of HIV/AIDS prevention programs in Indonesia. This research data is obtained from various sources such as scientific research, journals, and reports. In this study, factors that inhibit the success of suppressing the spread of HIV/AIDS in Indonesia are weak institutional and program governance systems, lack of involvement of affected communities in the formulation of programs, and access to HIV/AIDS services that are not integrated with services other general health. Abstract

ABSTRACT   Since the beginning of the 21st century, the issue of foreign aid is become interesting to be studied in the context of international development. Along the development era of foreign aid is now not only limited through military aspects but also to follow the changes and complex global problems. Since the 1990s, Indonesia is a country with people living with HIV / AIDS which is quite high. This is a concern for the government of Australia until the assistance program called the Indonesia HIV / AIDS Prevention and Care Project (IHPCP) which appeared in 1995 and ended in 2008. The program, hereinafter referred to HIV Coorperation Programme for Indonesia (HCPI), which focus on deployment HIV / AIDS in Bali against gays and transvestites. Gaya Dewata Foundation is their counterparts in realizing some of Australia's aid program in tackling the risk of spreading contagious infection of HIV / AIDS for gay and transgender group in Bali. On the other hand, the condition of the transmission of HIV / AIDS on homosexuals in Australia increased in 2008 and 2012 reached 67%. This study examined using the theory of motive foreign aid with scope of problem that focuses only on the motives of the Australian government in providing assistance to Indonesia to deal with cases of HIV / AIDS, especially on gays and transvestites in Bali. Results and how Australia with Indonesia an agreement in the fight against HIV / AIDS is not the orientation in this study because in this phenomenon is only focused on the motives of the Australian government aid.
