Abstract

The quality of Indonesian education remains low in Asia, ranking below Vietnam and 12th out of 12 surveyed countries, while placing 37th out of 57 globally in competitiveness. To address this, strategic efforts through educational supervision are crucial. This descriptive qualitative study, conducted at the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indramayu Regency, aims to analyze academic supervision, managerial supervision, supporting and inhibiting factors, and quality improvement policies for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah supervisors using interviews, observations, documentation, and triangulation. The results indicate that academic supervision is executed through planning, implementation, and reporting stages, while managerial supervision encompasses managing the curriculum, teaching staff, student affairs, personnel, facilities, public relations, and finance. Supporting factors include the proactive roles of teachers, principals, and supervisors, whereas inhibiting factors involve limited supervisor numbers, resistance to paradigm shifts, inadequate facilities, low teacher competency, weak coordination, and suboptimal regulation dissemination. Furthermore, policies to enhance supervisor quality are implemented by strengthening professionalism, career development, and education quality. To overcome existing constraints, this study recommends the implementation of innovative learning, strengthening technological facilities, improving teacher qualifications, and optimizing budgets and scholarships in a targeted manner.

Abstract

This study examines early marriage as a social practice constructed and sustained through patriarchal systems of knowledge. It analyzes how religious discourse, cultural traditions, and power relations legitimize early marriage as a socially accepted norm while proposing a more egalitarian reconstruction of theological knowledge. This research employs a qualitative method using a descriptive-critical approach and Michel Foucault's discourse analysis to investigate how knowledge concerning women's bodies, sexuality, morality, and marriage is produced, disseminated, and regulated through families, religious authorities, cultural leaders, and social institutions. Data were collected through a literature review of scholarly publications, legal regulations, and documented social phenomena related to early marriage. The findings demonstrate that early marriage is not merely driven by economic hardship or limited educational opportunities but is deeply embedded in patriarchal knowledge systems that reinforce unequal gender relations. Dominant discourses concerning sexual morality, family honor, female virginity, and marriage as the primary solution to moral concerns create strong social pressure on young women to marry at an early age. These narratives position women as objects of social control while legitimizing gender inequality through religious and cultural interpretations. Therefore, preventing early marriage requires more than legal reform or economic intervention. It also demands the reconstruction of theological, educational, and cultural knowledge that challenges patriarchal assumptions and promotes gender justice. Such transformation should involve families, educational institutions, religious leaders, communities, and the state in fostering egalitarian values, strengthening child protection, expanding women's autonomy, protecting human dignity, for future generations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the urgency of reorienting the Multicultural Education curriculum in Indonesia in response to global education dynamics, including curriculum decolonization and the strengthening of global citizenship. The changing paradigm of global education demands that the national education system not only emphasize knowledge transfer but also the formation of diversity awareness, social justice, and cultural identity in the context of an increasingly pluralistic society. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method and a library research approach to analyze national and international literature on the multicultural curriculum, educational globalization, and the management of Islamic education. The analysis is conducted by placing the perspective of Islamic Education Management as a conceptual framework in understanding the dynamics of curriculum change. The results show that the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia still tends to be normative and ceremonial, limited to strengthening the value of tolerance without being followed by a more transformative reconstruction of the curriculum, learning strategies, or institutional governance. As a result, multicultural education has not fully functioned as a strategic instrument in building students' global competencies. This study introduces a novel conceptual framework for Integrative Multicultural Curriculum Reorientation that combines the perspective of global citizenship with the value of religious moderation (wasatiyah) in the governance of the Islamic education curriculum. This model emphasizes integrating diversity values, religious identity, and global competency through a systemic approach to curriculum management. Thus, reorienting the multicultural curriculum not only strengthens social cohesion in a pluralistic society but also serves as a crucial strategy for Islamic educational institutions to produce graduates who are adaptive to global challenges and firmly rooted in Islamic values.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has positively influenced various aspects of society, including the indigenous community of Cireundeu Village in Cimahi City, West Java. The community has adopted digital marketing, particularly through Instagram, as part of the transformation of the indigenous village into a cultural tourism destination and an active participant in regional tourism development. This study focuses on community-based tourism in the Cireundeu Indigenous Village, emphasizing the role of digital marketing in developing cultural tourism while fostering an open and sustainable tourism ecosystem. The objectives of this study are threefold: (1) to examine the role of Instagram as a digital marketing platform in the development of cultural tourism in the Cireundeu Indigenous Village; (2) to identify the commodification of cultural tourism that has the potential to increase the community's economic income; and (3) to analyze the management of digital marketing practices implemented within the village. This research employs a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that Instagram-based digital marketing has significantly contributed to the development of cultural tourism in the Cireundeu Indigenous Village and has positively impacted the economic growth of the surrounding community. However, the management of digital marketing activities has not yet reached its optimal level. Therefore, the community should strengthen its digital marketing strategies by expanding its promotional activities beyond Instagram to other social media platforms, particularly TikTok. Furthermore, greater involvement of visitors in sharing their travel experiences is essential to broaden promotional reach and attract more diverse tourist segments.

Abstract

This study highlights tenure conflicts occurring in the Pangalengan coffee plantation area, Bandung Regency, focusing on the ambiguous status of land formerly under HGU (Land Use Rights) or currently managed by PTPN VIII, which has become a source of competing claims and potential socio-agrarian conflicts. Through a socio-legal approach and an analysis of legal pluralism, this study reveals the gap between the top-down normative discourse on agrarian reform and the repressive criminal law practices on the ground. Local farming communities, with limited access to capital, have established informal legal claims based on the history of land cultivation, the productive use of coffee plants, the principle of the social function of land as stipulated in the 1960 Land Law (UUPA), and the hope for land redistribution through the Presidential Regulation on Agrarian Reform. On the other hand, state-owned corporations and law enforcement agencies enforce a formal, positivist-legalistic legal framework to protect assets through legal notices and criminalization under Article 385 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) or sector-specific criminal regulations for plantations. Field data and in-depth interviews reveal an agrarian paradox: the land redistribution program through TORA is hampered by convoluted and sluggish bureaucracy, while the enforcement of criminal law by corporations proceeds swiftly, undermining the solidarity of grassroots movements. The arrests of farmers’ union activists not only cause psychological trauma, poverty, and damage to sustainable communal agricultural systems, but also reinforce the large-scale land monopoly held by a small elite across generations. The state must shift away from a normative security approach and redefine agrarian reform as a model for a more equitable distribution of the benefits of natural resources in order to prevent the escalation of ecological and social crises in the future.
