Abstract

The 1999–2002 amendments to the 1945 Constitution significantly strengthened human rights protections in Indonesia, specifically regarding education and health. Despite these guarantees, indigenous women in the Baduy community face systemic barriers to accessing these constitutional rights. This research employs a juridical-empirical method to examine the legal politics of rights fulfillment in Kanekes Village. The investigation identifies that internal obstacles, rooted in the strict adherence to “Pikukuh” customary taboos, and external factors contribute to the unequal distribution of services. Furthermore, this study explores the religious dimension of Baduy identity, known as “Slam Wiwitan,” and its intersection with Islamic values prevalent in the surrounding Banten region. The results suggest that a collaborative legal politics model that integrates the “Papagahan” peer-learning concept and culturally sensitive health facilities is essential. This study concludes that fulfilling state obligations requires a synergy between national legislation, customary living law, and the religious nuances of the community to ensure rights are realized without eroding cultural identity.

Abstract

This study analyzes how Bandung's religious soundscape—the call to prayer, church bells, and gamelan—shapes spatial identity, religious experience, and intercultural relations in a pluralistic urban environment. Religious sounds here function beyond ritual: they generate social meaning and mediate everyday interfaith interactions. Using a qualitative case study design, the researchers collected data through soundscape observations, audio documentation, and in-depth interviews with diverse city residents. The analysis employed thematic analysis grounded in a posthuman acoustic framework. The findings suggest that religious soundscapes function as shared markers of time, space, and social identity. The call to prayer serves as a collective temporal marker; church bells reinforce historical spatial identity; gamelan embodies a sense of belonging to a local culture. Together, these auditory elements create a collective acoustic environment that fosters intercultural identification in urban space. The study also reveals shifts in sonic meaning driven by technological mediation: digital amplification, recording, and circulation can diminish perceptions of sacredness, transforming some sounds into functional rather than purely sacred sounds. By situating sound as a site of encounter, this research advances contemporary religious studies and the study of everyday religiosity. Its originality lies in integrating post-human soundscape and acoustic perspectives into the study of Indonesian Islam and in centering sound as a medium of religious-cultural interaction in a pluralistic urban context.

Abstract

This article examines the effectiveness of integrating the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model with audio-visual media in social studies to boost learning outcomes and character development among 60 fifth-grade students at Elementary School Cluster 1, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Using a quantitative experimental design with pre-test/post-test control groups, the experimental group (NHT + audio-visual) outperformed the control (conventional methods), achieving a mean post-test score of 82.4 vs. 66.3 (p < 0.05). Observations showed enhanced participation, collaboration, accountability, critical thinking, and social skills. This approach fosters a dynamic environment for cognitive, moral, and social growth, emphasizing teacher training and tech infrastructure.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of social media convergence on the communication strategies of Islamic organizations in West Java, namely Persatuan Islam, Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama. Using a qualitative approach, the research involved field observations, in-depth interviews, and content analyses of social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. Data were analyzed thematically to understand shifts in communication patterns and identity construction. The findings reveal that these organizations have actively adopted digital platforms to disseminate religious narratives, engage audiences, and construct institutional identities. Social media convergence enables decentralized communication, reshaping traditional religious authority and expanding outreach to digitally native demographics. NU and Muhammadiyah emphasize moderate and inclusive Islamic narratives, whereas Persis adopts a more doctrinal yet adaptive approach. All three demonstrate differentiated audience-targeting and platform strategies aligned with organizational values. This transformation reflects a structural shift in religious communication from hierarchical models to dialogic, participatory, and algorithm-aware strategies. Organizational success depends on media literacy, narrative adaptability, and collaborative leadership that integrates traditional and digital actors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing healthcare workers’ compliance with safe injection procedures, focusing on knowledge, attitude, facility availability, and supervision. A quantitative, cross-sectional research method was employed, involving healthcare workers from selected healthcare facilities. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed through inferential statistical tests to identify relationships between variables. The findings revealed that knowledge, attitude, facility availability, and supervision significantly affect healthcare workers’ compliance. The discussion highlights that a combination of internal factors (knowledge and attitude) and external factors (facilities and supervision) forms the foundation of compliance behavior. In conclusion, improving safe injection practices requires comprehensive interventions that encompass competency enhancement, adequate facility provision, and strengthened supervision systems. The study’s contribution lies in providing empirical evidence to inform patient safety policy formulation at both facility and national levels.

Abstract

This research proposes shifting the bayani-burhani-irfani approach to bayani-burhani-maqâsidi. The intellectual history of Muhammadiyah cannot be separated from the methodological dialectic that underlies its movement. One of the most important methodological products that has always served as the basis for ijtihad in the movement's thought and practice is the Manhaj Tarjih and the Development of Islamic Thought. This Manhaj Tarjih offers three approaches to understanding religious teachings: bayani, burhani, and irfani. These three approaches are established as Islamic ways of thinking and form the Manhaj of Progressive Islam. However, since their formulation, these three approaches have been quite controversial. Some scholars consider this Manhaj Tarjih a manifesto of the modernist thought renewal movement in Indonesia. Others, not a few, view it negatively and pejoratively as a liberal method. Moreover, the irfani method is identical to Sufism and is procedurally difficult to operationalize. This paper aims to conduct a rational critique or epistemological evaluation of the Manhaj Tarjih and the Manhaj of Progressive Islam. The argument in this paper is the need for re-examination and re-investigation (conducting a rational critique) of the Manhaj Islam Berkemajuan and Manhaj Tarjih, which are the foundation of its approach. Based on the conclusive description method and discourse analysis techniques, this paper concludes that the bayani, burhani, and irfani approaches need to reconstruct their basic assumptions and methodological steps. The proposal to include integralistic assumptions, the hierarchy of norms and intentions, and the istiqra` ma'nawi method is very relevant. In this regard, this paper proposes to shift the bayâni-burhâni-irfâni approach to bayâni-burhâni-maqâsidi.

Abstract

The Islamic banking industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly, especially after the enactment of regulations such as Law No. 21 of 2008 concerning Islamic Banking. However, Islamic People's Banks (BPRS) face challenges in managing Human Resources (HR), including limited training, a shortage of workers with an Islamic economic background, and challenges in adapting to digitalization. A strategy for developing HR based on Islamic values is crucial to enhancing BPRS's competitiveness in West Java. This study uses a qualitative, descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis related to HR policies in BPRS West Java. The analysis was carried out through a process of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions to obtain systematic findings. The results of this study indicate that HR management is related to the maqasid of sharia, especially in the aspects of hifz al-mal, hifz ad-din, and hifz al-aql, although its implementation still faces regulatory and business challenges. The implemented HR strategy model includes Islamic value-based recruitment, continuous training, performance evaluation based on sharia principles, and HR digitalization, but regulatory alignment and technology adoption remain obstacles.

Abstract

This study analyzes the concept of moral education in Tafsir Madrasi by Oemar Bakry, focusing on Surah al-Baqarah verses 1-63 and 142-249. This study aims to uncover the moral values articulated by Bakry in the Qur'an and their relevance to the contemporary Islamic education paradigm. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive method with a thematic interpretation (maudu'i) approach, supported by an analysis of Islamic education theory. The findings indicate that Oemar Bakry views moral education as a holistic personality formation process that instills the values of faith (iman), trust (amanah), patience (ṣabr), justice ('adl), and piety (taqwa). These values serve as a conceptual foundation for curriculum design, humanistic teaching methods, and the development of moral leadership in modern education. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of an integrative Islamic education paradigm that combines spiritual, rational, and social dimensions, consistent with contemporary value-based education theory. Therefore, the Madrasi Interpretation is not just a classical Indonesian interpretation, but also a conceptual reference for the development of Islamic education that is value-oriented and civilized.

Abstract

The growth in the number of sharia investors and the increase in the market capitalization of sharia stocks in Indonesia reflect a high interest in Islamic-based investments, particularly in the defensive primary consumer goods sector (non-cyclical consumer goods). Amid this trend, it is important to understand the fundamental factors that influence company value, so that investors can make more rational decisions and company management can increase their stock market value. This study aims to examine the effect of Price to Earnings Ratio (PER), Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) on company value, proxied by Price to Book Value (PBV), in non-cyclical consumer sector companies consistently listed in the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) during the 2016–2020 period. The study sample consisted of 15 companies with a total of 75 panel data observations. The analysis was conducted using panel data regression with fixed effects. The results showed that DER had a significant positive effect on company value, whereas PER and DPR did not. Simultaneously, these three variables influenced company value. These results reinforce signaling theory, where a high debt structure can be perceived as an indicator of management confidence in the company's prospects. This research contributes to the growing literature on Islamic finance, focusing on strategic and stable sectors in the capital market.

Abstract

This research is based on the urgency of building synergy between parents and teachers as a determining factor in the successful implementation of the Independent Curriculum, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at MAN 1 Cianjur. The main objectives of this study are to describe the implementation of the PAI teaching module, assess the effectiveness of collaborative relationships between parents and teachers, and analyze the extent to which these interactions influence the successful implementation of the teaching module. The research uses a descriptive, quantitative approach by combining several data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, documentation, and the distribution of questionnaires to students' teachers and parents as respondents. The research findings indicate that high-quality, intensive interactions between parents and teachers have a significant impact on the successful implementation of the PAI teaching module. Open two-way communication, parental involvement in the child's learning process, and consistent moral and spiritual support have been shown to increase students' motivation, discipline, and understanding of the subject matter. In addition, good collaboration also strengthens the integration of religious values in students' daily lives. In conclusion, the stronger and more effective the interaction between parents and teachers, the more optimal the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching modules will be in achieving learning objectives aligned with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of ongoing collaboration between schools and families as a key strategy in improving the quality of Islamic religious education at the madrasah level.
