Abstract

Until recently, Body Mass Index (BMI) has been used as a method for measuring the nutrient state of an individual. Two people having the same weight and height may have different nutrient states. Whenever this occurs, the use of BMI for measuring the nutrient state shall be deemed irrelevant. The anthropometry will be vital in measuring the nutrient state. On the contrary, as the development of IT progresses, so does the improvement of numerical computation. One of the computational algorithms that have been improving is probabilistic reasoning with Naive Bayesian Classification (NBC) as its method. This algorithm is intended to data classification. In this research, the NBC algorithm will be applied for measuring the human nutrient status by using anthropometry data as input system. The result of this research shows that NBC can solve this problem adequately. Research results shows total performance of this system as 93.2%.Keywords: classification, Naive Bayesian Classification (NBC), nutrition

Abstract

Evaluation objectives of inventory information systems at CV. Facilities Telemaxindo was to evaluate the weaknesses of the implementation of internal control, as well as estimating and assessing possible risks that might arise. The research method used is literature study of reference books in the library, and field study consisted of observation, interviews with relevant parties, creating check lists, check the inventory information systems documentation, and testing of inventory application systems. The results are findings of control weaknesses in the implementation of security management, operational management control, boundary control, input control, and output control on the present inventory information system. These weaknesses could pose a risk and if not dealt soon it could hurt the company. The resulting conclusion of the security management control, boundary control, control input, and output control is not running well so that it needs to be improved in accordance with the recommendations, while operational management control has been running fairly well. Keywords: evaluation, information system, inventory

Abstract

Many organizations in the world realize that to maintain the stability of an organization within a lot of turnover in human resources, Knowledge Management (KM) is a matter that cannot be forgotten. Since by storing the knowledge, organizations can continue to distribute the knowledge to people and to develop it into a practice of learning, problem solving, and then at the end it becomes a “Best Practice”. Sharing knowledge becomes the main reference in KM in large and small organizations. By multiplying the activities of knowledge sharing among employees in an organization, it can improve the competitiveness of the organization. All activities in knowledge sharing will be easier if it is formed in a Community of Practice (CoP). CoP can be regarded as a best method. In addition there are many benefits that can be spawned by it, such as in the development, dissemination of knowledge to the development of culture in an organization. The method in this paper uses literature study by describing best practices and case studies in a private bank in Indonesia. By forming the CoP, it is expected to motivate employees to share knowledge for the improvement of organizational performance. Keywords: organization, knowledge management, community of practice

Abstract

Celullar phone nowadays can be used for security system on vehicle. One of the researches that has beendone was using MMS/SMS to tell the owner of the vehicle that the vehicle was being stolen. The research purposewas to make security system on vehicle using AVR as controller and cellular phone to communicate, and the cellularphone that was on the vehicle was dialed directly to the owner informing that was being stolen. The used researchmethod was literature and experimental method. The research result indicated that the security system has responstime ± 20 seconds more faster than the system before (using MMS/SMS) that needs time 2-6 minutes.

Abstract

Customer Relationship Management System (CRMS) Development in order to improve service quality in PT. AJ. Manulife Indonesia is done by comprehending the performance model of the company and the factors that are affecting the company performance improvement and the quality of the decision to be taken by top management. System Dynamic is a method that can be used to stimulate complex systems. System Dynamics approach is expected to build a model of corporate performance that can be used to evaluate the quality of service to customers so that they can make decisions quickly and accurately. This study proves that the model is built with standard models used as changing targets and it can simulate a target quality of service to customers by delivering current and future achievement. Achievement in the future is influenced by the value of achievement of SLA, Response Time, and Defect, where the greater value of control, the greater value of the correction rate so that the GAP will be smaller. Correction rate which is determined in this study was 10%, 20%, and 30% of GAP (CB)

Abstract

The research objective was to evaluate and determine how far the application of information system inventories that are running (including management controls and application controls) have been able to provide reliable information and where time and reduce risk to an acceptable level by the company also provides recommendations for companies in order to minimize the risk that existed at the moment. The research method used “around the computer” is testing and evaluating audit through management control, in performing input and output controls for application systems based on the quality of input supply and output that will produce a report. The results of this study was to determine the inventory of information system applications that use the SS company can provide adequate and reliable information and timely, thus simplifying the management to make sound decisions related to inventory policy. Keywords: audit, information systems inventory, control, corporate

Abstract

GPS was developed by the United States Department of Defense as a reliable means for accurate navigation. The system provides highly accurate position and velocity information and precise time on a continuous global basis to an unlimited number of properly equipped users. By using combined GPS receiver and microcontroller together with radio system, we can design a monitoring system for our vehicles and display the result on the computer. This system consists of a master module that transmits and receives signals from computer and two slave modules to collect GPS data from vehicles. The result of experiment shows that this system is able to track the vehicle on digital map with accuracy as high as 95%.Keywords: GPS, microcontroller, monitoring, RF

Abstract

The existing attendance system still has drawbacks, namely the queue in front of the finger scanner, the attendance data are not integrated with Human Resources Systems, and also the employees who work outside the office cannot get in the attendance system to roll presence. In the other hand, everyone has the mobile devices and all the mobile devices will be embedded a finger scanner in the future. In this paper, it is proposed the absence system using one own device. The finger scanner and coordinate Global Position System (GPS) are used as inputs for the attendance system that integrated with payroll system and human resource management tools. Application base on android platform is developed because the android is the most platforms that have been using in the most mobile devices. Using our proposed methodology, the employee can roll presence using their mobile devices and the do not need to be in queue and the employees who work outside the office also can roll presence. Research showed that proposed methodology can be used for the next generation attendance system.

Abstract

Purpose of this research is to analyze and design a network between head and branch office, andcompany mobile user, which can be used to increase performance and effectiveness of company in doingtheir business process. There were 3 main methods used in this research, which were: library study, analysis, and design method. Library study method was done by searching theoretical sources, knowledge, and otherinformation from books, articles in library, and internet pages. Analysis method was done by doing anobservation on company network, and an interview to acquire description of current business process andidentify problems which can be solved by using a network technology. Meanwhile, the design method wasdone by making a topology network diagram, and determining elements needed to design a VPN technology, then suggesting a configuration system, and testing to know whether the suggested system could run well ornot. The result is that network between the head and branch office, and the mobile user can be connectedsuccessfully using a VPN technology. In conclusion, with the connected network between the head andbranch office can create a centralization of company database, and a suggested VPN network has run well byencapsulating data packages had been sent. Keywords: network, Virtual Private Network (VPN), library study, analysis, design
