Abstract

Technology advances offer many advantages for information and data storage, delivery, access and processing. Technology advances have also placed information as one of the most prominent resources requiring good and proper management. Information technology management in enterprise, although has been implemented, yet has not been managed using structured approach, thus, it is difficult to measure the roles of Information Technology in supporting business process for achieving enterprise objectives. In that way, the aim of this research is to analyze standard model for IT Governance. From the study, it can be concluded that COBIT has a better compromise in its horizontal and vertical dimension compared to the other standards. COBIT has a wider and more detailed IT process spectrum. Keywords: IT Governance, enterprise, business process

Abstract

The purpose of this project is to design a knowledge management application as a media to document knowledge and facility that supported a knowledge sharing culture in Oracle Financial subdivision in Orang Tua Group. The researcher uses 7 first steps method which defined by Tiwana in doing knowledge management application prototype. The knowledge management prototype application modules consist of Wiki page, document library, discussion board, blog, picture library, knowledge base, help desk, frequently asked questions, and surveys. In using knowledge in knowledge base, user will get knowledge through business process, how to use the application, or how to finish some cases. Knowledge management prototype application design as a whole could fulfill user’s needs in sharing knowledge, but still needs continuous improvement for maximal usage. Keywords: prototype design, knowledge management application, knowledge

Abstract

The goal of the research is to design and implement software that can recognize license plates and car types from images. The method used for the research is soft computing using library of EmguCV. There are four phases in creating the software, i.e., input image process, pre-processing, training processing and recognition. Firstly, user enters the car image. Then, the program reads and does pre-processing the image from bitmap form into vector. The next process is training process, which is learning phase in order the system to be able recognize an object (in this case license plate and car type), and in the end is the recognition process itself. The result is data about the car types and the license plates that have been entered. Using simulation, this software successfully recognized license plate by 80.223% accurate and car type 75% accurate. Keywords: Image; Pre-Processing; License plate and Car Type Recognition, Training

Abstract

The main goal of this research is to analyze and design a database configuration of migration and replication in PT Metro Batavia. Research methodologies used in this research are data collecting, analysis and design model. Data collecting method is conducted with library research and direct survey in the company. Analysis method is conducted by analyzing hangar system, migration and reflection process and the available problems. Design method is conducted by designing a prototype for migration process with the implementation of Oracle SQL Developer and replication process with implementation of Oracle Golden Gate. The result of this research is a prototype for configuration of migration and replication process by using Oracle Golden Gate, which can produce two sets of identical data for the purpose of backup and recovery, and also design a simple tool that is expected to help active-active or active-passive replication process. The conclusion of this research is migration process of MySQL database to Oracle database by using Oracle Golden Gate hasn’t been conducted, because Oracle Golden Gate still has bug related to binary log, so database of migration is conducted by using Oracle Golden Gate. However, replication of bi-directional in between database of Oracle by using Oracle SQL Developer can guarantee data availability and reduce work burden from primary database.

Abstract

PFI is a financing institution (multifinance) that since 2004, focusing on consumer finance who want to own a motorcycle. PFI has been utilizing the information system and technology (IS/IT) in the overall business processes both on the system application is currently running (lights on), infrastructure, services, management and application projects planning. The research objective was to give a clear picture to the management about benefits and impacts that can be obtained from the IS/ IT investment both lights on and appplication projects. Researchers propose to analyze the lights on and the application projects is using the New Information Economics (NIE) and uses four of the NIE five practices that are Demand/Supply Planning, Innovation, Prioritization, and Alignment. The research result is an IS/IT strategy investment in the lights on, fulfilling the needs of the IS/IT, the creation of new innovations, as well as priority application projects based on the company’s strategic direction. Conclusions obtained are the company can find out where the lights on should be developed, improved, or even ignored. And to knowing which application projects should take precedence, so the company can allocate future resources to the lights on and the right application projects that supports corporate strategic direction. Keywords: lights on, application projects, New Information Economics (NIE)

Abstract

Finding and retaining the right talent is an important issue for organizations worldwide. The definition of what is the right talent for the organization should be created first to make sure we recruit the right people and then the next question is what should be done after the right talent has been recruited? Skills Management Systems try to answer these questions by providing skills library and skills inventory for the organizations, thus the gap analysis between the available skills and ‘missing’ skills for the organization can be produced. This analysis accompanied with the prediction of skills demands in the future is a good base to develop a hiring policy and also development plans for the current employees. This paper describes the implementation of Skills Management System in a world-class research and development organization.
