Abstract

“Simtjong“ Alley at the Citepus district of Bandung is named after a Chinese Tan Sim Tjong. He and his family lived next to this alley in a very typical and stately house, built on a large property. Around the end of the 19th Century, Tan Sim Tjong moved to Jalan Cibadak, in which he stayed until he passed away (1929), so did his descendants until the fourth generation. As a „peranakan“ (Chinese born Indonesian), Tan Sim Tjong was against the Chinese tradition by supporting the marriage of his son and a Chinese woman with the same family name (she). During his lifetime, Tan Sim Tjong also promoted the improvement of education for the Chinese children in Bandung. In June 2014, one of his descendants rediscovered his delapidated gravestone in the village of Sentiong Cijerah. Hence, a project is proposed for the artifacts in order to maintain the history and local wisdom of the people in Bandung. Keywords: Tan Sim Tjong, Citepus, Simtjong Alley, geneology, “peranakan”, marriage within clan, THHK Bandoeng, tomb Sentiong, Cijerah.

Abstract

The agreement of cooperation among Asean Economiy Community (AEC) has a significant impact on the economy in Indonesia. Imposing AEC policies will increase the flow of services, goods, and investments. Hence, it is necessary to have State Administration Law as licences which cancontrol business activities and make them according to the law. A licence is a state instrument that is preventive juridicial, used as a means for legal administration to control the behavior and activities of society so as to fulfil the legality of law. Thus, licences can only be passed or issued solely by thegovernment as the public legal entity. By means of licences and their administrative sanctions, either in central or regional level, they are able to cotrol business activities in Indonesia by implementing AEC policies. However, the process of having a licence is not supposed to hamper the climate of investment with its complicated procedure, high costs, uncertainty of completion time, insufficient facilities and infrastructure, as well as ineffective and inefficient personnel’s performance. Keywords: licence, administrative sanctions, Asean Economy Community

Abstract

Water necessity is mostly fulfilled from drinking water, which should be in adequate quantity and quality. One of the sources of drinking water is refilled drinking water depots. As stated in health department rules (Permenkes RI Nomor 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010), heavy metal content in drinking water cannot exceed the permitted level, including lead, iron and copper. The aim of this research is to determine whether there is over permitted level of lead, iron and copper content in refilled drinking water from depots throughout Bandung. This research is a descriptive survey with a cross sectional design. Thirty depots have been randomly selected from 150 registered depots in Bandung. Heavy metal contents are analyzed quantitatively with spectrophotometric method. The result shows that 30 samples do not have lead, iron and copper level content above the permitted level. However, some samples show almost a maximal level of heavy metal content which could influence health when consumed in the long termKeywords: refilled drinking water, lead, iron, copper
