Abstract

Nowadays, moral education or character education is seen as something urgent. Moral education in Indonesia is inseparable from civic education. The events that occur in our county hasinspired and reminded the nation of the importance of education for the human character. Multidimensional crisis has affected the material and spiritual development of this nation. In such conditions, it is culture that is often seen to be violent, or corrupt. When there is an opportunity, there will be demonstration of anarchists, or anti- establishment. There is even an imbalance between reason and emotion. It is known that without moral education everything that is done will not bebeneficial to the nation and the country. One of the added values of character education is it can be implemented in real life. The values that have been studied in college are to be realized in life. As stated by Thomas Lickona that character education is character education by itself because itinvolves the aspects of knowledge (cognitive), feeling and action. The question is how moral values can be implemented in our daily lives? Keywords: Character education, implementation, moral values, citizens

Abstract

Car machine failures are vehicle problems commonly found in big cities. Due to lack of knowledge, people sometimes make a mistaken conclusion about the car problems. In this research, asystem was developed to obtain the real cause of such car machine failures by using backwardchaining inference method. The system utilized an expert system approach which was infered from rule-based knowledge. The knowledge was acquired from literature study and expert interviews. Incontrast to forward-chaining method which starts from a set of facts to make a conclusion, backwardchaining method starts from a conclusion to be proved by supported facts. The use of this system is performed simply by answering some questions according to the problems identification. As a result, the system gives conclusions that are collected from car problems generated from inferences. Outcomes of this study may help to overcome car problems, especially for Honda Accord Cielo used as a study case. Keywords: Backward-chaining, problems identification, car machine failures

Abstract

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recognizes Early Childhood Caries (ECC/nursing bottle caries) as a significant public health problem. Oral health care needs vary but encompass all ages. Poor oral health disproportionately affects people living in low socio-economic status environment and rural communities. Oral health may affect a child‟s growth and development, its social behaviour, nutrition, learning and its overall well-being. ECC is 100% preventable, butmost parents often disagree with this statement. The consequences of ECC include a higher risk of new carious lesions in both the primary and permanent dentitions. ECC interferes not only with the quality of life of the child, but also of the family. It affects a childs school performance, and its socialbehaviour. Treatment of ECC is costly, invasive and stressful. Young children with high caries activity may develop caries even during tooth eruption; therefore, it is essential to reach for thepreschool children and their caregivers as early as possible. This research highlights the importance of eliminating the root causes of ECC, which will in turn help children to be as healthy as they can be. Treating dental caries in pre-school children would increase the growth rate and the quality of life ofmillions of children. Keywords: Early Childhood Caries (ECC), quality of life, children

Abstract

Problem-based learning is a teaching method that is different from the traditional learning methods. The emphasis is on the process. In the learning process, in particular the knowledgetransfer process, the lecturer plays an active role in the PBL as well as the students. There are several advantages and disadvantages of this method, starting from the process of identifying to discussing students conducted in a small class with a facilitator. Measures refer to seven jump steps.Theses seven jump steps must be completed in the PBL method. Aspect is an important part of an assessment, while an assessment component should be in line with the concept of PBL. There are two types of assessments, namely formative and summative. PBL method has also been applied in dentaleducation. In addition to pure PBL, there is a hybrid model described by Fincham and Shuler ( 2001). It is a model of "hybrid horizontal" component that is involved in the pre-clinical in the first few years, followed by a clinical component in the next year. Keywords: Problem- based learning, seven jump steps, problem based learning in dentistry

Abstract

Consumer behavior, especially consumer purchases have been subject to change in tha past few years. Consumer purchase includes some types of purchase, and it is an interesting issue to study. Compulsive buying encourages consumers to make purchases in large and excessive amounts thoughnot really necessary. Compulsive buying is influenced by parent-child relationship in which the relationship of parents and children in the family influences consumer purchase decisions from the negative impact of the existing purchasing decisions. Parent-child relationship consists of three dimensions, namely parent-child cohesion, parent-child expressiveness, and parent-child conflict. Parent-child relationship can lead consumers to materialistic orientation. Consumers with Parentchild cohesion have excessive psychological pressure when shopping. Parent-child expressiveness gives freedom to the family members to make an expression when making purchases. Parent-child conflict shapes a consumer anti-social and deviant behavior in their purchasing behavior. Theinfluence of parent-child relationship towards compulsive buying is mediated by self-esteem. Selfesteem gives low self-esteem that makes consumers vulnerable to the purchase of deviant behavior. Compulsive buying is excessively a repetitive purchasing behavior and has become a habit forconsumers. This type of research is explanatory research. The results show that parent-child relationship does not affect compulsive buying simultaneously, whereas the partial test results has found out that parent-child cohesion and expressiveness do not affect compulsive buying, whileparent-child conflict does. Self-esteem, on the other hand, does not mediate the effect of parent-child relationship towards compulsive buying. Keywords: Parent-child relationship, Compulsive buying, self-esteem

Abstract

The population density in Bandung City is rapidly increasing. It is also followed by the increasing number of vehicles. Today, people are able to get new vehicles much easier than everbefore. The public services such as trains, buses, and "angkots" (public transportation) are still uncomfortable to most people for many reasons. On the other side, the streets in Bandung City cannot withstand the increasing density of the vehicles. The purpose of making this simulation by means of this research is to make a measurement tool that can be used to determine the solution to the traffic congestion issue in Bandung City. Making the simulation is done by editing the file osm fromwww.openstreetmap.org, converting, and adjusting traffic lights and vehicles at random into the simulation. By entering the total car-type vehicles at random, the simulation illustrates a significantly high congestion.Kata kunci: capacity, streets of Bandung City, vehicles
