Abstract

This study examines the role of Muslim influencers in presenting high-quality Islamic content and influencer physical attractiveness on social media consumption, with a focus on the mediating effect of influencer likeability. Drawing on Uses and Gratifications Theory (UGT), the research contributes to theory development by exploring how Muslim influencers fulfill the social and religious needs of their audience through engaging content and physical attractiveness. The study targets 396 public university students who actively engage with influencer content on social media. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) confirms that influencer likeability significantly mediates the relationship between Islamic content quality, physical attractiveness, and social media consumption. The findings show that both Islamic content quality and physical attractiveness positively influence likeability, which in turn enhances social media consumption. From a theoretical perspective, this research advances UGT by highlighting how religious and cultural factors shape media consumption in the digital age. Managerially, it provides marketers and content creators with insights on balancing content quality and influencer physical attractiveness to boost engagement and consumption, particularly in culturally and religiously sensitive markets.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of live-streaming on digital customer engagement by focusing on three key communication attributes: communication immediacy, interactivity, and visualization. The research investigates how these attributes influence cognitive, emotional, and behavioral engagement. A quantitative method was employed, using data collected through an online survey distributed to users who interact with brands via live-streaming platforms. The dataset was analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that communication immediacy and interactivity significantly affect all three dimensions of digital customer engagement. In contrast, visualization only has a significant impact on emotional engagement, while its influence on cognitive and behavioral engagement is not supported. These findings suggest that not all live-streaming features equally drive customer engagement. The study contributes to the growing literature on digital engagement and provides practical insights into how brands can strengthen real-time interactivity and emotional resonance to foster deeper consumer involvement.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of work-life balance, stress management, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) integration on employee productivity in Bandung's hospitality sector, focusing on the mediating role of job satisfaction. The study examines 19 five-star and 94 four-star hotels, with a population of 226 general managers, managers, and supervisors. A sample of 183 respondents was determined using Slovin’s formula with 0.05 margin of error, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings confirm that job satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between work-life balance, stress management, and productivity. ESG integration, encompassing social and environmental responsibility, further enhances productivity by strengthening these relationships. This study extends the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, showing that ESG practices serve as additional job resources that reduce stress and improve job satisfaction, ultimately boosting productivity. This research highlights the need for supportive work-life balance policies, effective stress management, and ESG integration to enhance employee well-being and productivity. The study offers strategic insights for academia and industry, supporting sustainable HR practices in hospitality. A holistic approach integrating work-life balance, stress management, job satisfaction, and ESG policies is essential for improving productivity and ensuring sustainability.

Abstract

Digital marketing through brand ambassadors is growing rapidly across various industries, including cloud computing industry. This study analyzes the effectiveness of brand ambassador programs on online purchase intention through brand awareness as a mediator. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was used on 250 Instagram followers of @idcloudhost through simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with IBM SPSS AMOS 22 Graphics software. Results showed a non-significant negative direct effect of brand ambassadors on online purchase intention. However, the indirect effect through brand awareness mediation created a significant positive relationship. These findings suggest that brand ambassadors alone are not strong enough to influence online purchase intention without first establishing brand awareness. This study concludes that PT. Cloud Hosting Indonesia's Brand Ambassador strategy, despite not involving celebrities, is effective in building brand awareness that drives online purchase intention. This research makes a significant contribution to knowledge development, particularly in marketing, by measuring the relationship between brand ambassadors and online purchase intention through brand awareness in the cloud infrastructure industry. This study also offers evaluations and recommendations for similar technology companies to implement brand ambassador programs to enhance online purchase intention through brand awareness.

Abstract

Corruption contributes to rising income inequality by worsening access to social services, education, and economic opportunities. This study aims to examine the relationship between corruption and income inequality. Panel data was used to analyze six ASEAN countries over the period 2013-2022 with the main variables including Gini Ratio, economic growth, government spending, population, tax revenue, government effectiveness, and Corruption Perception Index (CPI). The results show that income inequality and corruption significantly affect each other. High inequality increases the risk of corruption, while corruption worsens income distribution. Other variables such as population, tax revenue, and government effectiveness also contribute to this dynamic. The study highlights the importance of effective redistribution policies and strengthened governance to reduce inequality and corruption, creating greater social and economic stability. Therefore, an integrated and complementary policy approach between reducing inequality and fighting corruption is key in creating cleaner and fairer governance.

Abstract

The rapid development of social media presents opportunities for business actors. Beyond serving as communication tool, social media enables businesses to build relationships and interact with potential customers to expand market reach. One popular feature is TikTok live streaming, widely used as an online marketing strategy due to its ability to reach wider audience. However, wide reach alone does not guarantee consumer trust. This study aims to examine the mediating role of customer trust in the relationship between live streaming shopping on online purchase decisions. Using a quantitative explanatory method, the study involved 238 respondents of Sukabumi City residents, selected through purposive sampling and measured using a differential semantic scale. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM-Amos 22). The results show that live streaming shopping has a direct negative and significant effect on online purchase decisions. Furthermore, the customer trust successfully mediates the relationship between live streaming shopping on online purchase decisions. This means customer trust is the most important factor during live streaming, as it can drive online purchase decisions. Therefore, live streaming based marketing strategies should focus on building positive perceptions, transparency, and credibility to establish consumer trust. Thus, the consumers trust have will drive online purchase decisions.

Abstract

This study analyses the influence of the effectiveness of the Internal Control System (ICS), follow-up on audit recommendations, and the implementation of Government Accounting Standards (GAS) on local government audit opinions, with regional losses as a mediating variable. The study is motivated by a contradictory phenomenon. While the quality of audit opinions has generally improved, regional losses have significantly increased over the past six years, peaking at IDR 2,457,241.66 million in 2023. The research utilises secondary data from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), covering 1,012 observations from city and regency governments during 2022–2023. The data analysis using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS).The study finds that (1) ICS effectiveness significantly affects regional losses but not audit opinions, (2) follow-up on audit recommendations has no significant effect on either audit opinions or regional losses, (3) GAS implementation significantly affects both audit opinions and regional losses, and (4) regional losses do not mediate the relationships between the independent variables and audit opinion. These findings highlight the theoretical relevance of Agency Theory and provide practical and policy implications for improving local government financial accountability and audit outcomes.
