Abstract

Abstract Usually selected aggregate gradation is the mid range of specification. Gradation Index is a new parameter to predict aggregate gradation based on performance of asphalt concrete. The purpose of this study is to formulate the relationship between gradation index and aggregate gradation. The aggregate gradation of asphalt concrete was determined according to Indonesian Highway Specification (2010). Five gradations were selected and made the relationship between sieve size and  percent passing cumulatif to get five equations. The result showed that the models of five aggregate gradation are power function with coefficient of determination greater than 0.9 and the two contants (a and b) can be used to obtain aggregate gradation. Keywords: gradation index, asphalt concrete, aggregate gradation, sieve size  Abstrak Gradasi agregat pada campuran beraspal umumnya dipilih berada di tengah rentang spesifikasi. Indeks Gradasi merupakan parameter yang diusulkan untuk digunakan dalam memprediksi gradasi agregat berdasarkan kinerja campuran beton aspal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merumuskan hubungan antara Indeks Gradasi dan gradasi agregat. Spesifikasi gradasi ditentukan berdasarkan persyaratan yang terdapat pada Spesifikasi Umum Direktorat Jenderal Bina Marga (2010). Lima jenis gradasi dipilih dan dibuat hubungan antara ukuran saringan serta persen lolos kumulatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model untuk lima gradasi agregat memberikan koefisien determinasi lebih besar daripada 0,9 serta konstanta a dan b yang dapat digunakan untuk menentukan gradasi agregat. Kata-kata kunci: indeks gradasi, beton aspal, gradasi agregat, ukuran saringan

Abstract

Indonesia has the potential of natural resources of iron sand that can be used as pavement materials. Iron sand in South Sulawesi can be found in Takalar, Jeneponto, and Selayar with as many as 3.4 million tons of potential deposit. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of iron sand in a mixture of fine aggregate used as a wearing course of asphalt concrete mixtures. The characteristics of iron sand meet the specifications of asphalt concrete wearing course. The use of iron sand in the asphalt concrete mixture lowers the value of stability and increase the value of flow. The results of volumetric analysis showed that the use of sand iron reduces the voids in mixture and the voids in mineral aggregates, but increase the voids filled with bitumen. The Residual Strength Index, after immersion in water for 24 hours at a temperature of 60 ° C, indicates that the mixture with iron sand has a lower resistance to changes in weather, temperature, and water.Key words: iron sand, asphalt concrete wearing course, Marshall's parameters.

Abstract

Abstract            Without significant efforts to reduce the number of accidents which causes deaths, the fatal accidents in traffic road, will follow the prediction of WHO (1999) becoming “the third biggest disease” after ischaemic heart disease and unipolar major depression in 20 years period ahead until year 2020. Since the record system of road traffic accidents in Indonesia is not as same as the record system of international traffic accident, then the data of road traffic accident in Indonesia has to be converted. Based on the results of a simple study in Bandung, these review used conversion factor of 1.25 to convert data of fatal accident in Indonesia. By using this conversion factor, it is found that the number of road accident fatalities in Indonesia is 36,000 persons per year, with the rate of accident is 33 persons per 10,000 vehicles.Keywords: traffic accident, fatal accident, accident rate, data of accident, and conversion factor.

Abstract

Abstract Travel analyses based on activity and location has not been well established in Indonesia yet since its complexity in the process of data collection and the needed resources. Thus, it is needed an effort to develop a method of data collection to facilitate future research. This study aims to develop a method of data collection regarding travel based activity and location with limited resources for application in Indonesia. The result of this study shows that the proposed method is able to collect the needed data using limited technology and resources. Keywords: activity based transportation, travel data collection, travel location  Abstrak Analisis perjalanan berbasis aktivitas dan lokasi belum banyak dikembangkan di Indonesia karena rumitnya proses pengumpulan data dan sumber daya yang diperlukan. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya pengembangan metode pengumpulan data agar mempermudah penelitian sejenis di masa datang. Tujuan studi ini adalah mengembangkan metode pengumpulan data perjalanan berbasis aktivitas dan lokasi dengan sumber data yang terbatas untuk dilakukan di Indonesia. Hasil dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa metode yang diusulkan dan dikembangkan melalui studi ini berhasil mengumpulkan data yang diinginkan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi dan sumber daya yang terbatas. Kata-kata kunci: transportasi berbasis aktivitas, pengumpulan data perjalanan, lokasi perjalanan

Abstract

The bus service in Surabaya is far from adequate and there is a need to evaluate the bus performance from time to time. The purpose of this study is to measure the bus performance on 21 service routes in Surabaya. The performance indicators used consist of frequency, headway, load factor, and travel time. The results show that only load factor and travel time are indicating that the bus service is good, while frequency and headway indicators suggest that the bus service needs to be enhanced.Keywords: service performance, frequency, load factor, headway, travel time

Abstract

Abstrak Permasalahan kemacetan dan antrian di Kota Makassar pada umumnya terjadi pada persimpangan (baik persimpangan bersinyal maupun tak bersinyal), khususnya pada area sebelum dan atau kaki simpang. Dalam konteks pemecahan masalah tersebut, studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis  kinerja  pelayanan pada ruas dan persimpangan Jalan Jend. Sudirman – jalan G. Bawakaraeng – jalan R.A.Kartini.Survei data yang dilakukan meliputi pencatatan volume lalu lintas, jumlah jenis kendaraan, tundaan, pengukuran geometrik jalan. Survei dilakukan pada hari sabtu sampai jumat.Adapun periode waktu survei terdiri dari jam 07.00 - 10.00, 11.00 - 14.00, dan 15.00 - 18.00. Analisis kinerja persimpangan meliputi parameter derajat kejenuhan , panjang antrian, tundaan, tingkat pelayanan, yang megacu pada MKJI 1997.Dari hasil analisa data diperoleh nilai-nilai kinerja persimpangan pada kondisi puncak derajat kejenuhan 0,9,  panjang antrian 72 smp pada pendekat Jl. G. Bawakaraeng tingkat pelayanan  sebesar 7.080,6 hal ini menunjukkan bahwa persimpangan jl. Jend. Sudirman – jl. G. Bawakaraeng – jl. R.A Kartini berada pada tingkat pelayanan E.Kata-kata kunci: kinerja, ruas, persimpangan, lalulintas

Abstract

The Law No. 22/2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation dictates the national road authorities to perform proactively, reactively, and with fullest anticipation with regards to the safety aspects in administering road provision. In relation to this demand, data collection was conducted in Provinces of Riau, East Java, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara through a series of focussed discusions involving road authorities, road traffic and transportation regulators, as well as law enforcement officers. Proactive measures that still fell short to meet the demand were related to Article 8 (stipulation of road’s level of service, optimized utilization of road segments, geometric betterment of roads and intersections, stipulation of road classes, and attainment of road worthiness). Reactive measures that still lag in enforcement were related to Article 24 (improvement of road sections with safety deficiencies, and installation of road signs at damaged road sections or roads with substandard geometric to prevent accidents). Anticipative measures in need of attention were related to Article 230 (road unworthiness as a contributing factor to cause accidents), and Article 273 (poor road conditions that might cause accidents, and in consequence of which, road authorities could face 5 year imprisonment in cases invloving fatalities).Keywords: proactive, reactive, action, road

Abstract

Traffic congestion is a situation when the actual speed of the vehicle is under the free flow speed. This situation resulted in losses for road users, which can be an increase in fuel consumption, time wasted, and environmental pollution. The purpose of this study is to develop a model for the congestion charge for private car users for a variety of time values and the actual vehicle speed in the corridor of Jalan Malioboro, Yogyakarta. Congestion charge is the difference between the generalized transportation cost on the free flow speed condition and the generalized transportation cost on the actual speed condition. The generalized transportation cost consists of vehicle operating costs, travel time costs, and the pollution cost. This study found that the cost of congestion for private car users in Malioboro, Yogyakarta, for respondents with a trip to the Malioboro as a destination is IDR 4,009.15 / trip and for through traffic respondents is IDR 4,224.29/trip. Moreover, the congestion cost model for private car users in Malioboro corridor is an exponential function.Keywords: congestion cost, generalized cost, actual speed, free flow speedAbstrak

Abstract

Abstract Law No. 22 of 2009, on Road Traffic and Road Transport, stated that the fatality data should be complemented with data coming from the hospital. The fatality data reported by the police is the data from the place of traffic accident. Two variables, population and number of vehicles, have been used to predict the number of traffic accident fatalities in many countries. The purpose of this study was to develop a multivariable Artificial Neural Network model for the prediction of fatality in Indonesia. The predictive model was built with input population data of 2007-2010 from the 26 counties and cities in West Java. The study results showed that the ANN three variables with two hidden layer (ANN3-2HL) model is the best-fatality prediction models and prediction of the number of fatalities in West Java Province for 2010 is 3,872 people, which means greater than the number in the data of the Indonesian National Police. Model ANN3-2HL is expected to be used to predict the actual number of fatalities in road safety studies in Indonesia. Key words: traffic, road safety, accidents, fatalities  Abstrak Undang-Undang Nomor 22 Tahun 2009, tentang Lalulintas dan Angkutan Jalan, menyatakan bahwa data fatalitas perlu dilengkapi dengan data yang berasal dari rumah sakit. Data fatalitas yang dilaporkan oleh Kepolisian berasal dari lokasi kejadian. Untuk memprediksi jumlah fatalitas kecelakaan lalulintas di banyak negara, digunakan dua variabel, yaitu jumlah penduduk dan jumlah kendaraan. Tujuan studi ini adalah mengembangkan model Artificial Neural Network multivariabel untuk prediksi fatalitas di Indonesia. Model prediksi dibangun dengan input data populasi tahun 2007-2010 dari 26 kabupaten-kota di Jawa Barat. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa model ANN tiga variabel dengan dua hidden layer (ANN3-2HL) merupakan model prediksi fatalitas terbaik dan jumlah prediksi fatalitas tahun 2010 di Provinsi Jawa Barat adalah 3.872 orang, yang berarti lebih banyak dari data Kepolisian Republik Indonesia. Model ANN3-2HL diharapkan dapat digunakan untuk meramalkan jumlah fatalitas aktual pada studi keselamatan jalan di Indonesia. Kata-kata kunci: lalulintas, keselamatan jalan, kecelakaan, fatalitas
