Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in travel time and the factors that influence the differences in travel time of passengers and baggage movement in arrival terminal at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Makassar. This research is a correlation study, using primary data from direct measurements in the field as well as secondary data derived from monthly reports of the Divisi Operasional Aeronautical Information Service, which is a fixed flight schedule, and from the Divisi Sisi Udara, in the form of data movement on the apron. Processing data in this study used the SPSS software. The analysis showed the smallest time difference between passengers and baggage occurs when using the bus, followed by the use of aviobridge. The greatest difference in time occurs when walking. It can be concluded that the use of the bus is more effective in reducing delays in baggage reception at the arrival terminal.Keywords: travel time, airport, ground handling, arrival terminal

Abstract

Abstract The road transport infrastructure investments have significant impact toward processing industry sector. The high cost of transportation will increase production costs and result in a lack of competitiveness of economic sectors in Indonesia. The purpose of this paper is tried to describe the contribution of road infrastructure investment to Processing Industry Sector in Bandung Regency (by empirical data). The role of infrastructure investment is a way to lower the cost of transportation of goods and increase accessibility among the connected region. The result indicates reduction of freight transportation cost for around 17% after the operation of Cipularang Toll road (+2% of marginal cost). Keywords: freight transportation cost, toll road investment, processing industry sector  Abstrak Investasi infrastruktur jalan akan mempengaruhi sektor industri pengolahan, dimana peran transportasi sebagai fungsi logistik mempengaruhi sektor produksi. Tingginya biaya transportasi dapat meningkatkan biaya produksi dan menyebabkan lemahnya daya saing sektor ekonomi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini mencoba mendeskripsikan kontribusi dari investasi infrastruktur jalan (Jalan Tol Cipularang) terhadap sektor industri pengolahan di Kabupaten Bandung. Peran dari investasi infrastruktur jalan adalah untuk menurunkan biaya transportasi dan meningkatkan aksesibilitas antarwilayah yang terhubung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengurangan biaya transportasi barang di Kabupaten Bandung sebesar +17% sesudah beroperasinya Jalan Tol Cipularang (+2% dari total biaya produksi). Kata-kata kunci: biaya transportasi barang, biaya produksi, sektor industri pengolahan

Abstract

An evaluation of fatigue resistance for foamed asphalt mixture is very demanding since the binder is not continuously distributed on the aggregate surface and this mixtures contains water, the content of which dramatically affects the mechanical properties. This paper discusses the results of laboratory fatigue testingon the foamed asphalt mixtures in which the specimens are generated using three different foamed bitumen properties. Foamed bitumen as the binder was produced at three different foaming water content (FWC) at a temperature of 180oC using a 70/100 pen. The aggregates were mechanically mixed with foamed bitumen using a Hobart mixer. The resulting mixtures were then compacted using a gyratory compactor to generatespecimen with diameter of 100 mm. The specimens were fatigue tested at various stress levels at a temperature of 20oC following a curing period of 3 days at 40oC. Overall, fatigue performance of foamed asphalt can be identified based upon both stress and strain for mixtures produced at FWC 1%, 5%, and 10%.Keywords: fatigue performance, foamed asphalt, binder, foaming water content.

Abstract

Abstract Metro is one of the cities in Lampung Province, Indonesia. It is located between Eastern Lampung and Central Lampung Districs and becomes a junction of two regional highway, i.e. Central Sumatera Highway and Sumatera Eastern Coast Highway. This position produces high traffic flow on route assignment in Metro City. This study aims to observe the impact of trough on road network performance in Metro City. TRANPLAN  is used to model the performance of the network and the result is be compared with the field condition. The results indicate that the potency of daily trough traffic load in Metro City is about 24,99%  from the whole interzones movement. The research also indicate that there is no problem with the performance of traffic network in Metro City for time being (with error margin less than 20%). The problem of traffic jamp is predicted happens in 2013 where V/C ratio of several main roads in Metro City are more than 0,8. Trought traffic load contributes about 21% of V/C ratio of traffic network in Metro City. Keywords: trought traffic, OD matrix, route assignment, V/C ratio

Abstract

Abstract Due to the inadequacy of public transport and high critical level of congestion in Jakarta Metropolitan Area, implementing sustainable transport for urban future transport improvement is necessary. Critical transport situation in Jakarta Metropolitan Area has pointed the importance of implementation integrated transport system to increase people accessibility. This study is conducted to identify strategic issues in integrated transport system at operational and policy levels toward sustainable mobility, transport equity, and door to door service. According to research aim, explanatory case study is used to build an understanding the current situation. The results indicate that integrated transport system is not fully implemented yet and it found a lot of missing links and barriers in integrated transport system attributes. Moreover, transportation planning at national to local levels is not synchronous which have impacted to the implementation of integrated transport. Keywords: integrated transport, transport system, transport policy, mobility  Abstrak Tidak memadainya transportasi umum dan tingginya tingkat kemacetan lalulintas di Kota Metropilitan Jakarta menyebabkan diperlukannya penerapan transportasi yang berkelanjutan untuk perbaikan transportasi perkotaan di masa depan. Situasi transportasi di Jakarta yang telah kritis ini menunjukkan pentingnya penerapan sistem transportasi terpadu untuk meningkatkan aksesibilitas masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi isu-isu strategis dalam sistem transportasi terpadu di tingkat-tingkat operasional dan kebijakan terhadap mobilitas yang berkelanjutan, ekuitas transportasi, dan layanan pintu ke pintu. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi kasus untuk menjelaskan situasi yang terjadi saat ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem transportasi terpadu belum sepenuhnya dilaksanakan dan ditemukan banyak missing links dan hambatan dalam atribut-atribut sistem transportasi yang terintegrasi. Selain itu, perencanaan transportasi di tingkat nasional dan di tingkat daerah tidak sejalan yang berdampak pada pelaksanaan transportasi terpadu. Kata-kata kunci: transportasi terpadu, sistem transportasi, kebijakan transportasi, mobilitas

Abstract

Abstract High mobility of vehicles in Yogyakarta city causes a lot of traffic problems. Therefore, urban railways are needed along with urban buses to reduce congestion. This study was conducted to understand the ability to pay and the willingness to pay of urban rail users and to develop service scenarios to determine the fares. Data were obtained through interviews with the stated preference survey method, that include 4 scenarios with combination of fares, waiting time, and travel time. The results show that the first scenario is the best one. Scenario 1 indicates that 53% students who use Trans Jogja and 50.8% students who use motorcycle will switch to use the train. The probability of all Trans Jogja users and all motorcyclists to use the train is 39.9% for scenario 1 and 59% for scenario 3, respectively. Keywords: urban rail, urban bus, stated preference, traffic congestion.  Abstrak Tingginya mobilitas kendaraan di dalam kota serta dari dan ke Yogyakarta menyebabkan banyak perma-salahan lalulintas. Oleh karena itu perlu dijajaki kemungkinan pengoperasian kereta api perkotaan untuk melengkapi bus perkotaan guna mengurangi kemacetan lalulintas. Sebagai langkah awal, perlu diketahui tingkat daya beli dan kesediaan membayar kereta api perkotaan serta penerapan skenario pelayanan sebagai pertimbangan penetapan tarif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan metode survei stated preference, yang mencakup sekenario pelayanan 1, 2, 3, dan 4 dengan kombinasi tarif, waktu tunggu, dan waktu tempuh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa skenario 1 merupakan skenario yang paling banyak dipilih. Pada skenario 1 ini, 53% pelajar pengguna Trans Jogja dan 50,8% pelajar pengguna sepeda motor akan beralih untuk menggunakan kereta api. Secara umum, pengguna Trans Jogja dan pengguna sepeda motor mempunyai probabilitas untuk menggunakan kereta api masing-masing sebesar 39,9% pada skenario 1 dan sebesar 59% pada skenario 3. Kata-kata kunci: kereta api perkotaan, bus perkotaan, stated preference, kemacetan lalulintas

Abstract

The number of residents who live in the border area of the province of Papua and the Country of Papua New Guinea (PNG) is 129,835 persons or 4.6% of the total population of Papua. Some of these settlements are still isolated and far behind in terms of education, health, and economic and their economic conditions are still below the poverty line. Government efforts to raise living standards through the provision of logistical needs of border communities are still hampered by the difficulty of accessibility that exists in the area. The results of this study indicate that the logistic needs of border communities have not been evenly distributed, and this is not caused by the lack of integration among transportation modes alone. The problems include thelogistics needs which are stopped at one of the modes of service, the occurrence of damage, and goods needed by people do not reach the border areas where the people live. To address these problems, there is a need for strategies and policies to deal with the transportation network system to distribute needed logisticsby optimizing existing transportation infrastructure, accelerating and improving the transportation infrastructure, improving inter-modal coordination, and improving management of transportation logistics.Keywords: border areas, transportation networks, inter-modal coordination, logistics management

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this study is to explore the effect of motorization to the development of urban public transportation in urban areas in Indonesian city in the last decade. The study employs many statistical data regarding motorization and urban public transport. It can be concluded that the motorization will continue to grow, and the existing transport policy should be re-questioned. It roots on the lack of acceptable provision of public transport in term of quality and quantity, but also as a result of high preference on using private transport. The challenge becomes excessive and complex, since there is no appropriate visionary road map for development of urban public transport. In answering this problem, the authors propose an abstract of two sequence approach, namely setting priority in taking side in provision of acceptable mobility for all, and followed with the redefinition of urban transport development by implementing transit-oriented development.Key words: motorization, urban public transport, development, sustainability.

Abstract

Public transport is very important to support community activities. Problems that occur on public transport in the City of Surabaya are the condition of the fleet, infrastructure, passengers, regulators, and operators, including the driver and the company. Collecting data in this study is done by on-board and off-board surveys, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using fish bone and descriptive analysis. Fleet operating conditions show that the frequency of the service is not good, the average headway is greater than 10 minutes, and a low load factor. Reasons for selecting the mode that mentioned most by AC bus users are facilities, safety, and cleanliness. As for the economic bus users, the reasons to select the bus are directly to the destination, inexpensive, and adequate bus driver behavior. To accommodate the needs of the user groups some improvements are needed to the operating fleet, service system, as well as operational and financial management by integrating all existing interests. Angkutan umum sangat penting untuk mendukung aktivitas masyarakat. Masalah yang terjadi pada angkutan umum di Kota Surabaya adalah kondisi armada, infrastruktur atau prasarana, penumpang, regulator, dan operator, termasuk sopir dan perusahaan. Pengumpulan data pada studi ini dilakukan dengan cara on-board dan off-board survey, wawancara, dan kuesionair. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode fish bone dan analisis deskriptif. Kondisi operasional armada menunjukkan frekuensi layanan yang kurang baik, waktu antara rata-rata lebih besar dari 10 menit, dan load factor yang rendah. Alasan pemilihan moda yang paling diperhatikan penumpang pengguna Bis AC adalah fasilitas, keamanan, dan kebersihan. Sedangkan bagi pengguna bis ekonomi adalah langsung ke tempat tujuan, murah, dan pelayanan sopir yang memadai. Untuk mengakomodasi kebutuhan kedua kelompok pengguna tersebut diperlukan  perbaikan-perbaikan terhadap armada yang beroperasi, sistem pelayanan, serta manajemen operasional dan keuangan dengan mengintegrasikan semua kepentingan yang ada.

Abstract

Abstract PT Transjakarta together with the private operators synergizes to increase the feeder bus service in the coverage area around Jakarta. One of them is Lebak Bulus-Senen feeder service, on the 6H Transjakarta corridor service. Based on static and dynamic surveys, the results of this service evaluation show that the number of buses provided is not able to meet the existing passenger demands, which is indicated by the value of the busload factor which shows the number of passenger needs is high, but the waiting time of passengers is greater than the bus arrival time. The number of fleets currently available is also unable to meet the standard services. Based on the travel time, the required bus fleet is 35 units, while in practice only 26 units of vehicles were operated. Therefore a re-plan is necessary by considering the addition of bus unit so that the implementation of Transjakarta Lebak Bulus-Senen feed service is in accordance with the passenger demands and meet the Minimum Service Standard of Transjakarta. Keywords: feeder bus, feed service, waiting time, load factor  Abstrak PT Transjakarta bersama dengan pihak operator swasta bersinergi untuk menambah layanan bus pengumpan di wilayah jangkauan di sekitar Jakarta. Salah satunya adalah layanan pengumpan Lebak Bulus-Senen koridor 6H Transjakarta. Berdasarkan survei statis dan survei dinamis, hasil evaluasi layanan ini menunjukkan bahwa jumlah armada bus yang disediakan tidak mampu memenuhi permintaan penumpang yang ada, yang ditunjukkan oleh besarnya nilai faktor muat bus yang memperlihatkan jumlah kebutuhan penumpang yang tinggi, namun waktu tunggu penumpang lebih besar daripada waktu kedatangan bus. Jumlah armada yang ada saat ini juga tidak mampu memenuhi pelayanan standar. Berdasarkan waktu tempuhnya, armada bus yang dibutuhkan adalah 35 unit, sedangkan dalam praktiknya hanya dioperasikan 26 unit kendaraan. Karena itu diperlukan perencanaan ulang dengan mempertimbangkan penambahan unit bus agar pelaksanaan layanan pengumpan Transjakarta Lebak Bulus-Senen sesuai dengan kebutuhan penumpang dan memenuhi Standar Pelayanan Minimal Transjakarta. Kata-kata kunci: bus pengumpan, layanan pengumpan, waktu tunggu, faktor muat
