Abstract

This research aimed to determine the influence of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) on the students’ discipline in learning civic at grade IV. The method of this research was Quasi Experiment conducted at grade IV. This research used two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Class IV A, as the experimental class, consisted of 30 students and Class IV B, as the control class, also consisted of 30 students. Based on the research conducted, it was revealed that there was a significant influence of implementation of of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) on the students’ discipline in civic subject. The results of the discipline questionnaire for VCT model obtained a score of 84.63. Whereas, the results of the discipline questionnaire for the lecture method was 65.23. Moreover, based on the results of t test in which 0.000 <0.05, it was concluded that there was an effect of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) method on the students’ discipline and the use of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) method was better than the lecture method.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out that the implementation of think pair square to improve students’ learning outcome. This was a classroom action research. The data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes from before the action, cycle I, and cycle II. Before the action only 9  students (56,25%) achieved the KKM, in cycle I increased to 11 students (68,75%) achieved the KKM, and In cycle II increased to 14 students (87.50%) achieved the KKM. Thus it can be concluded that the application of think pair square learning technique can improve students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the students’ ability to write narrative essays and to determine the significant effect of conferencing approach assisted by audio-visual media for grade Vstudents at SD Negeri 26 Arungkeke, Kabupaten Jeneponto. The type of this study was quasi experimental research. The design of this study was a non-quivalent control group design. This study found that the average score of students’ ability to write narrative essays in the control class for pretest was 63.90 and the average score for posttest was 74.52. Meanwhile, the average score of pretest in the experimental class was 59.48 and the average postest score was 80.24. The result of N-Gian score test in the control class was an average of 0.24152, indicating that the learning outcomes of writing narrative essays were low. Whereas, the average score of N-Gain test in the experimental class was 0.4640, indicating that the learning outcomes of writing narrative essays were moderate. After that, the result of T test revealed that tcount 2,283> ttable 0.021 so that Ho was rejected and Ha was received. The significant value of 2-tiled was 0.030 <sig. 0.05; thus, conferencing approach assisted by audio-visual media gave a significant effect on the students’ ability to write narrative essays at grade V SD Negeri 26 Arungkeke, Kabupaten Jeneponto.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the application of student team achievement division (STAD) model assisted by instructional video media to improve students’ learning outcomes. This study utilized classroom action research (CAR) consisting of two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages namely planning, implementating actions, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this study were 21 fifth grade students at SD 5 Gondoharum, Kecamatan Jekulo, Kabupaten Kudus. There were 13 male students and 8 female students in this study. Data were collected through observations, interviews, tests, and documentations. The results of observations revealed that the teacher’s skills in managing learning increased by a percentage of 76% (Good) in cycle I to 87% (Very Good) in cycle II. Meanwhile, students’ learning outcomes in pre-cycle aspects of IPS content reached the completeness for 47.6% (need guidance). It increased in cycle I to 71.4% (good) and in cycle II to 85.7% (good). Moreover, the learning outcomes in pre-cycle knowledge aspects of Bahasa Indonesia content reached the completeness for 42.9% (need guidance). Then, it increased in cycle I to 66.7% (need guidance) and in cycle 2 to 90.5% (very good). Finally, the students’ learning outcomes in the skills aspects in cycle I reached the average of 76.2% (enough) and increased in cycle II to 85.7% (good).
