Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of leadership and Locus of Control on the employee’s job performance with organizational culture as moderator in Rembang Regional Administration Secretariat.The independent variables  that  are presumed to affect the job performance in this study is restricted to leadership and locus of control  with organizational culture as the moderating variable. The data collection in this study was held in February 25th to March 5th 2013, with the civil servant  of Rembang Regional Administration Secretariat as the population that amounts to 234 people.  This study  use proportional sampling, where the random samples are taken of each stratum proportionally.  Samples are taken using proportional methode by distributing questionnaires : 113 questionnaires were returned and  filled correctly by respondents according to filling instruction and 7 questionnaires were not returned. This study using statistical tests including validity test with factor analysis, reliability test using Cronbachs alpha, double regression analysis, and significance test using the coefficient of determinationto prove the validity of hypothesis and  moderation tests. The results of this study proved that model’s ability in explain correctly , the effect  of leadership and organizational culture variable to job performance and moderation interaction of leadership and organizational culture variable ( equation II) is amount 42,7% to job performance . Whereas the model’s ability in explain correctly the effect of locus of control and organizational culture variable (equation III) is amount 31,6% to job performance. Moderating effect test proved that organizational culture has significant moderating effects on leadership to job performance, but not locus of control. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of competency and individual characteristics on the job performance  with organizational commitment as  mediator  in Rembang Regional Civil Service Board. The population in this study is the civil service of Rembang Regional Civil Service Board that amounts to 58 people. This study  use cencuss methode for collecting data , which is  the whole population is taken into account. The results of this study correctly proved that model’s ability to explain correctly , competence variable’s influence , individual characteristic and organizational commitment to job performance  is amounted 53% . Whereas the other’s is amounted 47% as explained by variables outside the data-model. Mediating effect test proved that the effects of competency and individual characteristics on the job performance are not mediated by organizational commitment .   Kata Kunci : kompetensi, karakteristik individu, komitmen organisasional dan kinerja pegawai

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of compensation and carrier development on the job performance  with motivation as  mediator  in Rembang Regional Civil Service Board. The population in this study is the civil service of Rembang Regional Civil Service Board that amounts to 58 people.  This study  use cencuss methode for collecting data , which is  the whole population is taken into account. The results of this study correctly proved that model’s ability to explain correctly , compensation variable’s influence , carrier development and motivation to job performance  is amounted 43,9 % . Whereas the other’s is amounted 56,1 % as explained by variables outside the data-model. Mediating effect test proved that the effects of compensation and carrier development on the job performance are not mediated by motivation .   Kata Kunci: kompensasi, pengembangan karier, motivasi dan kinerja pegawai.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of motivation on job satisfaction, work ability influence on job satisfaction, motivation influence on the performance, the impact on performance and the ability to work the influence of job satisfaction on the performance of the District Secretariat Pati. The analysis tool used is multiple regression, while the questionnaire is used as a data collector. Measurements using a Likert scale of 7 (seven) alternative answers. The research was conducted at the Office of the Regional Secretariat Pati which has a population of 227 employees. Respondents were obtained through purposive sampling criteria that employees have a minimum education level D3 and obtained total sample of 111 employees. Based on the analysis of this study concluded that: (1) Motivation and significant positive effect on job satisfaction. (2) Ability to work have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. (3) Motivation positive and significant effect on the performance. (4) Ability to work has positive and significant impact on the performance. (5) Job satisfaction is a positive and significant effect on the. While mediation tests proved that the variable job satisfaction mediates motivation on performance. Abstract

Work of family conflict often occurs in peoples lives in general. Selection of characteristics relevant to their work and expertise of employees is an issue that can not be ignored in the psychological field of industry. Problems were also experienced by the tax officials who are in KPP Pratama Semarang Candisari and KPP Pratama Semarang Tengah Satu totaling 108 respondents that affect the job satisfaction of employees. Organizational commitment can grow when expectations can be met by organizations working properly, then the work will lead to unfulfilled expectations of job satisfaction (Setyawan, 2008). The test results are partially positive influence between job characteristics on organizational commitment, then there is a partial negative influence between the work of family conflict on organizational commitment, there is a partial positive influence between job characteristics on job satisfaction, there is a partial negative influence between work of family conflict on job satisfaction, and there is a partial positive influence between organizational commitment on job satisfaction. The results showed that the mediation that organizational commitment mediates the effect of job characteristics on job satisfaction and organizational commitment mediates the effect of work-family conflict on job satisfaction. Abstract

Health workers in RSJD Dr. Amino Gondohutama Semarang has a high rate of turnover intention. This condition can negatively affect the development ofthe organization, even some of the figure sreveals that turnover intention is a major predictor of turnover. Interesting problem in RSJD Dr. Amino Gondohutama Semarang is the high turnover intention but not accompanied by decision turnover. The purpose of this research is to analyzethe influence ofindividual characteristics, job stress and job satisfaction on turn overintention, and the relationship between turnover intention to decision turnover. Study sample as many as 166 people set health professionals working in RSJD Dr. Amino Gondohutama Semarang. The sampling technique used convenience sampling. Data obtained using a questionnaire, and then analyzed using multiple regression analysis and a crosstab analysis The results showed that the high turnover intention is caused by age, employment status, job stress, where as factors that decrease turnover intention is job satisfaction. Sex, education, marital status, and years of work no effect on turnover intention. Further more, turnover intention has no impact on turnover due to prestige as a major factor, future security, support colleagues, was unethical when out of work, good career opportunities, incentivesare worth, still under contract, it is difficult to find another job, and familial ties. Abstract

The phenomenon happened in PP-PAUDNI Regional II Semarang indicated that inferiority in career opportunity was not always followed by the lack of organizational commitment. Self esteem may influence this situation. Self esteem could be a moderation factor in the relation between career opportunity and organizational commitment. This study aimed to examine and find out factors that influence career opportunity and the impact of career opportunity on organizational commitment. A hundred respondents of PP-PAUDNI Regional II Semarang were set in this study that applied purposive sampling technique. The available technique for examining and analyzing data included validity test using factor analysis, reliability test using alpha cronbach, multiple regression analysis, t test and moderation test in testing and proving the hypothesis. Result of this study showed the career opportunity was low on the other hand organizational commitment was constantly high. The inferiority of career opportunity belonged to 3 factors namely: the fairness in maintaining career, career system as well as the carefulness of the employers to their employee. The last two factors were the influencing ones on career opportunity submission but the impact were not significant. The influence was about 0, 05. The high organizational commitment was caused by high self esteem. Self esteem was a variable which moderates the relation between career opportunity and organizational commitment. The moderation impacts had strengthen and improved the relation between career opportunity and organizational commitment. The moderation building of self esteem covered all dimension of organizational commitment, the affective, continuant and normative one.   Key words: career opportunity, self esteem, organizational commitment

Abstract

This study examined the effect of disclosure of Operating Profit Margin (OPM), Return On Asset (ROA), Leverage, and Size To Firm Value. The sample in this study is a manufacturing company listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) in span of years 2008–2011. Study sample is as much as 78 companies with 312 observations. Analysis of data using multiple regression analysis to all hyphotesis. The results showed that the Operating Profit Margin (OPM), Return on Asset (ROA), Leverage ratio, and Size have a significant effect to firm value. With Goodness of Fit Test showed that 40,8% Operating Profit Margin (OPM), Return on Asset (ROA), Leverage raio, and given effect to firm value, while the rest equal to 59,2% influenced by others variable which do not check. Abstract

The purpose of this study to test empirically and analyze the influence of Tax Rate Change, Profitability and Liquidity of the Income Corporate Taxes through the DER. This study examined again Azfa research and Hussain (2011) as opposed to Mallikarjunappa and Goveas (2007) and opposed by Sabir and Malik (2012). The difference lies in the study sample and variables used as well as research models. The study was conducted at the manufacturing companies listed on the Stock Exchange for the year 2007-2011 according to data ICMD 2012, there were an average of 47,3% of manufacturing companies who have a DER> 1 and indicated by the thin capitalization practice in an attempt to tax avoidance. This study uses a sample of 456 firm-years observation companies were selected using purposive sampling method. Examination of the relevant literature has been developed to generate a path analysis model. Hypothesis consists of four hypotheses and tested using SPSS 20 program. The results showed that the profitability and tax rate change had significant effect for DER, while the liquidity does not affect the DER but in terms of corporate tax, DER had positive and does not significant affect on it Keywords:  Tax rate change, profitability, liquidity, DER and income corporate tax

Abstract

The objective of this research is to empirically examine about the factors affecting the Composite Stock Index in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The factors are SBI Rate, World Oil Price, World Gold Price, and Exchange Rate of Indonesia Rupiah. The sample of this research is monthly data of the SBI Rate, World Oil Price, World Gold Price, Exchange Rate of Indonesia Rupiah, and Composite Stock Index from October, 2007 until September, 2012. This research uses multiple regression analysis. The result of this research shows that the SBI Rate negatively affect the composite stock indeks (IHSG), while the world oil price and world gold price positively affect the IHSG. But, the exchange rate of Indonesia rupiah is not affect the IHSG. The value of adjusted R square is 0.519%. This means that 51.90% IHSG movement can be predicted by the movement of the four independent variables.
