Abstract

Recent development of marine tourism in Penuktukan Village, Sub district Tejakula of the Buleleng Regency in Bali has been contributed to the coral reef ecosystem. The aim of the research was to determine the coral reefs coverage, coral reef and fishes diversity  inPenuktukan Villages, Sub district Tejakula of the Buleleng Regency. Result of the research confirms that coral reef coverage in Penuktukan was varied from 53 to 56%, indicates human impact to coral reefs ecosystems. The coverage level can be influenced by tourist activities.Based on the observation it is clear that Coral Foliose types were dominant.Diversity index (H’) of coral reefs ranging from 1.754 to 1.814; while the evenness index (E) was ranging from 0.8435 to 0.9468. The observed fish was less than 25 individual.These fishes taxonomically belong to Serranidae,  Lutjanidae,  Letherinidae, Caesionidae, Scaridae, Haemulidae and  Chaetonodae.It was lowest compared to the standard for population in healthy water. The implementation of marine based tourism in Penuktukan Village should be controlled through visitor management and coral reef ecosystem conservation.Keywords: Bali, coral reefs, marine tourism.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify factors affecting the decision making of the tourists’ interest to visit Bhakti Alam. This study was conducted in Bhakti Alam as one of the ecotourism destination in Tutur, Pasuruan. A set of questionnaire was set up and distributes to 100 visitors in Bhakti Alam on August 2016. In this research, to generate information regarding visitor perception, a series of interview was done. Data was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The research result shows that variables of advertising, public relations, personal marketing, and sale promotion have significant impact on the visiting decision to Bhakti Alam. This condition also supported by determination coefficient value as 0.608. It means that 60.84% variables about visiting decision can be explained by decision-making factors, while the rest of 39.16% explained by another variable that is not being tested. Variables analysed with T test to advertising, public relations, personal marketing, and sale promotion each partially have a significant impact to visiting decision. The multiple linear result analysis showed that between those free variables and visiting decision has a strong connection.  The resulting distribution of respondents answer by Likert analysis showed that variable which has the biggest impact started from sale promotion followed by public relations, personal selling, and advertising. While visiting decision more determined by representative location factor, followed by representative condition, access road, price and products. Abstract

Ecotourism development can not be separated from the social aspects of the people living around the tourist sites. One indicator that a tourist location is said to be ecotourism-based is the participation of community in the activities of management. This study aims to determine the effect of variables that exist on the level of community participation in the management of mangrove areas Cengkrong using Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The variables used in this study are: community characteristics, perceptions, norms, patterns of social relationships, and trust. From the research, the variables that have a dominant influence on the level of participation in the management of mangrove Cengkrong is variable of perceptions, norms, and trusts with the value of the effect size, respectively for 0.098, 0.204, and 0.431. While variable of trust has most influence to the coefficient path of community participation with a value of 0.64.Keywords: Ecotourism, Factors of Participation, Level of Participation, Partial Least Square (PLS).

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ritual plant species and types of offerings that are used in Larung Sembonyo ceremonies and to know the community's role in the conservation of ritual plants. Plant diversity and utilization survey were conducted by semi-structured and structured interviews to the informant. The selection of informants was using snowball sampling technique. Data was analyzed descriptively with ICS and FUVs index. The results of the study found 38 species of Larung Sembonyo ritual which is divided into 23 families. Types of offerings are used in Larung Sembonyo ceremony as much as 31 types, each of which has its own meaning. The 10 highest Value Index of Cultural Significance (ICS) of LarungSembonyo ceremonial plant is Oryza sativa L., Oryza glutinosa, Cocos nucifera L., Musa paradisiaca L., Pandanus amaryllifolus Roxb., Piper battle L., Aliumcepa L., Alium sativum L. and Manihot esculenta Crantz. The five highest Family Values Use (FUVs) were occupied by Family Arecaceae, Euphorbiaceae, musaceae, Solanaceae and Poaceae. The higher FUVs the more uses and utilization of these plants in a ritual ceremony Larung Sembonyo. Karanggongso community has indirect conservation efforts on plants that are used for rituals. The conservation efforts were carried out by planting crops in the garden, home yard, even in the woods. The concept of management mostly still uses traditional knowledge. The LarungSembonyo has special value to integrates in ecotourism development planning. Larung Sembonyo has special uniqueness which are able to attract visitor.Keywords: Conservation, FUVs, ICS, Larung Sembonyo.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the tourist motivations for consuming local angkringan street food in Yogyakarta city, Indonesia. We distributed questionnaires to 1,514 domestic tourists from several provinces in Indonesia visiting 42 angkringan spots to determine the significance of five different motivations: cultural experience, sensory appeal, media exposure, excitement and health concern. A Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used to analyze the data. A remarkable finding showed that the items belonging to the interpersonal dimension were not grouped in one factor. The Sensory appeal has the highest level of agreement among the tourists, followed by the cultural experience. The health concern has the lowest level of agreement, which is slightly lower than the excitement motivation.Keywords: Angkringan, Food Tourism, Indonesia, Street Food, Types of Tourist Motivation.

Abstract

Tourism in Samarinda city, East Kalimantan, has been growing significantly and provides opportunities to develop as an alternative economic earning of city government and city dwellers. It is especially important to reduce mining activity and promotes more sustainable economic activity in Samarinda. The aims of the research were to identify the tourism potentials in Samarinda and discuss the opportunities for future tourism development. Research finds that basically tourism in Samarinda city grows significantly, following the growth of tourism in East Kalimantan Province. As a capital city, the basic infrastructure and amenity to support tourism are available in numerous form. There are also tourism attractions distributed in Samarinda city, ranging from natural, cultural and man-made attraction. These provide potentiality for Samarinda city to transform the regional policy in development, with put tourism is one of the main machines for future economic growth.Keywords: mining, sustainable tourism, tropical forest, urban development

Abstract

The aims of this research are to formulate the conservation strategies of lowland Nepenthes based on conservation status analysis, distribution map, and conceptualizing Nepenthes as flagship species for tourism. Research was held on January to October 2015 in Dayak Seberuang settlement areas, West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. Literature analysis was used to identify recent conservation status of Nepenthes. Spatial analysis with open access software QGIS ver. 2.4 was used to understand the distribution of Nepenthes. Descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis was used to analyze people perception about Nepenthes. The results showed that from five lowland Nepenthes species which commonly found in West Kalimantan Province, one of them, namely Nepenthes bicalcarata is categorized as vulnerable (VU), and rest of it was categorized as least concern (LC) based on International Union for Conservation of Natural Resources (IUCN). The status of each lowland Nepenthes in West Kalimantan Province is urgent to improve because of much pressure to its population and habitat. Based on the distribution mapping, each Nepenthes has different preference of habitat. Nepenthes bicalcarata can be found only on canopy cover at peat swam forest, on the other hand, N. gracilis and N. mirabilis can be found in open area like Kerangas or secondary forest. Results of SWOT analysis showed that IFAS and EFAS score in range 4.107-4.086 which means that the conservation strategies of lowland Nepenthes in Dayak Seberuang settlements area are in growth phase to improve the Nepenthes population. Abstract

Hulu Sungai Selatan regency, South Kalimantan, has potentiality to be developed as tourism destinations. It is especially important for local economic development, cultural preservation, and natural resources conservation. The objective of the research is to identify the tourism potentiality in Hulu Sungai Selatan regency. Result of the study shows that Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency has numerous potential tourism objects, ranging from man-made to natural attractions. On the future development, special interest tourism such as nature-based tourism, ecotourism, culinary tourism religious tourism, history and cultural tourism are potentials to be developed. The sustainable principles of tourism practices should be adopted by local government in every aspect of tourism development. It is especially crucial for natural resources and biodiversity protection; while in the same time enhance the quality of attraction and destination.Keywords: ecotourism, Hulu Sungai Selatan, tourism development, tropical conservation.

Abstract

Tourism activity in Trisula waterfall (locally called Coban Trisula) is growing significantly. The environmental management is important to perform the sustainable use of waterfall as tourism attraction. The aim of the research is to identify the ecosystem services of Trisula waterfall. In this study, three indices were calculated, namely Environmental Services Index, Hemeroby Index, and Naturalness index. This study found that the use of lands and natural resources in Trisula waterfall was low compared the upper and lower area. Lower and upper area was used for intensive agriculture and daily needs by local community. Those activities were influencing the environmental services of Trisula waterfall. Management towards sustainable use of Coban Trisula area was required. It is also important and should be able to promote security and satisfaction aspects for tourist. Anthropogenic activities such as plantation activities should be controlled by a persuasive approach to minimize disruption to the ecosystem. There are needs for environmental management to ensure the sustainability use of waterfall resources and its surrounding area.Keywords: sustainable tourism, waterfall management, water conservation.

Abstract

This research aims to determine tourist satisfaction towards service quality which involves attraction, accommodation, accessibility, facility, information, advertisement, and utilities availability in Kediri Regency Tourism Attraction. Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) research method was utilized to determine tourist response regarding tourism attributes. The attributes are mapped according to importance and performance level. Then the attributes are mapped according to its respective quadrant, thus it could be exhibited which variables requiring improvement or further attention. Based on IPA diagram plotting result, Temple of Surowono and Temple of Tegowangi possesses 8 out of 29 attributes, while Gereja Tua Puh Sarang possesses 1 out of 29 attributes requiring service improvement. Attributes in Quadrant I are included in primary priority which is important for cultural tourism. This attributes requires more attention in order to increase tourist satisfaction.Keywords: Cultural Tourism Attraction, Customer Satisfaction, Quality.
