Abstract

Sawahlunto community social activities that have always depended on nature suchas forest management for agriculture and the rapid rate of population growthresulting in the rapid expansion of settlements, leading to loss of habitat andwetlands. The decrease in natural population of Bufo melanostictus resulting balanceof the food chain in the ecosystem becomes disrupted. The study was conducted inJune 2014. Sampling was done by direct survey of the species Bufo melanostictusobtained at the scene, the observer walks along the specified location. If you lookdirectly capture and grab samples. Identification of food frog conducted at theLaboratory of Zoology Biology Education Program STKIP PGRI West Sumatra.The results showed that food frog frogs are generally found in the stomach is aninsect, the type of location I 6, 6 and 5 Family Order, in Area II, as many as 13species, 9 and 8 Family Order, in Area III found as many as 15 species, 8 Familyand 7 of the Order, while the fourth location is found 7 species, 5 and 5 FamilyOrder.

Abstract

Coral reef ecosystem is a unique marine ecosystem and are in the tropics. This study was conducted to determine the growth rate of Pocillopora damicornis, Acropora formosa and Acropora cervicornis in transplantation in the waters of the Teluk Tempurung Kecamatan Batang Kapas Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The usefulness of this study is expected to provide scientific information about coral transplantation as an alternative method to preserve the coral reefs and as a reference for further researches. This study was conducted in November 2013 until March 2014. This research was conducted using an experimental method. In this study, the transplanted corals are three species, namely Pocillopora damicornis, Acropora formosa and Acropora cervicornis. Each coral fragment attached to the substrate, then the substrate is already affixed coral fragments on metal shelves arranged randomly. The results showed that the growth rate of the coral Pocillopora damicornis diameter after four months of its value ranges from + 0.28 mm to + 1.22 mm, diameter growth rate of Acropora formosa after four months of its value ranges from + 0.15 mm to + 0.41 mm and diameter growth rate of Acropora cervicornis after four months of its value ranges from + 0.12 mm to + 0.31 mm. The growth rate of the coral Pocillopora damicornis high after four months of its value ranges from + 1.90 mm to + 3.25 mm, the high growth rate of the coral Acropora formosa after four months of its value ranges from + 1.80 to + 3.00 mm and a high growth rate of coral Acropora cervicornis after four months of its value ranges from + 1.70 mm to + 2.55 mm. The survival rate of the coral Pocillopora damicornis 100 %, Acropora formosa 100 % and Acropora cervicornis 60%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by low yields studying biology students in SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang. It is caused by a number of factors including the learning process in schools tend to be dominated by the teacher. In the learning process of students just listen and record what the teacher, so that students are less active in learning. One way to improve learning outcomes is to use True Type Active Implementation Strategy Against One Chain Biology Learning Outcomes Seventh Grade Students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang. This study aimed to reveal the effect of applying an active strategy completely wrong type of chain to the learning outcomes of students of class VII Biology SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang. This research is an experimental design using a randomized control group posttest-only design. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang 2013-2014 academic year consists of 6 classes. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, in order to obtain two classes of samples with the draw of the obtained class as a class experiment VII1 and VII2 class as the control class. Analysis using t-test with a significance level of 0.05 corelation. The results of the analysis of data obtained t 3:00 while ttable 1.66. This means t count> t table, so the hypothesis is accepted. So it can be concluded that the application of an active strategy completely wrong type of chain can improve learning outcomes in biology students VII SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang.

Abstract

This research is conducted because the result of students in XI class at SMAN 1Lembah Melintang West Pasaman especially in studying biology is low. It is caused by several factors such as, first the stategy that is implemented by the teacher is not interesting, second, the student lack of motivation and interesting to study. The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of examples non examples by using power pointto word students achievement in studying biology in XI class at SMAN 1 LembahMelintang West Pasaman. The design of this research is experimental research by using “Randomized Control Group Posttest only Design”. After conducting this research, the researcher find that the achievement of students in experiment class is higher than control class. The average of students achievement in experiment class is about 76,74 meanwhile control class is 65,56. The result of this reseach find that thitung 2,79 >ttabel 1,67 it means that H1is accepted (the effect of examples non examples by using power point at students achievement in learning biology at XI class in SMAN 1 Lembah Melintang West Pasaman). It can be said that examples non examples by using power point can increase students achievement in learning biology at XI class at SMAN 1 LembahMelintang West Pasaman.

Abstract

Sapling is the young trees have high more than 1,5 m and diameters < 10 cm. knowledge of the saplingis very important because it describes the regeneration of trees in the future. Research aboutcomposition of sapling at buffer zone in palm plantation Kiliran Jao Kecamatan Kamang BaruKabupaten Sijunjung. have been carried out from Juni until August 2014 by using the transect withquadrate plot. The results showed the composition of seedling at buffer zone was 30 species 17families and 110 individuals. The highest individual of sapling at buffer zone was Euphorbiaceae (38individual). The highest relative diversity was Mallotus subpeltatus (20,909%). Species have thehighest relative frequency was Mallotus subpeltatus dan Semecarpus sp. (9,231%). Euphorbiaceae iscategorized as dominant family while the family Anacardiaceae, Annonaceae and Leeaceae can becategorized as a co-dominant.

Abstract

The students’ learning score at class VIII SMPN 3 Bonjol is stiil disappointed that are seen from average of activity test about blood circulation system of human year 2012/2013 which is low score in below minimal pass criteria. One of cause are low the students’ score, because it is least hopes and motivation of student in teaching learning process, the students is least active at class. The purpose of the research is to see the effect of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) with crossword quiz toward the students’ biology score at Class VIII SMPN 3 Bonjol. Kinds of the research are experiment and population is all of class VIII SMPN 3 Bonjol that is register of year 2013/2014 Bonjol. The design of research is Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. SMPN 3 Bonjol still has 2 classes, so giving the sample is done using Total Sampling. Instruments are used writing test with objective test. The date analysis is done with t exam. Based test score of learning biology students which is got average score of experiment 81.79 and average score of control 74.63. the result of data analysis of exam t that tcalculate (3.15) > ttable (1.67) that hypothesis is accepted. Based the result of research can be concluded that the effect of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) with crossword quiz toward the students’ biology score at Class VIII SMPN 3 Bonjol of year 2013/2014 about blood circulation system of human.

Abstract

Module is the smallest unit learning program that systematically arranged, it can used by students independently without guidance of a teacher. The purpose of this study is to produce a module with concept map. The types concept map is picture concept map. The subject of this research is Human Disgetion System for class VIII SMP. This was a development research with a prodecural model. Models and procedure of development was develop with 4-D model, but for something reason this research just done on develop phase. Phases are define, design and develop. This research has been implemented and tested on January 13, 2014 by three teachers and 20 students of class VIII SMPN 4 Lengayang. The results of this study is module with picture concept map on the subject of Human Disgetion System average validity of modules was 87,59 % and very practicality of modul was 90,26 %. Based on the results, this research can be concluded that the development of modules based with picture concept map of material in human disgetion system development subject is valid and practical.

Abstract

Assignment of a teacher was not only teaching in front of class, but a teacher has to able to make learning material for their students so it can improve students motivation. Based on observation in SMPN 2 Rao Kabupaten Pasaman. Learning material used in learning process was text book. The condition of text book is self was broken and it was not enough. Solution of the problem, one of learning material that can be used be the teacher was handout of picture and character. The background of this research was to know validity and practicality of handout based on picture and character for material structure and function of plants system. This research was a development research that used 4-D models. Handout development based on picture and character for material structure and function of plants system was valid and praktis.

Abstract

The background of this study is the students’ less study result in history social knowledge at grade VII of SMPN 6 Pariaman. The students’ less study result is caused by some factors, one of them is the history learning is still centered on the teacher. Students just hear and notice, they are not too motivated in learning history. The teacher totally uses speech model so that they are not active in the learning. One way to solve the problem is by using cooperatif learning model type think-pair-share. This study type is experimental research and this study design is Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population of this research is all class VII grade student of SMPN 6 Pariaman academic year 2013/2014. The taken sample is done with purposive sampling , so it is chosen for VII 1 grade ( experiment class) and VII 2 ( controlled class). The data of this research is the result of student learning which overhelms cognitive competence only. Based on the last test, it can be concluded that cooperative learning model type think-pair-share can improve the learning result of biology toward VII grade students in SMPN 6 Pariaman.

Abstract

Singkarak Lake is currently used for various activities, such as fishing, tourism, Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP), Shower Wash latrine (toilet) and disposal of household waste. Research on the analysis of stomach Pensi (Corbicula sumatrana Clessin) in Singkarak Lake was conducted in February 2013. From the analysis of natural food in the stomach pensi found Phytoplankton, Detritus and 11 genera. The frequency of the presence of natural food that is pensi size <10 mm was Detritus, Staurastrum and Oscillatoria are 1, pensi size is 10-20 mm and Staurastrum Detritus is 1, and the size of> 20 mm was Detritus, Staurastrum and Oscillatoria is 1. The relative abundance were highest pensi size <10 mm is Staurastrum of 18.33% followed by Oscillatoria and Detritus of 16.67%, the size of 10-20 mm is Detritus 25.39%, followed Staurastrum and Cymbella by 12.69%, and in size> 20 mm is Detritus of 32%, followed by 16% Staurastrum. From the analysis it is known that the main food Corbicula sumatrana Clessin is Detritus and Fitoplanton. .
