Abstract

This research was conducted in Gajing Kahean Gunung Maligas Sub District Simalungun Regency, the purpose of this research is to know and analyze The Thrust Factors Teenager In Conserving Kuda Lumping Art In Gajing Kahean Gunung Maligas Sub District Simalungun Regency. This research is Qualitative research which analyzed descriptively, and instrument of data is observation and interview. The theory used in this research is Fungcional theory. In this study of informants there are eight people and three support informant. Sampling technique is Purposive Sampling. The result of the research on the informants explained that The Development of Kuda Lumping Art in the Gajing Kahean from past to now has Experienced a Change in Costume, Musical Instruments and Dance Moves. The Thrust Factors Teenagers In Conserving Kuda Lumping Art is The First is Intern Factor Consisting Of The Young Desire to Follow the Art is Based on Personal will. Secondary From Family is The Urge from The Family to Participate in the Art. While External Factor there are two of Our Friends and Environment. Abstract

Smoking health warning pictures and writings can provide stimuli to smokers resulting in behavioral changes. The theory used in this research is the theory of S-O-R (Stimulus-Organism-Response). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of smoking health warning images on adolescent smoker behavior, the influence of smoking health warnings on adolescent smoking behavior and the influence of smoking health warning pictures and writings on adolescent smoker behavior in Pekanbaru.This research uses quantitative research methods, with data collection techniques, namely through questionnaires. The sample in this study amounted to 166 respondents using the Accidental Sampling method. The chosen respondents were teenagers who were in the age range of 15-19 years who were domiciled in Pekanbaru. The data analysis method used is simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression. Data processing is carried out with the SPSS version 23 program.The results obtained from a simple linear regression analysis in this study are that there are effects of smoking health warning images on adolescent smoker behavior of 22.7% which are included in the level of low influence. The simple linear regression results also showed that there was an influence on smoking health warnings on adolescent smokers' behavior by 37.5% which was included in the level of low influence. And the results of multiple linear regression indicate that smoking health warnings and writings together influence the behavior of adolescent smokers in Pekanbaru. Processed results of 39.6% are included in the category of low level of influence.Keywords: Cigarette Pictures, Smoker Behavior

Abstract

This study aims to determine the socio-economic background of Lepat Bugi trader and the strategy of trader in the confront of competition among fellow Lepat Bugi traders in the village of Danau Bingkuang. Research conducted using qualitative approach method. Informants are chose using a purposive sampling and techniques in data collection by using the techniques of observation, interview, and documentation. Subjects in this study are Lepat Bugi trader that exist in the village of Danau Bingkuang. Informants selected as many as 5 people based on certain criteria. The results of this study indicate that the Lepat Bugi traders has a moderate socio-economic background, this can be seen in terms of income that can meet the needs of his family and life, the ownership of household facilities, and the level of education is low. The form of competition that occurs among fellow Lepat Bugi traders that is healthy and unhealthy competition. The happening competition is how the traders can attract as many buyers and make a profit. The strategy used by Lepat Bugi traders to confront the competition is active strategy, passive strategy, and network strategy. This strategy is very necessary for traders to survive in running their business so that it can be passed on to the next generations.Keywords: socio-economic background, competition, and strategy

Abstract

This study aims to examine partially and simultaneously the influence of investment decisions, funding decisions and interest rates on firm value. Where the independent variables in this study are investment decisions, funding decisions and interest rates while the dependent variable is the value of the company. The sample used is secondary data derived from the company's financial statements in the pulp and paper sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange The sampling method uses purposive sampling. The sample used is as many as 6 companies. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. The results of the study partially show that investment decisions, funding decisions and interest rates do not affect the value of the company. While simultaneous investment decisions, funding decisions and the level of interest there is no influence on the value of the company.Keywords: investment decisions, funding decisions, interest rates and firm value

Abstract

PLN (Persero) is one of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) which is engaged in the supply of electricity, whose existence is greatly needed by the community. The State Electricity Company (PLN) as an important instrument in development, the presence of BUMN in Indonesia is felt very important not only by the government but also by the wider community. So from that PT PLN (Persero) always strives to continually update performance in providing increasingly optimal services, so that the image of PT PLN (Persero) in the eyes of the community will always be considered good and provide good service so as to satisfy the customer.This study uses quantitative research methods, with data collection techniques, namely through questionnaire dissemination to customers of PT PLN (Persero) Bukittinggi raon with a large number of samples of 100 respondents determined using accidental sampling. The analysis technique in this research data uses explanatorystatistics.The results of this study indicate that the influence of service quality and customer satisfaction on the image of the company PT PLN (Persero) Bukittinggi district is positive and significant, because it has a significant value that is smaller than the determined alpha level so that the hypotheses submitted together can be accepted. This is seen from multiple linear regression in this study is equal to Y = 10.197 + 0.429 X1 + 0.510 X2. Meanwhile the constant value of 0.637 means that the contribution of service quality variables and customer satisfaction to the company's image at PT PLN (Persero) Bukittinggi Rayon is 63.7% while the remaining 36.3% is influenced by other variables not included in the research that the author do this.Keyword: Customer Quality, Customer Statisfaction, Company Image.

Abstract

This research was conducted at around the University of Riau, which includes at Jl. Bangau Sakti, Jl. HR.Soebrantas, Jl. Prof. Mukhtar Lutfi and Jl. Elang Sakti with the title Social Economic Society Around the University of Riau Jl. HR. Soebrantas Pekanbaru. Lately, development of the world education in Indonesia shows a progress positive, including in the city of Pekanbaru, this is marked by the increasing number of educational institution especially at the level collage, one of which is the University of Riau which has been established since 1962, in its development the existence of campuses located on the outskirts of the city has led to emergence of various forms of economic activity and has an impact on the condition of the surrounding society, especially in social economic conditions.This study aims to find out what forms of economic aktivity are that same time how social economic confessions of the society around University of Riau. The theory used in this research are the core area theory of John Friedman, while the method usedis quantitative descriptive by using observation techniques and questionnaires. The results showed that from 82 respondents, 51 of them opened businesses in the trade sector and the remaining 31 respondents opened businesses in the service sector, beside that there is a dependency between the society around the campus and campus ativities, where if the campus activities off they also take a holiday. As for the socio economic conditions of the society around University of Riau in the middle level, becausebased on the datait can be seen that themajority of respondents income is Rp.2.500.000- Rp.5.000.000/month that is much as 41 respondents with education graduating from high school which is 40 respondents. While the ownership status of the residence is rented much as 60 respondents and ownership of private vehicles is a motorcycle as much 64 respondents.Keywords: Social Economic, Society, University of Riau

Abstract

This research aims to explain the role of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in supporting the Asosiasi Petani Sawit Swadaya Mandiri to obtain the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification. RSPO is a non-profit association that unites stakeholders from the 7 sectors of the palm oil to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil. The area expansion of Indonesia palm oil faced national and international pro-social and environment Non Government Organization (NGO) which raised black campaign related to social and environment issues. As an environmental organization that also deals with the issue of sustainable natural resource management, WWF participating in assisting independent smallholders to change oil palm management practiced by taking into economic, social and environmental elements. WWF began operations in supporting the Asosiasi Mandiri to obtain the RSPO certification since 2014.Data of this research was obtained from books, journals, articles, official documents and websites that support the hypothesis. The author used individual-group behavior level analyze, and the research are using Constructivism perspective, International Organizations theory and also using concept of Sustainable Development. The writer also did some interviews and observations by observing and taking notes of the indications systematically and directly.The results of this research shows that the WWF has carried out its role as an international organization in supporting the sustainable development agenda in Indonesia at the national and regional levels by strengthening the role of independent smallholders in addressing sustainability issues. The roles of WWF as a motivator, facilitator, donor, and as a partner were mobilized to achieve progress in realizing the vision and mission of the Asosiasi Mandiri to contribute in sustainable palm oil practices and obtain RSPO certification.Keywords : Asosiasi Petani Sawit Swadaya Mandiri, Certification, Palm Oil, Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, World Wide Fund for Nature

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to find out the Dynamics of Candidation that occurred in the regional head elections in Riau Province in 2017-2018 in particular was the dynamics of candidacy of the pair Syamsuar and Edi Afrizal Natar Nasution in obtaining the support of the Polytic Party. The main problem in this research is in the process of candidacy of the National Mandate Party, the Prosperous Justice Party, and the National Democratic Party due to the election of party external cadres to be promoted to become candidates for regional heads. This study uses descriptive analytical methods with a type of qualitative research. The type of data used in this study are primary data and secondary data obtained through direct interviews with informants who are considered to know and understand the problems in the field.Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that in the selection process of candidates by several political parties in Riau Province, it can be concluded that the candidate screening model can be said as having an Inclusive model. In the process of who selecting candidates some political parties are said to be political parties. has an exclusive model, while in the process of explaining where the dominant candidates are selected then from several political parties using the centralized method, and in the process of determining candidates made by several political parties to determine the candidates to be carried by the party the party uses the election model that was carried out by the elite of the central party of the political party concerned.In addition, there are dynamics of candidation that occur when political parties cannot prepare their party's internal cadres in the selection process of candidates to face political contestation. Then the party's external cadres who have better abilities than the internal party cadres will take the opportunity and get support to represent the political party.Keywords: Candidacy, Political Parties,Dynamics

Abstract

This research aims to explain the role of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) on implementing World Conservation Strategy (WCS) in Riau in 2010-2015. WCS is a world strategy for making a sustainable-development condition,by doing both development and conservation. WCS also a cooperation program beetwen IUCN, UNEP, WWF, Fao and Unesco.Method used in this research is qualitative research. This research uses secondary data obtained from books, journal, internet, news and other media. The author apply group behavior as the research level analysis which is World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).This research analyzed its data by using Pluralism perspective and Green Politisc Theory by Eckersley. Also, writer did an interview to konservator in WWF and do an observation on field.The result of this research shows that WWF already carried out its role as practitioner of WCS by doing conservation in various places in Riau. Though WWF is not center in development program, WWF also helps rural people to make a living while still concern environmental stability.Keyword: WCS, conservation, conservator, practitioner, sustainable-development,cooperation.

Abstract

This research on treatment using electric current has the purpose of knowing the reasons why people choose this treatment and to find out how the public response to treatment uses electric current. The location of this study is located in Sido Mukti Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency. This study uses quantitative methods with descriptive analysis, data collection techniques in this study are random sampling or taken randomly and data collection obtained based on reality in the field through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The research respondents consisted of 78 people. The theoretical framework used is response theory according to Soemanto. From the results of the study the majority of respondents agreed with the treatment of this electric current, this was demonstrated by the enthusiasm of the community towards some of the analysis that the author did, by looking at the economic situation which was divided into three groups in the form of low, middle and upper economic groups, based on the treatment experience of the community, especially Sido Mukti village who went to medical treatment, experienced several complaints such as getting bored medical treatment, cost factors, and efforts to get the cure forbthe disease. Besides seeing the mechanisms, procedures, and benefits, the treatment using electricity can be used as an alternative treatment especially for the people of Sido Mukti Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency.
