Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of firm size and corporate governance on earnings management in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The ratio of firm size used as an independent variable is the natural logarithm of total asset (ln total asset). Corporate governance ratios used as independent variables are managerial ownership, proportion of independent board of commissioner and audit committee. While the earning management ratio used as the dependent variable is discretionary accrual. The method used to observe the effect of corporate size and corporate governance on earnings management using multiple linear regression.The data used in this research are secondary data, financial report and annual report annual report. The data listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for 5 years from 2011-2015 period. Sampling is done by purposive sampling, which is used is 6 companies. Data analysis using multiple linear analysis, t test, f test and coefficient of determination test. The data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS 21.The results of this study indicate that the variable firm size partially (t test) has no effect the earnings management, while the variable corporate governance effect on earnings management in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Simultaneous test results (F) show the effect on the firm size and corporate governance on earnings management on food and beverages companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.Keywords: firm size, corporate governance and earning management

Abstract

This research was conducted at Bank Nagari Pekanbaru branch while the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of customer relationship management and perceived quality on customer loyalty in Nagari Bank Pekanbaru branch. Customer Relationship Management and Perceived Quality are dependent variables (X1X2) while Customer Loyalty is the dependent variable (Y). the problem in this study is that the products and services offered by the Bank Nagari Pekanbaru Branch do not match the wishes of the customers, thus giving rise to customers who are not loyal to the Bank Nagari Pekanbaru Branch. The sample of this study was taken as many as 100 respondents from the population calculated using the Slovin formula. Data obtained from the results of the questionnaire and then processed to then be tested with statistics through the SPSS program. From the results of the tests carried out shows that Customer Relationship Management and Perceived Quality have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty at the Bank Nagari Pekanbaru Branch.Keywords: Customer Relationship Management, Perceived Quality, and Customer Loyalty

Abstract

In Pekanbaru city, especially in Sail District, the number of seasonal market has increased significantly. It has given both positive and negative effects to the society. The positive effect is that it makes people easily get access to go shopping and fulfill their daily needs. Moreover, the price of goods in the seasonal market is cheaper than that in the usual traditional market. On the other hand, the negative effect which occurs is that the arbitrary opening of the seasonal market has reduced the function of the traditional market. Furthermore, it usually causes traffic jam because the seasonal market is opened in the wide field and the vendors sell their goods near the roadside. As a result, it disturbs the traffic stream and makes the road users uncomfortable.According to the Market Office of Pekanbaru, the seasonal market is included as a traditional market. Therefore, it is also ruled by Pekanbaru regional regulation number 9/2014 about the management of traditional market, shopping center, and supermarket. In doing research about the management of seasonal market by Market Office of Pekanbaru in Sail District, the researcher used Gorge R. Terry’s theory about management. He states that there are four components of management; they are planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. The technique that is used in this research is descriptive qualitative technique which uses observation to explain and prove the data of the research.The management of the seasonal market’s development nowadays is relatively disappointing. The management only includes collecting the data related to the existence of seasonal market. Indeed, the action to relocate the vendors from the seasonal market to provided public traditional market has not been done.Keywords : Management, Seasonal market

Abstract

This research was conducted at Taman Alam Mayang Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is to know how many local workers working in Taman Alam Mayang and how many job opportunities exist in the vicinity, knowing the contribution of Alam Mayang Tourism Park to the socio-economic Community Public perception of Taman Alam Mayang. The topic of focus of this research is the contribution of Taman Wisata Alam Mayang to the socio-economic surrounding community. The samples in this study amounted to 50 people. The authors use quantitative methods and use simple random sampling techniques. Data instruments are observations, polls and documentation. From the research conducted, the authors found that 98% of Alam Mayang's parks hired the surrounding community. For working time, 98% of respondents also said that there is no authority in employee work time. Employee working hours as stipulated by the park organizer Alam Mayang. 44% of respondents stated that Alam Mayang Tourism Park is a good contribution to the economically incapacitated community. 44% of respondents stated that Alam Mayang Tourism Park provides assistance to the community. 92% of respondents stated that Alam Mayang Tourism Park has never contributed to the preservation of the environment around the tourist attractions. 84% of respondents stated that Taman Alam Mayang is always showing the character of Riau Malay culture. The research also found that public perception of nature park activities is positive. It is known from the 84% respondent response score that has received positive benefits from Taman Alam Mayang tourism activities. Keywords: social perception, socio-economics

Abstract

This paper submitted to qualifies for bachelor’s degree of sociologist. With title “The Influence of Student Discipline Against Student Achievement of SMAN 1 Benai Kuantan Singingi District”. This research proposed to determine the influence of student discipline against their achievement. The students discipline could be seen based on the indicator of student achievement at school and their discipline at home. There are sub-indicator of student discipline at school is seen by their presence at school, time they arrived at school, done the homework, follow the lessons in school, and adhere to the school rules. While the sub-indicator of student discipline at home is seen by the regularity in learning, time allocation for study and doing homework at home. Student achievement is seen by the average value obtained on student report cards while sitting in class XI. This research is using quantitative descriptive method to examine the taken issue. Sample which be used on this research is 56 respondents out of 244 students. Sampling is using proportional random sampling. Data collection techniques were used are observation, questionnaire and documentation. And also present the results of processing data in tabular form. Theories used on this research are conformity, differential association, social control and achievement motivation. Based on this research, the influence of student discipline against the student achievement of SMAN 1 Benai is less influence. This is caused by for good achievement not only could be reached by discipline factor but also many other factors which have to met such as motivation, intelligence and others.Key words: Discipline, Achievement, Student of SMAN 1 Benai

Abstract

This research describe the foreign policy of Indonesia toward Tiongkok dominations in conflict at the South China Sea in 2012-2016. South China Sea are one of high seas in the world that have big potency in transportations, natural resources and economic interest. South China Sea are located in South East Asia region and have border with six countries such as Indonesia, malaysia, Filiphina, Vietnam, brunei Darussalam and China. Since 1972 China have a claim about the South China Sea and its make a conflict between China and the member of ASEAN.The research method used was a qualitative with descriptive as a technic of the research. Writer collects data from books, encyclopedia, journal, mass media and websites to analyze the foreign policy of Indonesia toward Tiongkok dominations in conflict at the South China Sea. The theories applied in this research are realisme perspective with national interest concept.The result shows that foreign policy of Indonesia toward Tiongkok dominations in conflict at the South China Sea are Indonesia have a use peacefull diplomacy in conflict in South China Sea, Indonesia Government use a non intervence proncipall, Indonesia use affirmations guidline Code of Conduct and Declaration on the Conduct (DOC) of Parties in the South Tiongkok Sea and Indonesia have a potimalization Asean Regional Forum roles in conflict South China Seas.Key words: policy, conflict, Diplomacy and South China Sea

Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. Eka Sari Lorena “ESL Express”  Pekanbaru, as for the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of system quality, information quality, and service quality to costumer satisfication at PT. Eka Sari Lorena “ESL Express” Pekanbaru. System quality, information quality, and service quality as the independent variable (X1X2X3) while the costumer satisfication as the dependent variable (Y). The problem in this research is the sale of room service of PT. Eka Sari Lorena “ESL Express” fluctuated in the last few years. The research sample was taken of 100 respondents of the population was calculated using the Slovin formula. The data was getting from the questionnaire and subsequently processed to then be tested with statistics through SPSS. The result of research indicates that for t test, system quality,information quality, and service quality partially have a significant effect on customer satisfication. And the result of F test indicates that system quality, information quality, and service quality simultaneously have a significant effects on customer satisfication.  Keywords: System Quality, Information Quality, Service Quality, Customer Satisfication

Abstract

Pekanbaru City Government has the authority to regulate its own area, including the residence category of boarding houses. Pekanbaru City is the Megapolitan City as the Capital of Riau Province with a population of more than 1 million. The role of the Pekanbaru City Government is needed to organize boarding house management, so as to create order, control and control in the licensing mechanism of boarding house management. But in reality, boarding houses in Pekanbaru City do not have their own legal basis. This happens because the City Government of Pekanbaru has not been maximized in managing the management. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the arrangement of boarding houses in Pekanbaru City.The purpose of this study was to determine the governance of boarding houses in Pekanbaru by the city government. This governance can be seen from the processes, regulations and relationships between institutions that are interrelated in managing the boarding house management.The concept of the theory I use is governance according to Cagin. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. In collecting data, the writer uses interview and documentation techniques.The results of the author's research is that governance by the Pekanbaru City Government has not worked optimally. This can be seen from the Housing Control which includes Licensing, Arrangement and Ordering conducted by the Pekanbaru City Government. In the form of Licensing, there are several things that have become obstacles for the establishment of boarding houses, namely: the enactment of the Draft Regional Regulation on Regional Spatial Planning, only the enactment of the Permit to Establish a Temporary Building since 2016 ago, but in the imposition of the hotel tax base the boarding house category has been in 2011 For the Structuring itself there are 2 types, namely the arrangement carried out by the boarding-related owner of the establishment and operation of the boarding house, then the arrangement is carried out by the City Government based on the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW). The last one is Law Enforcement, this is done by the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) based on the existing Public Order (Trantibum) principle. Then the writer also looked at the relationship between institutions in carrying out their respective duties and functions that were good enough. Keywords : Governance, Boarding House, City Government

Abstract

One of the important assets owned by the organization can not be separated from the performance of employees. To obtain good performance, it is necessary to improve employee motivation. In developing the organization, people often focus on how to develop the business while the development of human resources is still less attention. A good leader will certainly create a comfortable environment and motivate employees with the aim to work morale to work and provide maximum performance. Work motivation is an important factor to obtain good performance.This study was conducted with the aim to determine what factors affect employee motivation and what factors are dominant influence employee motivation in Tourism Office of Youth and Sports District of Meranti IslandsThe method used in this study is a quantitative method using statistical formula to help analyze data obtained from the field. The data in this study was obtained by spreading questionnaires on 29 respondents who became samples and then processed to get the results. The results of this study concluded that: 1) factors that affect the motivation of work is the factor of satisfaction and maintenance factor. 2) the most dominant factor affecting the work motivation of employees at the Department of Tourism Youth and Sports District of Meranti Islands is a maintenance factor.Keywords : Work Motivation

Abstract

Breastfeeding special room is one of the government programs to increase Exclusive breastfeeding and to support high maternal mobility. Provision of Breastfeeding Special Room program is written in Riau Governor Regulation No. 109 of 2015. The regulation affirms that the government provides protection to mothers in providing exclusive breastfeeding to their baby and enhances the roles and support of families, communities, Provincial Governments and the private sector to exclusive breastfeeding.Therefore, to raise the awareness of mothers about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, one of the ways that can do is to provide a room that can support the mother to breastfeed comfortably and privacy. But the results show that the implementation of this policy implementation has not run maximally. Although regulations have been issued on the obligation of every public facility to provide a special room for breastfeeding mothers in Riau Governor Regulation No. 109 of 2015, but the application of Special Provision of Breastfeeding in the field is still very low and has not been supervised by the government.Suggestions for related institutions, improvement of socialization activities to the policy objectives and improving supervision on the provision of breastfeeding special room in public facilities, especially in Pekanbaru City and crack down on public facilities that have not yet provide special room for breastfeeding.Keywords: Implementation, Breastfeeding Room, and Place of public facilities.
