Abstract

This study discusses the Development Strategy for Salai Patin Processing Business in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This study aims to: (1) to analyze the strategy in developing salai patin processing business in Kuantan Singingi Regency, (2) to find out the factors that influence the strategy for developing salai patin processing business in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This type of research is qualitative research. There were 6 informants in this study, and one key informant. The results of this study are: (1) the strategy for developing a salai patin processing business in Kuantan Singingi Regency has fulfilled a good aspect, because it has carried out planning, implementation and supervision efforts in terms of coaching and assistance to farmers. And a SWOT analysis was carried out to identify each internal factor (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and obstacles) in the strategy for developing salai patin processing business in Kuantan Singingi Regency. (2) the factors that influence the development strategy for the salai patin processing business are the poor management of the fishery group and the processed salai patin processing products are still unable to compete in marketing. The research suggestions are: (1) the role of the government as a policy maker can monitor or supervise smoked fish processing groups so that they comply with the group's organizational principles. Conduct training for salai fish processing groups on how to manage groups that are good and right for the sustainability of the group and common goals; (2) processors of salai patin products located in Kuantan Singingi Regency should expand their market to develop their market share both inside and outside Riau Province. Abstract

Adolescent smoking behaviour is currently experiencing a drastic increase. Data shows that West Sumatra is one of the cities that has the highest number of teenage smokers, where this study aims to determine the relationship between exposure to cigarette advertising and cigarette sponsorship on the prevalence of adolescent smoking behaviour in Padang City with 5 schools being the object of research which happened to have been given counseling on the dangers of smoking from the surrounding health centre. This study used quantitative methods with a cross sectional approach. Data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate with chi-square test and smoking prevalence and multivariate and validity and reliability tests to see the feasibility of the data. The results of the study there is a picture of exposure to advertising resulting in adolescents smoking as many as 58 students and cigarette sponsorship 80% of students support. As well as the correlation between exposure to cigarette advertising on adolescent smoking behaviour in Padang City with a p value of 0.000 (OR 3.086 (1.477-4.476), 4.631 (1.761-6.397), 5.690 (3.949-8.596)) and cigarette sponsorship with (OR 4.250 (1.674-10.787) and 1.619 (1.199-2.186)). While based on multivariate results with a POR value of 3.956 there is an influence of exposure to cigarette advertising on adolescent smoking behaviour. Abstract

This research will discuss the efforts of the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency, abbreviated as BP2MI, in improving the safety of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) with Malaysia in the 2019 to 2022 period. This research concentrates on the task force unit under the auspices of BP2MI, namely the Riau Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Center (BP3MI). This research is theoretically constructed using a neorealism perspective and is supported by role theory according to KJ Holsti. The formulation of all arguments, data, facts, and theoretical framework in this study uses a qualitative description method. This study also uses groups as a level of analysis. The results of this study are that BP3MI Riau as the Task Implementing Unit of BP2MI has made various efforts to improve PMI security with Malaysia both before, during and after PMI has worked. BP3MI has coordinated with all parties in resolving problems experienced by PMI. The efforts made by BP2MI through BP3MI Riau can be seen to what extent it has implemented Law no. 18 of 2017, and its efforts in dealing with problems based on existing case studies. Abstract

This study discusses the role of UNAIDS in suppressing the spread of HIV and AIDS in Thailand. HIV and AIDS are viruses that threaten the immune system and can cause death. HIV and AIDS has been declared a global epidemic by WHO. Thailand is one of the countries in Southeast Asia with the highest HIV prevalence rate in Southeast Asia. The HIV epidemic in Thailand has ended, but HIV prevalence in key groups is still very high. This is what makes UNAIDS help Thailand with the programs it has made through the PCB (Program Coordinating Board). This study uses a qualitative method, with data collection techniques through library research which originates from a number of literature related to the problem under study. This research uses the perspective of Pluralism and International Organization theory. The results of this paper found that UNAIDS cooperated with several UN international organizations, the Thai government, Thai NGOs. UNAIDS became an instrument by helping Thailand achieve the 95-95-95 fast-track program and the Joint Program On AIDS With Key Populations. There are several efforts to suppress HIV in the Joint Program, namely providing PreP treatment to young people, upholding human rights and gender equality, and assisting with program funding. The role of UNAIDS as an Arena is to hold national and international meetings with stakeholders in Thailand and policy advocacy. Abstract

In Pekanbaru there is a land conflict involving the community and the government, the community disagrees with the ownership of their land in the public interest. The community opposes this land conflict by reporting it to Commission I of the Pekanbaru City DPRD. The theory used in this study is that the role of the government is in accordance with its functions, including: 1. As a facilitator, local governments can accelerate development through improving the attitudinal environment, which is related to improving licensing and service procedures, as well as establishing areas to strengthen the arrangement of spatial dimensions in development . 2. Negotiations can measure the government's role in negotiating or negotiating can be seen from the efforts made such as identifying problems, seeking and gathering information from each in conflict. 3. Mediation of conflict control by means of mediation is carried out if both parties in conflict agree to appoint a third party as a mediator. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews and documentation. This research was conducted in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The results of the study show that the process of implementing land consolidation for the Tenayan Raya Ring Road has been carried out optimally, because the government plays a role through participation, negotiation and mediation. The obstacles faced by the Pekanbaru city government in solving consolidation problems are partly due to the lack of public knowledge about the purpose and benefits of land consolidation. Abstract

Pekanbaru city is a business center in Riau province, therefore many companies invest in Riau province by then placing their big office in Pekanbaru city as their regional head office. This is of course a great opportunity for the city of Pekanbaru because these business activities will require facilities and meeting rooms and lodging. The development of the hospitality industry is currently growing rapidly, apart from being a place to stay, hotels are also used as meeting places. Of course, the hotel industry is growing rapidly, because they offer excellent and dynamic services. The first impression of the whole hotel can be seen from the tidiness and cleanliness of the rooms. Room attendant is a janitor who has responsibility in terms of maintaining cleanliness, tidiness, comfort and completeness of guest rooms at the hotel. A room attendant must be able to manage the rooms that are his duties and responsibilities, because good and bad rooms depend on the quality of the room attendant. Of course, in carrying out their duties, room attendants must work in accordance with directions and regulations which are commonly referred to as standard operating procedures. To improve his quality as a room attendant, a room attendant must comply with standard operating procedures that are used as a reference in carrying out his job of cleaning the room. Because the orientation of the application of standard operating procedures is to provide satisfaction to guests. Abstract

This research discusses the efforts and actions taken by the European Union in solving the Irish Border problems after the UK left the European Union or Brexit. The Brexit Referendum left problems related to cross-border interaction between the Republic of Ireland which is a member of the European Union and Northern Ireland which is in the territory of the United Kingdom. The Irish border is the only land border that the United Kingdom has. Efforts made by the European Union as a supranational organization that oversees the European region are related to policy making and regulation establishment as a solution. This research is based on the theory of the Role of International Organizations. The level of analysis of this research focuses on the level of state analysis which lies in how the state plays a role in responding to and taking foreign policy. Data collection was carried out using the document analysis method which was reviewed through references from books, journals, websites, and other references relevant to this research study. The results of this research indicate that the European Union's efforts to resolve the issue of the Irish Border after the Brexit Referendum is by implementing the Protocol of Ireland / Northern Ireland which contains regulations and policies agreed upon by the United Kingdom with the European Union and the Republic of Ireland while maintaining the principles of the Good Friday Agreement or the Belfast Agreement. Efforts to implement the Protocol of Ireland / Northern Ireland as a solution to the Irish Border problem began with a Backstop Policy proposal which found no solution. In order to maintain regulatory changes from the implementation of the Protocol of Ireland / Northern Ireland, the European Union continues to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the protocol on the Irish Border. Abstract

The communication strategy that has been implemented by the Tourism and Culture Office of Rokan Hulu Regency in promoting tourist destinations in Rokan Hulu Regency has not implemented optimally. This can be seen from the many tourist destinations, there are only four tourist objects that can attract many tourist to visit and contribute to lacal revenue. To see the communication strategy that has been carried out, the purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the strategy of the Tourism and Culture Office of Rokan Hulu Regency in installing communicators, messages, media and targets to promote tourist destinations in Rokan Hulu Regency. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The informants in this study came from two elements, namely local government and tourists. The selection of informants used a purposive technique with the criteria of informants being people who know best about the implementation of strategic communication in promoting tourist destinations in Rokan Hulu Regency and people who have known and visited tourist destinations in Rokan Hulu Regency. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study indicate that strategic communication carried out by the Tourism and Culture Departement of Rokan Hulu Regency in promoting tourist destinations has not gone well. The appointment of Bujang and Dara Rokan Hulu as brand ambassadors in promoting tourist destinations has not been fully able to lift the very many tourist destinations in Rokan Hulu Regency. The message strategy implemented has been going well, it's just that the content of the messages conveyed is not good yet, because there is still a lack of information provided regarding other supported tours. The media selection strategy used is appropriate, but the management of social media as a promotional medium is not good, so that many of the target groups do not choose social media as promotional media. The strategy in setting targets is also considered appropriate, namely by making observations and developments based on data on tourist visits. Keywords: strategy, communication, tourist destinations

Abstract

Receptionists have an important role in the hotel world, especially in receiving and welcoming guests, therefore the authors are interested in conducting research on the implementation of check-in services at The Zuri Pekanbaru Hotel, because the hotel is a 4-star hotel in Pekanbaru, the authors also want to know the Implementation of Services Check-in by the receptionist at the hotel is in accordance with the SOP (Standard Operational Procedure) check-in. based on this research the authors collect data through interviews, observation and documentation. And the results of this study the authors found that the implementation of check-in services at The Zuri Pekanbaru Hotel was quite good but still imperfect because there were still employees who did not carry out their duties based on existing SOPs, this was due to a lack of manpower, resulting in less receptionist meticulous at work due to being overwhelmed in handling busy check-in guests, there is also the attitude of the receptionist who is not friendly towards guests and also because of the inflexible working hours of employees. Abstract

The city of Dumai has always been plagued by flood problems until now, the coverage of flood areas is still spread throughout the city. For this reason, a Dumai City BPBD strategy is needed so that flood problems can be overcome. Extreme weather such as high rainfall is a trigger factor for flooding. The floods that occurred in Dumai City from 2019 to 2021 have made people always worry about flood disasters. This study intends to formulate the Dumai City BPBD strategy in flood disaster management and the efforts of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in handling it. The research location is in Dumai City, precisely at the Dumai City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) on the basis of the consideration that floods often occur in this area. This study uses the theory of strategy put forward by Fred R. David, namely strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation that enables an organization to achieve its goals. Using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results showed that the strategy implemented by BPBD Dumai City in the form of program activities, namely disaster prevention and preparedness services and disaster victim rescue and evacuation services had not run optimally in flood disaster management. One of the obstacles in the implementation of the disaster management program is the limited budget and minimal human resources in the field. Then, the condition of the Dumai City area has mostly shallow river areas so it is very prone to natural disasters in the form of flooding, especially during the rainy season. Of the various forms of strategy carried out also serves to increase public awareness and preparedness towards disaster. Keywords: Strategy, BPBD, Mitigation, Flood, City of Dumai
