Abstract

One of the factors that affect the health of the workforce in employees can be in the form of physical and psychological disorders, including work stress caused by various factors including workload, work routine, bad organizational roles, economic problems, work environment. Every person who works will receive a load of what is done.The purpose of this research is to find out the factors related to the work stress of nurses in the emergency installation room and the intensive care unit. This research uses descriptive research with a cross sectional approach, the sampling method uses stratified random sampling technique, and uses a questionnaire instrument as a measuring tool. The sample of this study used 42 respondents consisting of 21 in the emergency room and 21 nurses intensive care unit room. Based on research in the emergency room, 14 respondents (66.7%) experienced heavy workload, 12 respondents (57.1%) watched work routines, 11 respondents (52.4%) had a bad organizational role. 13 respondents (61.9%) had a heavy workload, 10 respondents (47.6%) did not support the work environment, 10 respondents (47.6%) had family problems, 10 respondents (47.6%) had economic problems. 10 respondents (47.6%). It is hoped that hospital management can motivate nurses in the emergency room and intensive care unit to minimize stress. Keywords: Causes of work stress; emergency nurses; and ICU nurses

Abstract

Boarding school is school that has a higher demand in terms of personality development, character development, and the inculcation of life values when it compared to a non-boarding school. The many demands and activities could cause several problems for students, both physical and psychological problems. One of psychological problem that might be faced by students is stressful. This study aimed to determine the description of stress in boarding school students. The design of this research is literature review. Research article search was conducted through the electronic database Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar with keyword students stress and stress boarding school by the period of 2016- 2020. Based on 10 research articles, it was found that 2 studies showed the majority of students attending boarding school in the normal category, but 8 studies found that the majority of students had stress which shows a moderate level. Stress of students in boarding schools can be influenced by many factors. Thus, good stress management is needed to increase the value of education and decrease the impact of stress. Abstract

Online nursing laboratory skills is a learning model of practice that facilitated using online learning platforms which aim to deliver nursing laboratory skills for students. The purpose of this study is to investigate nursing students' perceptions of the implementation of online nursing laboratory skills during COVID-19. This study employed quantitative research method with descriptive design. Sampling technique used was total sampling with 401 respondents. Data was collected using Google form questionnaire which spreaded through email and WhatsApp groups. Data analysis for this study used univariate analysis that describes variable investigated in this study. The results of this study showed that the majority of respondents mostly in age 20 years old (126 respondents, 31.4%), the gender most of respondents are female (370 respondents, 92.4%), the majority of class programs is regular program (378 respondents, 94.3%), and the majority of generation is 2019 regular program it is 141 respondents (34.7%). In the general, student perceptions of online nursing laboratory skill is satisfied enough (89.8%). The result of perception obtained on the subvariable method is good category (85.5%) and media is also got good category (83.0%). Researchers recommend that for future studies can investigate variables on one particular subject.Keywords : Online nursing laboratory skills; students’ perception; nursing; pandemic COVID-19

Abstract

The smoking behavior of parents in the house can cause various diseases for active and passive smokers (people around smokers), especially infants and toddlers. The purpose of this study was to describe the smoking behavior of tau people who have children: babies and toddlers. The method used is descriptive using a retrospective approach with the number of respondents, namely 230 parents who have aged 0-5 years. The sample was obtained using accidental sampling method. Methods of data collection by filling out a questionnaire. The results showed that parents who have babies (35.6%), toddlers (45.7%), pre-school (18.7%), parents who have education (father), did not complete elementary school (1, 3%), elementary school (10.4%), junior high school / equivalent (30.1%), high school / equivalent (43.9%), tertiary education (14.3%), knowledge of parents about children's health: infants and toddlers are good (6.5%), sufficient (28.7%), lacking (64.8%), knowledge about smoking is good (77.8%), sufficient (21.3%), less (0.9%) ), type of cigarette smoked, kretek (%), filter (%), others (%), location of family members when smoking, regardless of location when smoking (66.1%), paying attention to location when smoking (33.9%) , the number of family members who smoke in the house regardless of location when smoking, is only 1 person (76.3%), 2 people (20.4%), 3 people (3.3%), light smokers (11.2%) ), moderate smokers (41.4%), heavy smokers (47.4%). Many parents have the habit of smoking near babies and toddlers even though the level of parents' knowledge about the dangers of smoking is good. Abstract

Mental disorders is syndrome of behavior patterns that are clinically meaningful and directly related to distress orsuffering and can cause disabilities in one or more of human life functions. This study aims to determine therelationship between stigma and people’s attitudes towards mental disorders in West Sidomulyo Village. This studyuses descriptive correlation design and cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 38 respondents chosenbased on inclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire thathas been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis used is fisher exact test. The results showed thatp value =0,009 (p < 0,05), which means that there is a significant correlation between stigma and people’s attitudes towardsindividuals with mental disorders. There is a significant relationship between stigma and people's attitudes towardspeople with mental disorders. The lower the stigma of society towards people with mental disorders, the more positivethe attitude of society towards people with mental disorders, on the other hand, if the stigma of society is high, theattitude given by society to people with mental disorders will also be negative.Based on the results of this study, it ishoped that nursing staff, especially community mental nurses, can understand the condition of people with mentaldisorders and contribute to society regarding the stigma of mental disorders by providing health education andappropriate information for the community regarding people with mental disorders.Keywords: Attitude; Mental disorders; stigma.

Abstract

Academic stress is a condition in which a student is unable to cope with the pressures and demands received while in a school. It elicits a different response to each individual. One such response is to the social interactions that are formed in each of these individuals. This study aims to investigate the relationship between academic stress and peer social interaction of first-year students. This study used a descriptive correlative research design with a cross sectional approach. Sample of this study was 133 respondents which selected using total sampling techniques. Data was collected using DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scales) questionnaires and social interaction questionnaires. The analysis used were univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi Square test. The results of this study showed that the majority of students experienced moderate stress as much as 55 (41.4%), and most had good social interactions with 74 (55.6%). In addition, results of Chi Square test showed that there is a significant correlation between academic stress and peer social interaction in first-grade students with p value (0.005) < alpha (0.05). The study results depict that students mostly able to overcome problems their experienced as well as pressures received. Therefore, it does not impact on their social interactions among other students.Keywords: Academic Stress, Social Interaction, Students

Abstract

Nursing professional education is the process of students becoming professional nurses. Students must have selfefficacy to achieve goals and face future challenges. This study aims to describe the self-efficacy of nursing profession students towards competence during online learning. This study used a descriptive design with a sample of 104 respondents who were taken using a total sampling technique. The analysis used is univariate analysis. The majority of respondents are 23 years old (69.2%), the gender of the majority are women as many as 92 students (88.5%), employment status is not yet working 102 people (98.1%), additional learning methods are discussions with friends as many as 72 students (27.9%) . The results showed that 63 students (60.6%) had moderate efficacy at the KMB/KGD stage, 32 students (62.7%) at the maternity stage, 27 students (52.9%) at the pediatric nursing stage. The efficacy of the high level dimension is that there are 53 students (51%) at the KMB/KGD stage, 27 students (52.9%) at the maternity stage, 31 students (60.8%) at the pediatric nursing stage. The efficacy of the medium strength dimension is that there are 52 students (50%) at the KMB/KGD stage, 27 students (52.9%) at the maternity stage, 28 students (54.9%) at the pediatric nursing stage. The efficacy of the generality dimension is high, namely there are 64 students (61.5%) at the KMB/KGD stage, 27 students (52.9%) at the maternity stage, 29 students (56.9%) at the pediatric nursing stage. The majority of students have moderate self-efficacy during online nursing professional practice. Keywords: Nursing profession; self efficacy; stage.

Abstract

The incidence of dysmenorrhea based on WHO is very large, namely more than 50% of women of reproductive age experience dysmenorrhea and peaks in their early 20s, namely in the late teenage age range and causes the inability to carry out daily activities for 1 to 3 days each month. The factors that influence dysmenorrhea are age at menarche, length of menstruation, family history, nutritional status, and exercise. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in late adolescence. This study uses descriptive correlation. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Nursing, Riau University with 229 samples taken using random sampling technique with inclusion criteria. The measuring instrument used is an online questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used is a univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. This univariate study found respondents who experienced primary dysmenorrhea as many as 88.6%, normal age of menarche of 90.4%, a normal menstrual period of 82.5%, had a family history of 54.6%, nutritional status risk of 53.3%, exercise 3-5 times per week with a duration of >30 minutes 94.3%, bivariate results showed there was a significant relationship between family history and primary dysmenorrhea (p=0.01) and there was no significant relationship between age at menarche (p=0.147), duration of menstruation (p=0,270), nutritional status (p=0,632), exercise (0,647) with primary dysmenorrhea. Based on the results of this study, the researchers concluded that the factors of age at menarche, duration of menstruation, nutritional status, and exercise did not have a relationship with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea, while family history had a relationship with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea as evidenced by statistical data with a p-value <0.05.Keywords: Affecting factors; dysmenorrhea; late adolescence

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between approach breastfeeding problems and breastfeeding method. Methods: The design in this study used a descriptive correlation withapproach cross sectional approach breastfeeding, with a total sample of 60 breastfeeding mothers who were taken based on inclusion criteria using accidental sampling techniques. The analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis, using the chi-square test. Results: The majority of breastfeeding was exclusive breastfeeding 32 respondents (53.3%), the majority of breastfeeding problems that were most often found in the first week were flat / immersed nipples as many as 31 respondents (51.7%), swollen breasts by 30 respondents (50%), Breast milk does not come out / a little as many as 36 respondents (60%), except for blisters / sore nipples, red breasts and pain, the majority occurred at week 2-1 months as many as 18 respondents (30%) and 20 respondents (33.3 %). The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant relationship between breastfeeding problems and breastfeeding, it was found that the nipples were flat / immersed p value (0.001)<(0.05), swollen breasts p value (0.029)<(0.05), nipple blisters / wounds. p value (0.018)<(0.05), red breast and pain p value (0.010)<(0.05), breast milk did not come out / little p value (0.029)<(0.05). Conclusion: Breastfeeding problems experienced by mothers are related to the success of mothers in giving exclusive breastfeeding. Suggestion: Health workers, it is hoped should prevent and overcome early breastfeeding problems experienced by mothers so that mothers can successfully provide exclusive breastfeeding.Keywords: breastfeeding problem; breastfeeding.

Abstract

Breastfeeding mothers who understand the importance of breastfeeding for their babies will try to increase or facilitate their milk production. This study aims to analyze the knowledge and behavior of breastfeeding mothers in increasing milk production in the work area of Payung Sekaki Health Center. The design of this research uses is quantitative with descriptive analytic design with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 90 people taken through purposive sampling method. The analysis used is univariate analysis. Respondents are in the range of early adulthood (20-35 years) as many as 54 people (60,0%) the majority of the respondents last education was tertiary education as many as 39 people (43,3 %). Most of the respondent are not working as many as 53 people (58,9%). Most of the respondents have children 1-3 people as many as 46 people (51,1%). Most of the respondents have a malay ethnity of 36 people (40,0%). Overall, 90 respondents have breastfed (100%). Some 50% respondents have good knowledge, and the majority of respondents (58.9%) have positive behavior. The results of the crosstabulation of knowledge with the behavior of breastfeeding mothers, it shows that mothers who have good knowledge of (25.6%) have negative behavior in increasing breast milk production, while mothers who have sufficient knowledge of (20.0%) have positive behavior in increasing milk production, and mothers who have sufficient knowledge less than 7.8% have negative behavior in increasing milk production. Breastfeeding mothers have good knowledge by having negative behavior in increasing breast milk production. Keywords: Knowledge, behaviour, and breastfeeding
