Abstract

Flakes was one of the breakfast cereal products favored by the public, because it practical in presentation and  high nutrient content. The content of jackfruit seed flour such as carbohydrates and protein which was high enough, so it could be combined with added corn flour as a source of fat and fiber. The purpose of those research was to obtain the best ratio between the jackfruit seed flour and corn flour  towards quality of flakes. This research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications.  The treatment performed were BJ0 (jackfruit seed flour 100%), BJ1 (jackfruit seed flour 90% : corn flour 10%), BJ2 (jackfruit seed flour 80% : corn flour 20%), BJ3 (jackfruit seed flour 70% : corn flour 30%), and BJ4 (jackfruit seed flour 60% : corn flour 40%). The results of chemical analysis and sensory then selected the best treatment was the treatment BJ4 (jackfruit seed flour 60% : corn flour 40%) with moisture 4.17%, ash 2.96%, fat 2.12%, protein 9.26%, carbohydrate 81.48%, and crude fiber 3.19%. Overall to result of sensory test preferred by the panelists with descriptions of pale yellow color, flavorful corn, corn taste, crunchy texture without the added of  milk, and rather than soft texture with the added of milk. Keywords: Flakes, jackfruit seed flour, corn flour.

Abstract

The strategy already worked in management Forest City Pekanbaru not yet give the maximal result. It can be showed from less developing of the potency in forest city. The strategy should be support coherent management and give the best the result, other ways the strategy can not defined the actor in order to building with effective. The aim of this research to determined the main strategy management of this forest city based on the participation of the all side. The method in this  research use AHP method (Analytical Hierarchy Process). The result of this research showed that the criteria to determined the strategy to building Forest City Pekanbaru based on the partisipation of the people according the goverment is social importance (0,377), society is ecology importance (0,442)and the businessman is social importance (0,377). According all the participation of people finded the priority strategy building city is (1) increase the function of forest city (0,353), (2) sociliaze from government (0,242), (3) facility (0,238) and (4) controlling the activity of society (0,167). Keywords: AHP, The Priority of Building Strategy, Forest City Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure and the best dosage for the growth and production of leek (Allium fistulosum L.). Research has been conducted at the Experimental station, Faculty of Agriculture, University of  Riau, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted as experiments using a randomized block design (RAK) consisting of six levels and four replications, from July to September 2017. Parameters measured  were plant height, number of tillers, weight per hill, fresh weight, the weight for consumption and volume the root. Results the reserch show that several doses of chicken manure significantly increased the plant height, number of tillers, weight per hill, fresh weight, but not for proper weight is for consumption and the root volume. Provision of chicken manure with a doses of 17.5 ton.ha-1 showed a better improvement on the growth and yield of leek.Keywords : leek, doses, chicken manure

Abstract

This study aims to determine the dosage of biogas waste liquid fertilizer that produces growth and yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) best. The research was conducted in Experimental Field of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The soil type used is Inceptisol. The study was conducted for three months starting from May to July 2016. The experiment was conducted experiments using Completely Randomized Design (RAL), which consisted of 6 treatments and 4 replications. The total experimental unit was 24 plots, with each plot contained 9 plants. Each plot was taken 3 randomly sampled plants. The observational data were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Varian (ANOVA), and  Duncan Multiple Range Test at the 5 % level. The observed parameters consist of plant height, leaf number, fresh weight of plant, fresh weight of plant worth consumption and dry weight of the plant. The results showed that the treatment of biogas waste liquid fertilizer can increase the height of the plant, the number of leaves, the fresh weight of the plant / plot, the fresh weight of the plant is feasible consumption / plot and dry weight. The best treatment for lettuce production was the application of liquid biogas waste fertilizer with a dose of 3.5 liters / plot.  Keywords: waste biogas, liquid fertilizer, lettuce

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of solid bio-slurry interaction and urea fertilizer as well as get the best dose of the plant pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The research has been conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Campus Bina Widya km 12.5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 1 month starting from January to February 2018. This research was conducted experimentally with Factorial Random Design (FRD) which consists of 2 factors. The first factor is the provision of bio-slurry consisting of 3 levels, namely: B0 (Without administration), B1 (500 g.m-2), B2 (1000 g.m-2). The second factor was Urea fertilizer consisting of 3 levels: U0 (Without administration), U1 (10 g.m-2), U2 (20 g.m-2) The data obtained were analyzed by fingerprint and tested further by Duncan multiple range test at the 5% level.The parameters observed were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight of plant and weight of plant feasible.The results showed that the provision of solid bio-slurry and Urea fertilizer increased plant height, leaf number, leaf area, weight fresh plant and weight is feasible for consumption of pakcoy crops Provision of 1000 g.m-2solid Bio-slurry can increase plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight of plant and weight of consumption of the plant pakcoy.Urea fertilizer 20 g.m-2can increase plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight of plant and weight of consumption worth of pakcoy plant.Supply of 1000 g.m-2solid Bio-slurry and Urea 20 g.m-2fertilizer showed better effect on high parameter, leaf number, leaf levers, fresh weight and weight is feasible consumption of pakcoy plants. Keywords: Plant pakcoy, Bio-Slurry solid, urea fertilizer

Abstract

This research is aimed to find out the types, parts and the pattern of utilization of medicine plants by communities around Sentajo protected forest in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research was conducted at Sentajo protected forest area in the village of Koto Sentajo Kuantan Singingi Regency Riau Province. It was started from September to October 2016. The sampling method that was used in this research is Purposive Sampling Method. The result of the research showed that there are 89 types of 34 relatives of medicine plants and 39 benefits of plants that were used by communities in the village of Koto Sentajo. There are 63 types of leaves used as traditional medicine. Leaf is the most widely used as a traditional treatment, while the least part is the skin and tubers. The use of medicine plants can be done in the morning, noon, night and early morning depending on the type of illness. Abstract

Research on sunflower in Riau has not ever been studied, therefore this study is planted using  planting medium that is soil dominated by Ultisol and Inceptisol. soil improvement  with using oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) compost can increase the growth and yield of the sunflower plant. The experiment was conducted with a split plot design (split plot) in the form of 4 x 2 factorial, the first factor is the Plant Media And the second factor is the administration of EFB compost that consists of four levels of 0g, 25g, 50g, and 75g. Data were statistically analyzed by analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test (DMRT) at 5%. Parameters measured were plant height, leaf number, date of flowering, harvest, seed weight, and the analysis of soil chemical properties. The results of the study found that the application of 50g / polybag EFB compost was the best treatment for the growth and yield of the sunflower on Ultisols media and Inceptisols.Keywords: Sunflower, Ultisol, Inceptisol, EFB, Split Plot

Abstract

The forest in Indonesia has various natural resources. One of the natural resources is nepenthes. One of the forests which has nepenthes is the prohibition forest of  rumbio customary in rumbio village. The prohibition forest of  rumbio customary rumbio village is the highest heritage of the society of rumbio village culture. It has various natural resources and the flora and the fauna in this area. The methods used were belt transect method and purposive sampling method. It was found out that there are three types of nepenthes in the prohibition forest of  rumbio customary rumbio village; they are: Nepenthes ampullaria, Nepenthes gracillis, and Nepenthes mirabilis. The diversity index of nepenthes in the prohibition forest of  rumbio customary rumbio village at Kuyang yard zone was in the amount of 0,374, Sialang Layang zone was in the amount of 0,653 and Panoghan zone was in the amount of 0,808 in which three of them are categorized into low. Keywords:  The prohibition forest of  rumbio customary rumbio village,   Diversity Index, nepenthes, Kuyang yard zone, Sialang layang zone, Panoghan zone.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the agribusiness system in the district of paddy in the Medang Deras subdistrict and determine farm income paddy in the Medang Deras subdistrict. This research conducted by survey method where samples were taken by 30 respondents in each village have taken 10 respondents farmers besides 2 collectors an 2 tauke besides. The results showed that the provision  of means of productions do not meet the proper criteria 6.Cost of rice production in one growing season of Rp.10.361.917,2/hektare pee planting season variable costs of Rp.8.091.891,4/ hectar.The  rice production amounted to 4.444,60 kg / hectare pee planting season.Gross income op Rp.20.81.,877,1/hectare and the clean income is Rp.10.450.960,0/ hectare in one season with the RCR at 2,01. Rice sold by the farmers onlyin the form of wet rice crop (GBP) and dry grain harvest (GKP) with one channel only, namely farmers, collectors and wholesalers. Institutional farming support (credit invidual farming ), education and training as well as the information can not be accessed by either.  Keywords:Agribusiness,Rice paddy.

Abstract

The productivity of paddy which decreased influenced by high fertilizer requirements, while the price of inorganic fertilizers more expensive. Alternatif used to obtain an environmentally frriendly fertilization by using endophytic Bacillus sp. bacteria in the form of formulations, so that the Bacillus sp. can last a long time. The study aimed to determine the effect of the Bacillus sp. endophytic bacteria formulated with some waste and get the best formulation towards paddy. The research has been conducted in isolation room in industrial business unit Biofertilizer and Biopesticides and the Experimental Farm of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, in November 2015 until March 2016. The research was conducted experimentall using on completely randomized design (CDR) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The data were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance and tested further with Duncan's multiple range test at 5% level. The results showed that giving Bacillus sp. bacteria formulated with sago waste is a formulation which tends best as it can increase the number of tillers total, the percentage of productive tiller, weight of 100 grain pithy, dry grain per panicle and the percentage of grain pithy. Keywords: Endophytic Bacillus sp., formulation, waste, Oryza sativa L.
