Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of macrofauna and mesofauna peat soil macrofauna calculate population density and mesofauna peat soil between plants and close rubber plant (Hevea Brazilliensis),Research conducted in the community rubber plantations, pineapple Kualu Village, District Mines Kampar. The type of soil used was Peat. The research was conducted over three months starting from March to May 2016. The study was conducted by survey sampling for macrofauna and mesofauna ground observations determined by purposive sampling method, extensive research sites 1 360 hectares with a population of crop plants, for research taken 5%, namely 18 plants, plant determination random sample of observations made, the observed data diverse population and relative density of macrofauna and mesofauna analyzed by descriptive statistics. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the addition of various of dahlia tuber flour in making sinbiotic drink of sweet corn extract by using Lactobacillus casei subsp. casei R-68 which isolated from dadih. The research was carried out experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 4 replications thus obtaining 16 experimental units.Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik dengan menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA). The data found were statistically analyzed using Analysis of  Variance (ANOVA). Jika F hitung lebih besar atau sama dengan F tabel maka dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT pada taraf 5%.If the F count is greater than or equal to F table then continued with DNMRT test at 5% level. The results of the present study indicate that initial pH of sinbiotic drink of sweet corn extract were 3.73-3.85, total lactic acid 0.69-0.96%, total LAB 9.90-10.80 log cfu/ml after fermentation, total solid 10.30-14.55%, protein 1.14-1.91% and fiber 0.10-0.21%. The results show that the addition of dahlia tuber flours significantly affected the pH, total lactic acid, total LAB, total solid, protein and fiber contens as well as sensory evaluation of sinbiotic drink of sweet corn extract. Overall acceptance test indicated that the panelists were “rather like” for sinbiotic drink of sweet corn extract. The best treatment based on the number of LAB, protein contant as well as sensory evaluation was treatment SJ2 (addition 3% concentration of dahlia tuber). Keywords: Prebiotic, probiotic, dahlia tuber flour, Lactobacillus casei subsp. casei R-68

Abstract

This research aims to determine onion crop response to multiple doses of palm oil mill wastewater (LCPKS) and coconut water plant growth regulator (PGR). This research has been conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture Experimental Station Riau University Campus Bina Widya km 12.5 Baru Simpang Village Handsome Municipal District of Pekanbaru, for three months, from April to June 2017. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) factorial. The first factor is the palm oil mill effluent consisting of 3 levels, L1 =1 l / m2 , L2 = 2 l/ M2, L3 =3 l/ M2 and the second factor was PGR coconut water which consists of 3 levels, Z1 = 25% = 50% Z2, Z3 = 75%. The parameters were observed consisting of plant height, leaf number, the number of bulbs, tubers convolution, the number of tubers are large, medium and small, fresh tuber weight, and weight in the shelf.The results of the analysis of variance analyzed further using HSD (Honestly Significant Difference) 5%. Administration of LCPKS has significant impact on the number of leaves, number of bulbs, tubers fresh weight, and weight in the shelf. Fresh tuber weight was positively correlated very strongly with weights shelf and moderately correlated wrap the tubers.Keywords: onion, LCPKS, PGR coconut water.

Abstract

Peatlands in Indonesia is one of the natural resources that have the potential for development in the rubber plantation sector. Use of peatlands as a plantation must be managed well to keep it from damage, because peat has great benefits. One way to keep the peatland in order to avoid damage by growing a cover crop Mucuna bracteata.The purpose of this study was to knowing diversity of soil macrofauna and knowing the relationship between the girth of rubber plants that overgrown and not overgrown by Mucuna bracteata. This research has been conducted in areal life plant PT. RAPP Subdistricts Teluk Meranti, District Pelalawan, Riau and analysis soil macrofauna in Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. Research was conducted from January until March 2016. Sampling in this research is a purposive sampling of 5% of the 20.4 ha (1.02 ha). The data obtained from the research and calculations such as total individual, family, population density, relative density and diversity of soil macrofauna analyzed descriptively and the data measuring the girth of rubber plants were statistically analyzed. The results showed that life mucuna has a diversity index, total individual, the number of species, population density and relative density greater than without mucuna and died mucuna. Average girth of rubber plants in life mucuna greater than compared to without mucuna and died mucuna.Keywords :Mucuna bracteata, rubber plants, peatlandand soil macrofauna

Abstract

The use of strawberry cultivation land is limited in the highlands, it is necessary to develop the adaptation of strawberry plants to lowland cultivation areas, especially in Riau. The research was purpose to study the effect of shade and liquid organic fertilizer concentration on growth and yield of strawberries in lowland. The research was conducted using a Split Plot Design, with the shading as main plots (shade 0%, 50% and 75%) and  giving liquid organic fertilizer concentration as  subplots (0 ml/l, 2,5 ml/l, 5 ml/l dan 7,5 ml/l).  Observed variable is the number of plant height and leaf, flowering age, number of flowers, number of fruits, total fruits weight. The data were analyzed by anova and descriptive analyse, than followed by Duncan’s multiple range test at 5% level. The result of this study represent that was significant different of shade on the number of plant heigh and leaf, but its no complete data on the flowering age, number of flowers, number of fruits, total fruits weight. The best treatment for growth of strawberries is shade as 50% and liquid organic fertilizer concentration as 7,5 ml/l of water.Keywords: strawberry, adaptation, shade, liquid organic fertilizer

Abstract

The objective of this  research  was to get the best botanical insecticide extract to kill golden snail pest on paddy plant. The study arranged experimentally using Complete Randomized Design (CRD)  consist of 4 treaments and 5 replications until get 20 experiment unit.  Every unit was infected by 8 golden snails pest with 30 days old. The treatment was from some botanical insecticide with 10 % concentration  consist of forest betel leaf extract, neem leaf extract, soursop leaf extract, and Titonia diversifolia leaf extract. The parameters those obsevered were  early death  (hour), lethal time 50   (hour),  daily mortality (%), total mortality (%),  temperature and humidity daily on study site. The result showed that neem leaf extract with 10% cocentration have the best  ability and effective to control P. canaliculata with early death 15,2 hours, LT50  24,60 hours and total mortality until 95%. The soursop leaf extract and Titonia diversifolia leaf extract with 10% concentration also effective because can kill more than 80% P. canaliculata. Abstract

The Purpose of this research is to find the best treatment from the production of sweet orange and jackfruit combination Fruit Leather. This research using Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatment and 4 repetition. This treatment are combining 85 grams sweet orange mush and 15 grams jackfruit (JD1); 65 grams sweet orange mush and 35 grams jackfruit (JD2); 45 grams sweet oranges mush and 55 grams jackfruit (JD3); 25 grams sweet oranges mush and 75 grams jackfruit (JD4). This research using Analysis of Variace (ANOVA) and Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) with significance level (α) 5%. The result of this research refers that there is a significance differences of each treatment towards Water Content, Acidic Properties (pH), Ash Content, Pectin Content, Sugar Reduction and Organoleptic Test. This research conclude that the best treatment according to Proksimate and Hedonic test is fruit leather product made by combination of 45 grams sweet oranges mush and 55 grams jackfruit mush (JD3) which have Water Content 14.612%, Acidic Properties (pH) 4.87, Ash Content 0.773%, Pectin Content 2.409%, Sugar Reduction 47.637%, And according to Hedonic test for Colour, Taste, Aromatic, Texture Atribute, and whole rating of Fruit Leather liked by Panelis. Key words : sweet orange, fruit leather, jackfruit.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the responses of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) those grow better with foliar fertilizer and gibberellins. This study was  a 3 x 3 factorial experiment arranged in completely randomized design (CRD), consists of two factors and three replications. The first factor is the concentration of foliar fertilizer (D), which consists of three levels ie d0 = without foliar fertilizer (0 ppm), d1 = 1.500 ppm concentration of foliar fertilizer and foliar fertilizers d2 = concentration of 3.000 ppm. The second factor is the concentration of gibberellins (G) which consists of three levels ie g0 = without giberelin (0 ppm), g1 = giberelin concentration of 5.000 ppm and g2 = giberelin concentration of 10.000 ppm. Data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and orthogonal contrast test at the 5 % level. Parameters those observed were seedling height, number of leaf midrib, stump diameter, root mass, root to shoot ratio, seedling dry weight and seedling quality index. The results showed that there was no interaction effect of foliar fertilizer with gibberellins on growth component of oil palm seedlings on variables: height, number of leaf midrib, stump diameter, root volume, ratio canopy root, seedling dry weight and seedling quality index. Gibberellins treatment increases the height of oil palm seedlings, compared with those not given giberelin while leaf fertilizer treatment did not increase the height of the plant. Seedlings were given giberelin concentration of 10.000 ppm can improve seedling height reached 91,30cm. Key words :palm oil seedling, foliar fertilizer, gibberellins

Abstract

 The aim of this research is to know Arabica coffee  seedling                (Coffea arabica L.) on medium subsoil Inseptisol. This research  has been conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Campus Bina Widya km 12,5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru City. This study was conducted from March to July 2017. This study was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments are several types of organic fertilizer consisting of six treatment namely K0: Without composting,  K1: 50 g TKKS compost per polybag, K2: 50 g tofu waste compost per polybag, K3: 50 g coffee skin compost per polybag, K4: 50 g vermicompost per polybag, K5: 50 g kolarhino per polybag. Each treatment was performed three times in 18 experimental units. Data obtained from the observations were analyzed using variance analysis (Anova). Diversity results are followed by Duncan multiple range test at 5% level. The parameters used were the increase of seedling height, the increase of stem diameter, the increase of leaf number, total leaf area, root volume, seedling dry weight and shoot root ratio. The results showed that some kind of organic fertilizers both to the root volume of other parameters such as the increase of seedling height, the increase of stem diameter, the increase of leaf number, total leaf area, seedling dry weight and shoot root ratio. Provision of organic fertilizer vermicompost provide the best results than other organic fertilizer are TKKS, tofu waste, coffee skin and kolarhino.Keywords: Arabica coffee seedling, organic fertilizer, subsoil Inseptisol

Abstract

This research aims to determine and analyze the factors that affect the production of  coffee in RangsangPesisirSub District. This research uses survey method to conduct interview with 75 sample of coffee farmers obtained by using the slovin method with field trips to their farms. Factors affecting agricultural production are analyzed using the Cobb Douglass production function and using the least estimated squares method. There are four factors of coffee production are assessed influen : number of coffee crops, amount of manure, pesticides, and labor. The variable significantly affect coffee production in RangsangPesisirSub District is the number of coffe crops and labor. Keyword : coffee, production factor, cobbdouglas, rangsang pesisir
