Abstract

The objective of this research was to look for the alternative fertilizer suitable to be used for soybean grown under different plant spacing. This research was established in the Agricultural Experimental Station, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from August to December 2016. The field experiment was arranged in randomized completely block design with three replication. Three planting spaces were  used including J1: 40 cm x 12 cm, J2:       40 cm x 15 cm, and J3: 40 cm x 20 cm. The second factor was Collopogonium mucoides (CM) compos as alternative fertilizer including; P1: inorganic N, P, K fertilizer with recommended rate, P2: CM compost fertilizers 2500 kg/ha, and P3: CM compost fertilizers 5000 kg/ha. Parameters observed were plant height, internodes length, flowering date, harvesting date, filled pod percentage, number of seeds per plant, seed weight per plant,  yield per m2, and 100-seed weight. Analysis of variance was performed to the data and the mean differences were specified by the least  significant difference test at 5% level.  The result showed that applying CM compost to soybean resulted better performance compare to inorganic fertilizer. Increasing the rate of CM compost from 2500 kg to 5000 kg  per ha tent to increase filled pods percentate, number of seeds per plant, grain yield per m2 and 100 seeds weight. In term of planting space, wider planting space resulted low density of plants per area and produced greater filled pods percentage, greater seed number, higher seed weight per plant, higher grain yield per m2 and greater 100-seed weight. Keywords: Collopogonium, compost, plant spacing, growth and soybean yield

Abstract

The existence of the Garden of Eden 100 ecotourism in producing tour benefits intended to achieve an advantage that the management of ecotourism can be done sustainability. In order to the condition of the ownership status of the Garden of Eden 100 held by individual who never made the calculation of costs incurred that are economically not known fee for management of these areas. For that we need to do an analysis of the cost and the benefit of ecotourism Garden of Eden 100.The aimed of this research is to determine the cost of issued, the economical benefit and the advisability of ecotourism business. The results of the research showed that total cost of issued in the  management of ecotourism Garden of Eden 100  in the amount of Rp. 240.740.000,00/year, while total economical benefit from ecotourism in the amount of Rp. 381.670.000,00/year, so that from the benefit it can get advantage in the amount of Rp. 140.930.000,00/year. Analysis of R/C ratio indicates that an ecotourism business deserve economically with a value 1.59.Keywords :ecotourism,ecotourism business, analysis of cost and benefit,the R/C ratio

Abstract

Fruit leather type of food made from fruit that have been crushed and dried.  Fruit leather has a storage period of up to 12 mounth if kept in good storage conditions.  One of the criterationfordeterminan the quality of fruit leather is color.  The fruit used is not just the fruit of this kuini but combined with red dragon fruit to color interesting and also dragon fruit contain useful pigment.   This study aims to determine the best characteristic of the concentration of fruit kuini and red dragon fruit in the manufacture of quality fruit leather product.  Treatment used KN1 (50% kuini fruit, 50% red dragon fruit), KN2 (60% kuini fruit, 40% red dragon fruit), KN3 (70% kuini fruit, 30% red dragon fruit), KN4 (80% kuini fruit, 20% red dragon fruit), KN5 (90% kuini fruit, 10% red dragon fruit). The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using Anova and DNMRT at 5%.  The result showed that the use of kuini and red dragon fruit significantly affect the water content, ash content, acidity degree, coarse fiber content, sucrose content, and organic assessment. The best fruit leather the results of this study is fruit leather with KN3 treatment, which has a 12,08% of water content, 0,89% ash content, 4,40% acidity degree, 1,12% crude fiber content, 58,57% sucrose content.  Descriptive assessment shows the result that is the color is yellowish red, the aroma tends to smell the fruit of kuini and red dragon fruit, sweet taste, chewy texture and the hedonic overall assessment fruit leather favored by panelists. Keywords: fruit leather, kuini fruit, and red dragon fruit

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: 1) Identify the types of local wisdom rubber trees that was, and is still applied in the rubber cultivation by the Malay community in the hamlet Petalangan Madang District of Pangkalan Lesung Pelalawan. 2) Determine the public perception of the indigenous Malay Petalangan rubber plant in Hamlet Madang District of Pangkalan Lesung Pelalawan. 3) Knowing the level of interest and the level of local wisdom strength rubber plant in people's lives in the hamlet Madang District of Pangkalan Lesung Pelalawan. This research was conducted in the hamlet Madang District of Pangkalan Lesung Pelalawan. Samples taken as many as 23 people, the sampling method, Snowball Sampling and Random Sampling. Data were collected through interviews and documentation. The analytical method used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis, Likert scale and the Cartesian diagram. The results of this study are, 1) local wisdom rubber plant in the cultivation of rubber by the Malay community in the hamlet Petalangan Madang there are as many as 24 local wisdom. 2) the public perception of the indigenous Malay Petalangan rubber plants categorized agree. 3) the level of interest and the level of local wisdom strength rubber plant in the lives of people in the hamlet Madang there are two local wisdom in quadrant I, 21 Local wisdom in quadrant II, one local wisdom in quadrant III, and 2 Local knowledge in quadrant IV. Keywords: Community, Local wisdom, Rubber plant

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to obtain best consentration of CaO catalyst chicken eggshell in transesterification process on quality of biodiesel produced from pangi seed oil. The treatment of CaO catalyst consentrations in this research were S1 (1%), S2 (1.5%), S3 (2%), S4 (2.5%), and S5 (3%). The collected data were statistically analyzed by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) continued by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) test at 5% level. The parameters observed were acid value, density, iodium value, saponification value, and cetana number. The results of analysis showedthat consentration of CaO catalyst chicken eggshell gaveunsignificantlyaffect on acid value and cetana number but significantly affect on density, iodium value, saponification valueof biodiesel. The chosen treatment in this research was S5 (CaO catalyst 3%). The treatment of S5 has yield 97.989% with characteristics acid value 0.682 mg KOH/g, density 885.220 kg/m3, iodium value 81.414 g I2/100 g, saponification value 179.00 mg KOH/g, and cetana number 58.473.  Keywords: biodiesel, catalyst CaO, pangi seed oil

Abstract

The development of oil palm plantation is closely related to the availability of seed quality. Seed quality will determine whether or not the growth and production of the commodity. Trichocompost applications made from palm fronds provide a good response to the growth of palm oil. Research aims to determine the growth response of some varieties of seedlings of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) on the application of Trichocompost palm oil raw materials in main nursery and which Trichocompost is the best against the growth response of some varieties of oil palm seedlings and interaction of several varieties of seedlings of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) against Trichocompost application raw materials palm oil in the main nursery.                Research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) 2 factors: oil palm varieties (PPKS, Topaz and Socfindo) and Trichocompost (palm fronds, palm leaf and whole palm fronds) with three replications. The experiment was conducted in March-July 2016 at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The results showed that significant effect on native varieties on height increase, the number of leaves increase, diameter hump increase, the ratio of the canopy and root, and  dry weight of oil palm seedlings. Tenera variety of oil palm seedlings DXP Marihat PPKS origin is the best growth response compared to other varieties. Keywords: Palm oil, varieties and Trichocompost

Abstract

This study aims to Analyze the marketing mix that influences consumer purchasing decisions Raudhah Chicken, Analyzing the relationship between the marketing mix of consumer purchasing decisions Raudhah Chicken. This research using purposive sampling method with the respondents of the study amounted to 90 respondents who have aged> 17 years, shop at Raudhah Chicken more than 1 times. The data were analyzed using Likert scale, validity test, reliability test and Cartesian diagram,Spearman rank correlation analysis.The results showed that of the five marketing mix variables, all of which are in the category of "influential". Correlation analysis of rank spearman that show relationship between marketing mix to consumer decision is positive and strong and significant (x = 0,01).Marketing mixed positive correlation coefficient (+), meaning the relationship of marketing mix with consumer decisions is the same direction so if the marketing mix is increased then consumer decisions will also increase.It is advisable For the Raudhah Chicken party to improve the mix of market such as: product, price, place, promotion,service and increase sales of chicken Raudhah so that consumrs will continue to shop and do not switch to another. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain the ratio of the addition of “belanda eggplant” on the quality of the jam of “kepok banana peel”. Research was carried out by using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD), with 5 treatments and 3 repetitions to obtained 15 experimental units. The treatments were PT0 (60% pureed of kepok banana peel and 0% pureed of  belanda eggplant), PT1 (50% pureed of kepok banana peel and 10% pureed of belanda eggplant), PT2 (40% pureed of kepok banana peel and 20% pureed of belanda eggplant), PT3 (30% pureed of kepok banana peel and 30% pureed of belanda eggplant) and PT4 ( 20% pureed of kepok banana peel and 40% pureed of belanda eggplant). Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and DMRT at 5% level. The results show that the ratio of belanda eggplant and kepok banana peel significantly affected all parameters. The best treatment was PT4 (20% pureed of kepok banana peel and 40% pureed of belanda eggplant) with a moisture content of 28,71%, ash content of 0,21%, viscosity 736,28 (cP), the fiber content of 0,51% and total sugar content 48.02%. Sensory test of jam from best treatment had red colour, somewhat flavorful belanda eggplant  and kepok banana peel, sweet taste slightly sour, soft texture and overall assessment preferred by the panelists.     Keywords: Jam, Belanda Eggplant and Kepok Banana Peel.

Abstract

This research aims to get the best dosage of coffee rind compost to increase the growth of rubber seedling. This research has been conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of University of Riau, kampus of Bina Widya km 12,5 Simpang Baru, Tampan, Pekanbaru from March to July 2017. This research was conducted experimentally using factorial randomized design, consisted of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The dosage of coffee rind compost were 0 ton/ha (0 g/polybag), 5 ton/ha (12,5 g/polybag), 10 ton/ha (25 g/polybag), 15 ton/ha (37,5 g/polybag) dan 20 ton/ha (50 g/polybag). The observed parameters in this research were steam length, number of leaves, wide of leaves, steam diameter, fresh weight, volume of root, rootshootratioanddry weight. The result shows that the giving application of coffee rind compost can to increase the growth of rubber seedling. The dosage of coffee rind compost 15 ton/ha (37,5 g/polybag) gave the best response in increasing steam length, number of leaves, fresh weight and dry wight. Keywords: dosage, coffee rind compost, rubber

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of concentration of extracts of onion on the growth pepper cuttings and to get the best onion extract concentration. This research has been conducted at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from February to May 2016. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consist of 5 treatments onion extract (0%, 20%, 40%, 60% and 80%) and four replications. Data were analyzed using ANOVA. Parameters were observed, namely, the percentage of live cuttings, shoots emerging time, shoot length, number of leaves, number of roots, roots length, and root volume. The result showed that the concentration of red onion extract as a natural plant growth regulator had no significant effect on all parameters of the growth pepper cuttings. An onion extract concentration of 60% gives better result in all parameters.Keywords: pepper, pepper cuttings, red onion extract
