Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify which sub sector basis in Kampar district and see a shift, competitiveness and growth profiles in the sector and sub-sector economy in Kampar district. The types of data that used are secondary data (time series) between 2002 until 2011. Secondary data obtain from relevant government agencies such as the regional gross domestic product (PDRB), the data of production area and amount of production in Kampar district. Obtained data were collected, tabulated and analyzed in with the relevant theory, such as Location Quotient (LQ) method, in LQ analysis, there are localization and specialization’s analysis., Dynamic location Quotient (DLQ), shift share analysis and area’s growth profile. The Location Quotient method was used to know is farm’s subsector is basis subsector in Kampar district, localization was used to know the level of farm’s activity distribution in Kampar district and the level of specific commodity’s distribution in Riau province. Dynamic location Quotient was used to know position changes of an economics sector in the future, analysis shift share was used to see the friction of competitiveness sector and economy subsector in Kampar district and growth area’s profile the purpose is to identify the growth of PDRB’s economy sector in Kampar district within specific time period, by expressing the percentage change in the growth component’s proportional to the share of the growth areas. Abstract

The conversion of food crops to oil palm plantation becomes a critical issue in Riau Province. There are less and less available land for food crops. The aim of this research are to (1) identify the potential subsector of food crops in Siak; (2) to analyze the sector basis and non basis commodity of food crops; (3) identify relatives spreading and coefficient specialist of basis subsector of food crops; (4) and analyze the feasibility of food crops on economic aspect. The study used descriptive to the wide of harvest and products, LQ, the coefficient location, specialist coefficient and RCR. The source result of subsector food crops in Siak has analyze potential in descriptive to be progessed are rice paddy field, cassava, and corn. LQ shows that the food plants is basis sector in Siak with close mark LQ of the wide harvest and product is wet rice field. The coeffient of location shows the activities farming of food crops in Siak spread in some subdistricts. The specialist coefficient in Siak did commodity in certain food plants are done by the farmer in each subdistrict still has variety. In economist farmer effort food crops wet rice field in Siak suibtable to be progressed, this is showed with RCR mark.   Keywords: Coeffcient location, coeffcient specialist, food crops, LQ

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze net income, efficiency and BEP (Break Even Point) of agro-industrial business of Aloe vera of Duta Purnama and to draft the development strategy that can be applied to this agro-industrial business. The data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method used in this research are basic business analysis by counting the income, profit, efficiency (RCR), BEP unit, BEP income, SWOT analysis and AHP (analytic hierarchy process). Seen from the value of profit, Duta Purnama, the agro-industrial business, has a very promising prospect.  It can be known from the result of the research that the RCR values of Nata De Aloe and Duta Purnama’s cracker business are respectively 1.86 and 1.43. The first main strategy and can be applied to develop the business by using AHP is maintaining the competitive price of products.   Keywords: Income, Efficiency (RCR), Strategy, SWOT Analysis and AHP.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain the best pH in the extraction of durian rind pectin. Research conducted experiments using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments are: P1 (extraction pH 1.5); P2 (extraction pH 2.0); P3 (extraction pH 2.5), and P4 (extraction pH 3.0). The results showed that the variation in the level of acidity in the manufacture of durian rind pectin significant effect on yield, methoxyl content, moisture content, ash content and organoleptic assessment of the color. Pectin P1-P4 treatment meets the standards IPPA (International Pectin Producers Association) For The best treatment in this study is the P1 treatment (extraction pH 1.5) produced pectinbetter to yield 2.60%, 4.35% methoxyl content, water content 8.38%, ash content 7.69% and pectin brown color.   Keywords: pectin, durian skin, and acidity (pH)

Abstract

The aim of the research was to obtain the best combination treatment between early sugar concentration and Tween80 concentration as surfactant and nutrition for Saccaromyces cerevisiae to produce ethanol on very high gravity fermentation from Nypa sap. The exploration research used two factor treatments with two replications. The treatments consist of early sugar concentration N1 (20%), N2 (25%), N3 (30%) and Tween80 concentration T0 (0%), T1 (0,2%), T2 (0,4%), T3 (0,6%). Observation was conducted every 24 hours i.e sugar concentration, ethanol concentration, amount of cell, and pH. Data obtained were analyzed by descriptive method. The best combination treatment was T3N2 (Tween80 0,6% and N 25%) which produced ethanol 17,25%.   Keywords: Nypa sap, Tween80, Bioethanol, Very High Gravity Fermentation

Abstract

Area surround  forest have community’s Betung village, Pangkalan Kuras District Pelalawan regency to have all various of sialang tree. As to various of tree mention between other Shorea sp, Dipterocarpus cofertus Sloot, Artocarpus maingayi, Koompassia excels Taub, Koompassia malaccensis and Gluta aptera. However sialang tree don’t manage in this area surround forest by community. The community more important oil palm of management equal sialang tree of management. This research purpose to know management system of sialang tree with this  forest area and compare contribution and out put can from sialang tree of management and oil palm of management using Purpossive sampling technique. Result showed that sialang tree of management and taking  honey’s bee don’t treatment again. Because many of sialang tree don’t perch so that produced honey’s bee little. Based on analitycal hierarchy process, sialang tree given contribution and out put more good equal with oil palm. Because to out put can from sialang tree maximum if his work long time equal out put can from oil palm maximum if his work long time and out of cost maximum. Abstract

One of exfort to increase tomato productivity is considering the cultivation aspect and using high yield variety which can adapt finely on it recent invironment. The other ways to increase the productivity is though plant breeding whis is the aim is to find and create new variety from certain population. The research aim to get tomatoes genotype that have fine growth and productivity at the low land which eventually can be created as new variety. The research held for 5 months. The research arranged experimentally using Randomined Block Design (RBD) consist of 24 plant and 10 samples. Treatment are Ratna Variety, Intan Variety, IPB T3-8-10, IPB T57-3, IPB T65-6-2012 and IPB T30-4-4. Parameters are plant height, stim girth, fruith longth, flowering date, harvesting date, fruit girth, weight per fruit and total yield per plant. Result shows that genotype of IPB T3-8-10 and IPB T-30-44 Had yield better than Ratna variety and Intan. A highest total of fruit weight per plant on genotype IPB T3-8-10 (1144 g), IPB T3-44 (796 g), IPB T57-3 (734.6 g) and IPB T65-6-2012 (605.6 g).   Keyword : Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.,Variety, Genotype, Growth

Abstract

This research was aimed to  know biomass production, nitrogen fixation and root nodules by LCC on Dystrudepts. The research was conducted at the greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture University of  Riau  from December 2013 to Maret 2014.This research was an experimental with 5 treatments (Mucuna pruriens, Pueraria javanica, Calopogonium mucunoides, Centrosema pubescens and Mucuna bracteata) with 4 replications and each  replications consist of 4 plants. Data obtained from this study were analyzed by ANOVA and continued with Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at 5%. The results showed that LCC panted on Dystrudepts produce different biomass, nitrogen fixation and  also root nodules on Dystrudepts and Mucuna pruriens is better than Calopogonium mucunoides, Pueraria javanica, Centrosema pubescens and Mucuna bracteata.   Key words: LCC, Dystrudepts, Mucuna pruriens.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of chiken manure and various doses of urea fertilizer on Palm Oil seedling growth (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in the Main Nursery, as well as to obtain the best combination of treatments. This research lasted from August 2013 to November 2013 at Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau. Research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), 2 factors with 3 replications. First factor: Chiken Manure K0 (Without treatment) K1 (25 g/polybag) and K2 (50 g / polybagy), and second factor: Urea Fertilizer U0 (without treatment), U1 (0.45 g/polybag) U2 (0.91g/polybag) and U3 (1.82 g/polybag). Parameters measured were additional seeds height, additonal stump diameter, additional number of leaves, root volume, shoot root ratio and dry weight. Data were analyzed using the F test and test of Duncan New’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) 5%. The results shows the use of chicken manure reveal significant value on increasing the stump diameter, shoot root ratio and dry weight of plants and the use of urea fertilizer effect on all parameters, increasing the plant height, diameter of the stump, number of leaves, root volume, shoot root ratio and dry weight of plants, while the combination of chiken manure and urea fertilizer reveal no effect on all parameters. Abstract

The used of organic fertilizers that environment friendly and do not damage nature is the best solution in the cultivation of green beans (Vigna radiata L.). Vermicompost organic fertilizer is one of the more qualified than the other organic fertilizers. This organic fertilizer is the result of composting without worms.The purpose of this study was to examine the use of multiple doses of vermicompost fertilizer and get a dose of fertilizer is best for the growth and production of green beans. This research has been conducted in the gauze, experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from December 2013 to February 2014. This study was performed experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD), 5 treatments and 3 replicates with 6 plants per experimental unit, 3 plants used as a sample. The parameters measured were plant height (cm), number of primary branches (branches), days to flowering (days), pod formation age (days), maturity (days), number of pods per plant pithy (pieces), the number of empty pods per plant (pieces), dried seed weight per plant (g) and weight of 100 seeds (g). The data analysis results were significant statistical test followed by least significant difference (LSD) at the 5% level. The results of this study indicate that vermicompost fertilizer on green beans significantly affect flowering, pod formation age, maturity and weight of 100 seeds. Vermicompost fertilizer at a dose of 40 g/polybag give the best results on a number of parameters compared to the other doses. Keywords : Fertilizer, Vermicompost, Dose, Green Bean
