Abstract

This research aims to study the effect composting of oil palm empty fruit bunches enriched spent earth to the growth and yield of soybean. This research conducted on peat soil at Kualu Nenas village, Tambang sub-district, Kampar Regency starts from March to June 2013. The material used was soybean variety Grobogan, empty fruit bunches of oil palm (EFBOP) compost and spent earth (spent earth is a byproduct of vegetable oil processing). Research carried out experimentally using complete randomized design (CRD) which consists of five treatmentsKS0, KSI, KS2, KS3 and KS4(K = 5tonsEFBOPcompost/ha, S0,1,2,3 and 4= 0; 0,5; 1; 1,5’ and 2 tons     spent earth/ha) and four replications.The parameters observed are plant height, flowering date, harvesting age, number of pods of pithy, the percentage number of pithy, seed pods per pods, seed weight andweight of 100 seeds. The result show that 5 tons/ha of EFBOP compost with spent earth 0-2 tons/ha doesn’t have significant influence on plant's growth, but soybean seed weight tended to increase the provision of  5 tonsempty fruit bunches of oil palm compost /ha enriched1,5 tonsspent earth/ha.   Keywords     : Empty fruit bunches of oil palm (EFBOP) compost, spent earthand Soybean

Abstract

Data were analized using Descriptif Analisis.Resultsshowed thatlocal wisdomthatno longer validamong themland distribution, banned of cutting down the main tree, levy fund, the banningcutting down treesinriversideareaandattitude ofhelping each otherin the making offield. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain the best ratio of corn flour and sago starch on the quality of instant noodles. A completely randomized design with five treatments and flour replications was used. The treatment consist were JST1 (corn flour 60% : sago starch 30% : tapioca 10%), JST2 (corn flour 55% : sago starch 35% : tapioca 10%), JST3 (corn flour 50% : sago starch 40% : tapioca 10%), JST4 (corn flour 45% : sago starch 45% : tapioca 10%) and JST5 (corn flour 40% : sago starch 50% : tapioca 10%). The results show that the ratio of corn flour and sago starch were significantly affected the quality of instant noodles. The best treatment of this study was JST2 with, water content before frying of 10,73% (w/w), moisture content after frying of 6,39% (w/w), protein content of 7,42% (w/w), total acid number of 0,14% (w/w), the intackness of 95,36% (w/w), and rehydration time 10 of minutes 6 seconds.   Keywords: instant noodles, corn starch, sago starch

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1)  To identify the role of extension toward independent smallholder farmers of oil palm; (2) To know the empowerment level of the farmers; (3) To analysis the relation between extension’s role on  empowerment the farmers. This research  was conducted at keritang hulu  Village Sub-district Kemuning and Sencalang Village Sub-district Keritang Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Samples were determined by purposive sampling methods with consideration that the location has active extension activities and has farmers group. 60 independent smallholder farmers of oil palm were taken as respondent. Validity and reliability analysis has been done on the measuring instruments. Data’s analysis to acknowledge the first and second research purpose used Scale Likert’s summated Rating (SLR), whereas multiple linear regression used to acknowledge the third purpose of this research. The Result showed that: (1) The extension role is categorized enough, that are consisted of education, facilitation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation is categorized enough, while on, information  dissemination, and consultation is categorized have a role; (2) The empowerment level is categorized well, that are institutional and productive economy is categorized well, while on consisted of human resources is well enough; (3) Empowerment of independent small holder farmers affected significantly by the role of extension in facilitation and monitoring and evaluation, however the role of extension does not significantly affect on education dissemination consultation  and supervision of the farmers empowerments. Abstract

Vegetarian restaurants in Pekanbaru City has the advantage that might be presented in a fairly maximal effort such a strategic place, vegetables is the main menu with quite a lot of fans. The purpose of this research is to know the consumer perceptions and analysis the level of consumer satisfaction. This research was carried out at vegetarian restaurants Pekanbaru. Methods of analysis data using Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The results of this research is attributes is need to be maintained on a consumer perception that science is based on attributes in quadrant B (the cooking spices, cuisine’s taste, the cleanliness menu, parking facilities, and knowledge of the waiter about the menu, menu presentation speed, cleanliness and tidiness of the room, toilet hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen).  Attributes that should be fixed is in quadrant A (the size or portions food, intervals of payment and room decorating), and the customer’s level satisfaction with all  attributes of vegetarian restaurants by 83.20 percent through CSI analysis indicates that it totally is customers very satisfyied ranging from 0.80 to 1.00. Abstract

ABSTRACT The study is titled "Participation Extension Agent, guide Farmers and Farmers on P3TIP Program at Desa Bahal Gajah Kecamatan Sidamanik Kabupaten Simalungun". This study used a survey method. Aim 1) Knowing participation of extension workers, guide farmers and growers ((penanam dan tumbuhan)perkebunan, petani, investor, kultivator, petani, peternak) in the program P3TIP and 2) Knowing what are the problems faced by extension, guide farmers and growers to participate in the program P3TIP. The method used in the study is a survey method. Bahal Gajah village elections conducted by purposive sampling the achievements obtained the first example in the activity levels of the North Sumatera seed paddy rice. Samples were taken 25 farmers using purposive sampling (farmers active in P3TIP program), and also it was taken 1 extension and 1 farmer guides, so that the total sample was 27 people. Analysis of the participation of the respondents using a Likert Scale Scale's Summated. The results of the study illustrate the extension of participation are in the category of "High" with a score of 2.3, the farmer guides categorized as "High" with a score of 1.78, and farmers are also categorized as "High" with a score of 3.87 on P3TIP program. The problem faced by the extension that is participating in the planning as an educator and consultant, still have limited ability to P3TIP program. Problems faced by farmers guide is to facilitate farmers in developing partnerships to companies is still limited and the problems faced by farmers, namely the implementation of farmers meeting with investigators to discuss P3TIP. Abstract

UED-SPis a part of the Program Pengembangan Desa (PPD) in Riau Province aims to prevent and reduce poverty in village. The purpose of this research is to analyze the performance of social and financial UED-SP BUMDes Ngaso Mandiri Ngaso Village Ujung Batu district Rokan Hulu Regency. Analyzed using reachment and PEARLS analysis to assess financial performance 2008-2012. The results of this research showing the social performance of the range 1) fluctuated productivity staff, 2) fluctuated custumers number, 3) increasing the participation of women custumers , 4) distribution of loans in employment dominated by trade sector and 5) increased public awareness to save . Financial performance show rates of Protection isn’t ideal,rates of Effective Financial Structure at a rates of current assets, debt ratio , capital ratio indicates in ideal conditions , while the rates of savings ratio and loans outstanding indicates conditions are not ideal . Rates of Asset Quality in calculation of NPL are in ideal conditions and the rates of non productive assets in ideal conditions. Rates of Return and Costs in calculation of return ratio loans are in ideal conditions, the rates of operating expenses not in ideal conditions and the rates of net income to be in ideal conditions. Rates of Liquidity at a ratio of current assets not produce are not ideal.Signs of Growth Ratio in the calculation of asset growth, deposits and custumers institution are in ideal condition while capital growth and loans outstanding growth is not ideal.   Keywords: UED-SP Microfinance Institution, Social and Financial Performance

Abstract

Leading sectors has significan contribution economic growth and chages in economic structure. The objective of the study is to analysis economic structure based on PDRB, its role on economic growth, the chages in economic sectors and factor affecting economic growth in North Sumatera Province 2008-2012. This study uses secondary data in a time series for five years. The method of analysis used in this study is an analytical Location Quotient method and Shiftshare Approach method. The results show and know that the structure of the economy in North Sumatera Province have increased and more rapid growth occurs. Through analysis Location Quotient, there is a shift in economic structure from  primary sector to secondary and tertiary sectors. Abstract

This research have purposes to know the technical condition of oil palm seedlings in the Incubator Tenant In Wall Agribusiness Faculity of Agriculture Riau University and analyze income, and farm efficiency, the research is done at Incubator Agribusiness Agriculture Faculity Riau University. Sample is the descriptive qualitative and the analysist of farming Return Cost Ratio (RCR). The results of the research indicate that the condition of effort technical seedling the kinds of the palm breeding, topaz varietas, marihat varietas, and sain varietas by tenant in wall. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the development of Indonesia's natural rubber exports and analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian natural rubber in the international market. The data used in this study was a secondary data export raw natural rubber Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia during the period 1996-2010. The data was taken from the value and volume of exports of natural rubber in the international market. The analytical method used was the Revealed Comparative Advantage ( RCA ) and Constant Market Share ( CMS ). The results of this study indicate that the development of Indonesia's natural rubber exports tend to increase every year. The level of the comparative advantage of Indonesia's natural rubber exports relatively higher than Malaysia. Meanwhile during the period 1996-2006, the level of the comparative advantage of Indonesia was lower than Thailand. While during the period 2007-2010, the level of the comparative advantage of Indonesia's natural rubber is relatively higher than Thailand. This data indicated that Indonesia has a comparative advantage exports of natural rubber were getting better every year. From the CMS analysis note that the competitiveness of Indonesia's natural rubber exports more influenced by standard growth and competitiveness effects. This represents an increase of Indonesia's natural rubber exports more influenced by the growth of the world's natural rubber exports. Additionally, Indonesia also exports natural rubber has high competitiveness due to the excellence of product quality or better price.   Keywords: natural rubber, competitiveness , Revealed Comparative Advantage ( RCA ) , Constant Market Share ( CMS )
