Abstract

This research was conducted from May until June 2016 at Laboratory Aquaculture ofTechnology Faculty Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The purpose of thisresearch was to investigate growth and survival rate of striped catfish with probiotics dosage isdifferent in bioflocs techniques. This research using experimental method and completelyrandom design (RAL) one factor with three treatment there are P0: without giving probiotics(control), P1: probiotics giving 5 ml/m3, P2: probiotics giving 10 ml/m3, P3: probiotics giving 15ml/m3. The result showed that maintenance striped catfish with probiotics dosage is differentgiving affect significantly on the growth of absolute weight, absolute length growth, but notaffect significantly on the survival rate and food efficiency, specific growth rate and foodconversation rate (FCR). The best treatment were obtained in treatment three (P3) withprobiotics dosage giving 15 ml/m3 with value growth of absolute weight 7,08 gram, growth inabsolute length 3,85 cm, specific growth rate 3,69 %, food efficiency (EP) 70,06 %, foodconversation rate (FCR) 1,51, flock volume 2,1 ml and survival rate 58 %.Keyword : maintenance fish with probiotics dosage giving is different

Abstract

This research was conducted from March to May 2017, at Poncan Island. This study aims to determine the content of organic carbon in the leaf seagrass on different species in the waters of Poncan Island, Sibolga, North Sumatera. Tools and materials used in the field are transect rope, thermometer, pH Indicator, secci disk. The tools used in the laboratory are alluminium foil, oven, furnace, analytical scales and materials used in the laboratory is seagrass, sediment and H2O2 samples. This method uses the Survey method. The organic carbon content was analyzed by the method of sampling and the data was processed using the t-test. The results show the dock area and the area affected by the highest C-organic waste waste in the H. unninervis species. In mangrove areas and areas where there is no highest C-organic human activity is found in C. rotundata speciesKeywords : C-Organic Content, Poncan Island

Abstract

The research of coral reef was conducted in May in Tureloto Beach of North Nias, North Sumatera Province. The research was aimed to analyze the condition of coral reef and to observe coral reef base on diversity index, uniformity index and dominance index. The study used survey method by applying Line Intercept Trasect (LIT) which consisting of three main stations. Each station was divided into two sub depths, i, e. 3 and 10 m respectively. The type of coral reef in Tureloto Beach was fringging reef. Coral lifeform’s found in the area were Acropora Branching (ACB), Acropora Encrusting (ACE), Acropora Submassive (ACS), Acropora Digitate (ACD), Acropora Tabulate (ACT), Coral Branching (CB), Coral Massive (CM), Coral Encrusting (CME), Coral Submassive (CS), Coral Foliose (CF), Coral Meliopora (CME), Coral Heliopora (CHL) and Coral Mushroom (CMR). The conditions of coral reef at the depth of 3 m was bad with percentage of 19,23%, percentage conditions of coral reef at the depth 10 m is 54,06% with category its good. Keywords : Tureloto Beach, Coral Reef, Acropore

Abstract

Periphyton is a group of microorganisms that grow in some natural subsrates such as rock, wood, plants and aquatic animals. A research aims to understand the type and abundance of periphyton at smooth surface glass and rough surface glass in the Parit Belanda River has been carried out in March-April 2016. There are three station namely station 1 up stream, station 2 in the middle of stream, and station 3 at down stream. Sampling once/week for a 4 weeks period. The periphyton samples were brushed from the surface of glass substrate (8 cm x 3 cm). Type of periphyton was identified based on Bigg and Killroy (2000), Yunfang (1995) and Prescot (1974). Result shown that there are 36 types of phytoperiphyton are belonged to 4 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (17 species), Chlorophyceae (10 species), Cyanophyceae (8 species) Rhodophyceae (1 spesies), whereas zooperiphyton are belonged to 5 classes, namely Monogononta (9 spesies), Euglenophyceae (3 spesies), Crustacea (1 spesies), Adenophprea (1 spesies) and Insecta (1 species). The abundance of phytoperiphyton attached in the smooth surfaced glass was 18,790-25,230 cells/cm2 and the zooperiphyton was 1,400-2,540 organisms/cm2. While the rough surfaced glass, it was 20,780-30,450 cell/cm2 and the zooperiphyton was 1,280-1,470 organisms/cm2. Based on the composition of periphyton, it can be concluded that the Parit Belanda River can be categorized as eutrophic. Keywords: Parit Belanda River, Periphyton, Glass Substrates

This study conduted in november 2016 in Kepenghuluan Panipahan Laut Pasir Limau Kapas subdistrict Rokan Hilir Regency of Riau Province. This study aims to determinate, the factors are encouraging fishermen to migration in Kepenghuluan Panipahan Laut Pasir Limau Kapas subdistrict regency of Rokan Hilir, to determinate the factors are interesting fishermen to migration in Kepenghuluan Panipahan Laut Pasir Limau Kapas subdistrict regency of Rokan Hilir. The method used in this study is a survey method. The population in this study is all migrant fishermen who have lived in Kepenghuluan Panipahan Laut with the total population 15 respondents.Based on the results of the study that is the driving factor of fishermen to migrate due to reduced yield head seaward with an average 6,4 kg each day, the decrease of fisherman income in the area of origin with average fisherman income rp. 1.244.666/ month, the rights of fishermen are restricted so that the fishermen feel depressed and driven to get out of the area of origin, the establishment of communication between migrant fishermen with prospective migrant fishermen pushed out of the area of origin when hearing the potential news of the destination. Fishermen pull factors for migration in the region is many fishing catches with an average of 12.7 kg each day, high income in the destination area with an average rp. 3.534.000/month, freedom of fishermen in the destination area without any pressure, family factors that cause migrant fishermen are interested to move to an area of interest for their temporary shelter when migrant fishermen have not yet found employment. Keywords: Driving factors, towing, migration
