Abstract

Kampar Kiri River is located in Riau, there are fisheries and domestic activities that potential in affecting water quality. To understand the abundance of phytoplankton present in that river, a study has been conducted in July 2016. Samplings were conducted 3 times, once week, in 3 stations. Results shown that there are 11 species of phytoplankton present in the river. They were classified into three classes, `namely: Bacillariophyceae (4 species), Chloropyhceae (3 species) and Cyanophyceae (4 species). The average of phytoplankton abundance was around 359 – 1,392 cells/L. While the water quality parameters are as follows: temperature: 30 - 310C, transparency: 15.6 – 22.6 cm, pH: 6, DO: 3.8 - 4.1 mg/L, nitrate: 0.05 - 0.11 mg/L and phosphate: 0.19 - 0.23 mg/L. Based on the composition of pyhtoplankton, it can be concluded that the Kampar Kiri River water can be categorized as low.Keyword : Phytoplankton, Kampar Kiri River, Water Quality,

Abstract

The Nyiur and Enok Rivers merged and form a single river mouth in the Tanjung Pasir Village. Around the river mouth, however, many industrial and shipping activities may produce Pb and Zn pollutant that enter the water, accumulated in the sediment as well as in the meat of benthic organisms such as Cerithidea obtusa. To understand the concentration of Pb and Zn in the water, sediment and the snail, a research has been conducted on March 2017. There are 3 stations, around 3 km before the outlet of PT Sambu, in the outlet of PT Sambu and 3 km of PT Sambu. Samplings were conducted 3 times, once/ 2 days. Results shown that the highest concentration of Pb and Zn in water (0.0543 mg/L and 0.1767 mg/L), sediment (1.7469 ppm and 3.2720 ppm) and C. obtusa (4.9085 mg/kg and 8.1990 mg/kg) was in the station II. Abstract

 ABSTRACT                This research was conducted in January 2017, located in Kepenghuluan Panipahan Darat Pasir Limau Kapas Subdistrict Rokan Hilir Regency Riau Province.The aims of this research are to find out the pattern of marketing channel of blood cockles (Anadara granosa) in Panipahan Darat, to analyze the cost, profit and margin of the marketing of blood cockles(Anadara granosa) in Panipahan Darat, to know the efficiency level of marketing of blood cockles (Anadara granosa) in Panipahan Darat. The method used in this research is survey method that is by doing direct observation. The number of shellfish cultivators as many as 11 cultivators and farmers' cultivation methods are census. While the sampling of merchants in snowball sampling that consists of 4 merchant collectors, 2 wholesalers and 3 retailers.               The results showed that there are three patterns of blood cockles marketing channels in Panipahan Darat Pasir Limau Kapas Sub-district of Rohil Regency. In channel I the total marketing cost is Rp 420 per kg, total marketing profit Rp 3.580 per kg, and marketing margin of Rp 4,000 per kg. While at marketing channel II total marketing cost 760 per kg, total marketing profit Rp 2,240 per kg, and marketing margin Rp 3,000 per kg. For marketing channel III total marketing cost Rp 1,100 per kg, total marketing profit Rp 3,900 per kg, and marketing margin Rp 5,000 per kg. Viewed from the economic marketing efficiency of the three existing marketing channels Kepenghuluan Panipahan Darat Pasir Limau Kapas Sub-district of Rohil Regency, the marketing channel II is the most efficient marketing channel of shellfish with a low marketing margin of 30% and has a high fisherman's share value of 70%. Keywords: Analysis, cost, margin, Profit and marketing efficiency

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of liquid smoke to the quality of shredded tuna (Euthynnus affinis) during at room temperature storage. The method used in this study was experimental study by using Randomized Completely Block Design. The treatment was addition of liquid at variet composition, those were: no smoke liquid added as a control (A0), added with liquid smoke 4 ml (A1), 8 ml (A2), and 12 ml (A3), calculated based on gramsfish meat. The product of sheredded fish were stored at room temperature and observed on the right after processing, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks. The parameters used in this study were the organoleptic evaluation, included: appearance, texture, odor, and flavor, followed by proximate analyses, included: moisture, protein, fat, and ash, content of total phenols and total acid, pH and the value of TBA. The results showed that the highest quality of shredded tuna fish was produced by the addition of 4 ml liquid smoke (A1), with such criteria 7.4, texture 6.7, smell 6.7, flavor 7.3, water content 8.15%, protein content 39.84, fat content 24.10%, ash content 6.0%, total phenolic 12.78%, total acid 3.92%, pH 5.69, TBA value 3.02mg malonaldehid/kg sample. TBA value indicates the addition of 4 ml liquid smoke could reduce the increase of TBA value in shredded tuna fish and so extend this shelf life.Keywords: Euthynnusaffinis, Liquid smoke, Shredded fish

Abstract

The rapid growth of industrial sectors in various countries leads to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions (global warming) such as carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. One important aspect of reducing carbon gas is the maintenance of forests and oceans to store carbon. One of the potential marine resources as blue carbon is seagrass beds. Development of Poncan Island into a marine tourism area estimated will endanger the existence of seagrass vegetation that makes marine ecosystems as blue carbon is reduced, one of them which is Cymodocea serrulata. The research was conducted in March-May 2017 in the seawater of Poncan Island, Sibolga, which aims to determine the content of biomass, average of C-organic, and find parts of seagrass as the largest blue carbon. Sampling using a quadratic transect method performed at 3 station. The results show that the largest biomass and blue carbon of all research sites located in the Below Ground section (roots and rhizomes) with value is 27,57 gbk/m2 and 6,13 gC/m2. The highest average C-organic content in all research sites located in the root of the seagrass with value is 24,17%.Keywords: Global Warming, Seagrass, Biomass, C-organic, Blue Carbon, Poncan Island

Abstract

                                                      ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Mei 2017 bertempat di Laboratorium Teknologi Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Perikanan Kelautan Universitas Riau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan benih ikan gabus yang diberi pakan Tubifex sp dengan jumlah berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan wadah akuarium berukuran 40 x 30 x 40 cm3 dengan ketinggian air 10 cm sebanyak 12 unit. Pakan yang digunakan berupa cacing Tubifex sp, diberikan dengan dosis 15, 30, 45 dan 60% dari bobot tubuh ikan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen yakni Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan empat taraf perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Dari hasil penelitian perlakuan yang terbaik adalah pemberian pakan dengan dosis 60%/ bobot tubuh yang dapat menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan bobot mutlak (1,93 gram), pertumbuhan panjang mutlak (5,25 cm), pertumbuhan panjang spesifik (6,03%) dan kelulushidupan (86,11%). Kualitas air selama penelitian diperoleh pH 6,0-7,0, suhu 26-28 0C, DO 3,1-3,2 mg/l, amonia 0,01-0,05 mg/l. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan benih ikan gabus (Channa striata) yang diberi pakan Tubifex sp dengan jumlah berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan ikan gabus (Channa striata). Kata Kunci : Tubifex sp, ikan gabus, Pertumbuhan dan Kelulushidupan.

Abstract

This study was conducted on April 2016 on Balai Benih Ikan Pantai at Teluk Papal village Bantan subdistrict Bengkalis Regency Riau Province. The method used in this study by case study method . The respondents in this research are 3 person, there are 1 manager and 2 farmers. Based on research result that the Business of Tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) culture in ponds at Teluk Papal village have some conclusion, that is cost incurred for the culture of Tilapia it’s the fixed cost and variable cost. The fixed cost the issued to all compenents it’s of Rp. 11.010.000 with the depreciation of cost it’s of Rp. 517.000. For the variable cost components it’s of Rp. 42.432.000. This business get advantage or net income it’s of Rp. 14.651.000 per harvest. This business of Tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) farming in ponds declared unfit to continue. Because, provided the value of RCR > 1 with getting value it’s of 1,34. The times is needed for restore capital it’s for 3 years 6 months. Abstract

The Study was conducted in February 2017 in Sungai Piring village, Batang Tuaka subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir regency. This study aims to determine the workiload of women in the fishermen’s family from perspective gender point of view. This study using participatory actiob research (PAR) method. The objects of this study were the fishermen’s wives and the respondents were 20 wives with 3 informan. The research used purposive sampling and the methods of data collection was using observation, interview and documentation. The analysis technique that is used is descriptive analysis. The result shows that the workload of the fishermen’s wives are more difficult than their husband, it is proved by the working schedule fishermen wife which more intense than husband.Keyword: gender, workload, participatory action research (PAR)

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertjuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan konsentrasi HCl berbeda pada ekstraksi kandungan mineral kulit teripang pasir (Holothuria scabra). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan tiga tahap perlakuan yaituHCl dengan konsentrasi 6% (K1), HCl dengan konsentrasi 7%(K2), dan HCl dengan konsentrasi 8% (K3). Parameter yang diamati pada kulit teripang pasir segar yaitu kadar air 20,57%, kadar abu, 50,33%, kadar lemak 0,88%, kadar protein 14,87% dan kadar karbohidrat 13,35%. Komposisi pada tepung kulit teripang pasirmemilikikadar air 5,26%, abu 61,11%, lemak 0,38%, protein 17,02%, dan karbohidrat 16,23%, kandungan mineral pada kulit teripang pasirterdiri darikalsium 0,0043%, kalium 0,00023%, Natrium 0,00054%, Magnesium 0,0021%dan besi 0,00031%, serta rendemen tepung kulit teripang pasir sebesar 75,71%.  Kata kunci: Asam  klorida,Kulit Teripang pasir, Mineral.

Abstract

This study was conducted on 09-23 May 2016 is located in Sibolga Fishing Port. The purpose of this study to know on type and purse seine construction for sized vessels 30 GT. The method used was survey and observation. Observed object is purse seine used on vessels 30 GT. Data collection was performed by means of measurements on sample. It known that purse seine for sized vessels 30 GT in Sibolga Fishing Port include into purse seine American type, it known from the construction that shaped four rectangular. The characteristic of purse seine is part of that bag (muih 1) is located on the edge of the webbing, and only be operated by one vessel.Keywords: Construction of Fishing Gear, Purse seine, Sibolga Fishing Port
