Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of using fermented feed by probiotic to the growth rate, body weight, body length, survival, feed efficiency and feed conversion rate of pomfret (Colossoma macropomum) in recirculation system. The treatment in this study was the different dose of probiotic for the feed fermentation, and the doses were 9 ml / kg of feed (P1), 12 ml / kg of feed (P2), 15 ml / kg of feed (P3), 18 ml / kg of feed (P4) and control (unfermented feed). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The particular size of the Pomfret that were used around 5-6 cm were reared for 40 days in the tarpaulin cube tank (50 x 50 x 50) cm³ with 25 fishes/tank of fish stocking density. The fish were fed by addsatiation three times a day. The results showed that the effect of using fermented feed by probiotic significantly affected to absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, specific growth rate, food efficiency, and food conversion ratio but did not significantly affected survival rate. The best treatment was in P4 where the dose of probiotic was 18 ml / kg of feed which contributed 5.92% of specific growth rate, 8.25 grams of absolute weight growth, 2.91 cm of absolute length growth, 98.27% of food efficiency 98.27, as well as the food conversion ratio became 1.01. Meanwhile, the highest survival rate was in P3 (15 ml of probiotic/ kg of feed) which gave the 96 % of survival rate.Keyword: probiotic, Colossoma macropomun, resirculation systems

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitianinibertujuanuntukmengetahuikandungankimiadanmendeteksisenyawafenolikpositifpadaekstrakkasarSargassum sp. Metode yang digunakanadalahmetodeeksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 taraf perlakuan yaitu P1 (rasio pelarut1:3), P2 (rasio pelarut1:6) dan P3 (rasio pelarut1:9). Parameter yang diukuradalahmeliputianalisisproksimat(kadar air, kadarabu, kadar protein, kadarlemak, dankarbohidrat), rendemendananalisisfitokimia. Rangkaianpenelitianiniterdiridari 3 tahap, yaitu 1) preparasibahanbaku. 2) analisisproksimatSargassumsp.3) analisisfitokimia. HasilpenelitianmenunjukkanbahwakomposisikimiaSargassum sp. adalahkadar air 28,20 %bk, kadarabu 33,74 %bk, kadarlemak 4,54 %bk, kadar protein 8,42 %bk, karbohidrat 53,28 %bk. Rendemen P1 1,44%, P2 3,40%, P3 6,34 %. AnalisisfitokimiapadaekstrakkasarSargassum sp.positifterdeteksisenyawafenolik.Kata kunci : Ekstraksi, Fenolik, Sargassum sp.

Abstract

This study was conducted on 09-23 May 2016 is located in Sibolga Fishing Port. The purpose of this study to know on type and purse seine construction for sized vessels 30 GT. The method used was survey and observation. Observed object is purse seine used on vessels 30 GT. Data collection was performed by means of measurements on sample. It known that purse seine for sized vessels 30 GT in Sibolga Fishing Port include into purse seine American type, it known from the construction that shaped four rectangular. Abstract

This research aims to determine the addition of the good kinds papain enzyme for producing protein hydrolysate mackerel that has a value of precipitates and supernatant highest, the chemical content proximate of mackerel meat, protein hydrolysate, and amino acid total. The method used was experimental and composed as completely randomized design (CRD). The treatment were the used to generate the best proteins hydrolysate mackerel consisting of variety of different enzyme concentrations, namely: 6%, 8%, and 10%. Proteins hydrolysate mackerel were evaluated by precipitates value, supernatant highest, the proximate of mackerel meat and the proximate proteins hydrolysate mackerel level of water, ash, protein, fat and amino acid total. The results showed that the proximate of mackerel meat is water content 62,86 (%gw), ash content 7,05 (%dw), protein content 63,57 (%dw), and fat content 4,03 (%dw). The best kind of the concentration of the papain enzyme 10% because has the contents of presipitate 31,1 gr, the contents of supernatant 48,6 ml, but not significantly different from the value of the concentration of papain enzyme 8% of precipitate 31,4 gr, supernatant 47,6 ml. Thus, considering the use of 10% inadequate papain enzyme it can be replaced by papain enzyme concentration 8%. The result showed that the proximate from concentrate 10% is water content 86,91 (%gw), ash content 22,68 (%dw), protein content 45,30 (%dw), fat content 2,52 (%dw) and has 15 types of total amino acids consisting 8 types of essential amino acids and 7 types of non-essential amino acids, but not significantly different with treatment of enzyme consentration 8%.Keywords: Fish protein hydrolysate, Euthynnus affinis, Papain enzymatic

Abstract

ABSTRACT               This study was conducted in April 2017 by taking samples from four stations with three replications in each sampling station. The resultsof the study revealed that the highest nitrate concentrations in waters was 0,457 ± 0,2571 mg/L in Station 2, while the lowest nitrate concentration was 0,206 ± 0,0115 mg/L inStation 4. The most common planktonic diatoms species found were Isthmia sp and Hemialus sp. Linear regression analysis showed that the relationships of nitrate and  phosphate concentrations with diatom abundance  is shown as Y = 4744,7 + 5080,8x (R² = 0,1094; r = 0,330) and Y = 4767,2 + 9343x (R² = 0,0611 and r = 0,2471). Judging from the r value of those equation, the coastal waters of Panipahan can be categorized as having moderate (Nitrate) and weak (phosphate) fertility, respectively.  Keywords: Nitrate, Phosphate, Diatom Abundance, Panipahan Coastal Waters

Abstract

A Study vacuum and non vacuum packaging on the quality of fish balls malong (Muarenesox talabon) during cold storage temperature (±50C), has been carried out in June-July 2016. This research aim to understand the different of vacuum and non vacuum packaging on the quality of fish balls malong (Muarenesox talabon) during cold storage temperature (±50). The method used is an experimental method that perform method processing comperative malong fish balls are packed in a vacuum and non vacuum during cold storage temperature (±50C). The treatment in this study is a vacuum and non vacuum packaging. Meanwhile, as replication is the shelf life of 0,7,14,21 and 28 days, with the number of experimental units is 7 units. Parameter test in the organoleptic (appearance, aroma, flavour, and texture), chemical analysis (water and fat), and analysis of total plate count test (TPC). Furthermore, the data were analyzed using t-test. Treatment of the best views of the organoleptic test are on treatment with a value of such a vacuum packaging appearance value (5,55), aroma (5,11), flavour (4,66), texture (5,68), with a water content (59,13%), fat content (2,31%), ( TPC 5,20 cfu/gram).Keywors: Meatball, Muarenesox talabon, vacum package and non vacum package, quality

Abstract

This research was conducted in April 2016 located in Pondok BatuVillage, Sarudik Subdistrict, Tapanuli Tengah Regency, North SumateraProvince. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics offishermen's wive, to analyze the time division of the fisherman wife between therole of housewife and the additional income earner and to describe the role of thefisherman wife in increasing the household income. The method used in thisresearch is survey method. Respondents in this research is the wife of fishermanwho work outside the house amounted to 25 peopleBased on the research result that the role of fisherman wife in increasingthe household income of fisherman have characteristic that generally aged (16-45years old) is classified as very productive age with number 22 soul. Educationlevel of fisherman wife is elementary school graduate amounted to 14 soul, themost dominant family count is 6-7 with 13 souls. Experience of wife of fishermanwork that is> 8 year with amount of 17 soul. Curious working hours given by thefisherman's wife are as daily necessity traders around 84 hours / week, asprocessing of fishery products about 28 hours / week, as factory workers about 56hours / week and as animal raising around 28 hours / week. The average incomeearned by fishermen's wife every month from the profession as the processing offishery products as much as Rp.625.900, as a day-to-day trader of Rp. 350.000, asfactory worker of Rp. 500.000 and animal raising Rp.430.000Key words: Role, Fisherman’s wife, Pondok Batu

Abstract

The research of The Wisdom of Local Communities in the Preservation of Subayang River Ecosystems was Conducted in April 2016 at Tanjung Belit village Kampar Kiri Sub District Hulu Kampar Regency Riau Province. The objectives of this research are:(1) to describe the social characteristics, economy and ecology of Subayang River environment at Tanjung Belit village (2) to analyze the shapes and the development of local communities wisdom associated with the preservation of the Subayang River ecosystem at Tanjung Belit village. The method used in this research is qualitaive method with qualitative approach including observation, interview guided by quissionare and documentation.Based on the result of the researh  (1) social, economic and ecological with their customary forbidden forests and this prohibition hole is an event for the local community at Tanjung Belit village to keep the relationship betwen each other, prevent damage to the environmental of the forests and rivers and overcome forests damage and restoring environmental damage (2) shapes wisdom of local communities are ban on use putas, tuba and a stun, the  ban on cutting tress, use of simple technology in clearing and opening and closing the prohibition hole. Key words: The wisdom of Local Communities, Ecosystems, Subayang River

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the chemical, sensory and smoking yields of cultivated catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus). The samples were the catfish at the weight of 250 gs/eachobtained from thecultivation cagesin. Kampar River in the village of Sungai Paku in the Regency of Kampar the Province of Riau. The catfish were smoked in relatively low smoking temperature in between 50-70 C for different smoking time, namely: 4, 5, 6, and 7 hours. The smoked fish were observed for their smoking yield, chemical and sensory quality. The results indicated that the highest value of smoking yield was found in the catfish smoked for 4 hours (75%), followed by those smoked for 5 hours (65,33%), 6 hours (56,66%) and 7 hours (43,46%). The highest content of fat (11,72%) and water (50,61%) were found in 4-hour smoked catfish. The highest protein content (50,59%), as well as ash content (2,47%), were found in the catfish smoked for 7 hours. Overall, the highest score of sensory value of the smoked catfish was shown by the 7 hours smoking time, at average score of (8.10), and significantly different to catfish smoked for 4 (7,07), 5 (7,44), and 6 hours (7,91).Keywords: Chemical value, Hemibagrus nemurus, sensory value, smoked fish, smoking yield

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research was conducted for 45 days from of August until September 2017 in Pond and Hatchery Technical Attendence Unit Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Faculty University of Riau. The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of water filter system that can improve water quality parameters in tilapia fish aquaculture. The research method was experiment with four treatments and three replications. Recirculation system using (Po) control, while the recirculation system (P1) using zeolite, where a weight of each filter material was 270 g (P2) using charcoal and P3 recirculation system using poor sand. Treatment of P1 gave the best results of water quality, temperature 26 – 30 ᵒC, pH 6.4 -8.2, DO 5.7 – 6.8 mg/L, amonia (NH3) 0.04 – 0.21 mg/L, nitrite (NO2) 0.03 – 0.35 mg/L, nitrate (NO3) 0.54 – 1.57 mg/L, the absolute growth rate of 4.86 g, then an absolute length  growth were 3.86 cm,  a daily growth rate  3.61 %, survival rate of 98.33 %, and the food efficiency of 75.25 %. Keywords : Resirculation system, water quality, Oreochromis
