Abstract

Abstract: Village of West Bagan is a village with a population of the second largest fishermen in the district of Bangko, RokanHilir, Riau Province. Fishermen of the West Bagan village, land and sell their catch in private mediators. However, the facilities available are not enough to meet the needs of fishing supplies consisting of fuel, fresh water and ice. Therefore, this research with survey method was undertaken to obtain the development strategy of the facility by using SWOT analysis. From 9 units mediator were still active, taken 3 units mediator as representatives of large, medium, and small category namely are consecutevely Jumadi mediator, Lausi mediator, dan Asmara mediator. Based on SWOT analysis has been done on each of the mediators obtained one most likely to be develop is mediator Jumadi. In the diagram strategy, mediator Jumadi located in quadrant I with the highest coordinate value, which is a provitable situation. Recommendations strategyis progressive, which means the mediator has the opportunity and the power that can take advantage of existing opportunities. Abstract

The research was conducted in March 2017 by collecting samples of blood cockles (Anadara granosa) from Gemuruh Village Island coastal waters of Kundur Island, Karimun Regencyof Riau Islands Province. The study used survey method and the samples were collected from the intertidal area directly by hand. The resultsof this study showed that Cr content was found to be highest in medium size of the cockle in Station 1(0,7850μg/g), the highest Cu content was found in small size in Station 1(1,4983μg/g), and the highest Zn content was found in medium size in Station 2(24,9517μg/g). The results also showed that MPI values obtained from Gemuruh Village coastal waters was 2,0472. PTWI calculation derived from stations for Cr was 15,3374 mg/kg of body weight per week, Cu amounted to 1045,2839 mg/kg of body weight per week, whilst for Zn amounted to 2203,2374 mg/kg of body weight per week for the average of 70kg body weight. The concentrations of heavy metals in cockles from Gemuruh Village coastal waters can be considered as safe and accordingly there is no risk for the human consumption of these species as long as it does not exceed the suggested limit.Key words: Heavy metal, Anadara granosa, PTWI, Kundur Island

Abstract

 Abstract The research was conducted in July 2017 in the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory of the Fisheries and Marine Sciences Faculty University of Riau. The research was to determine the effect of ovaprim on ovulation and egg quality of silimang batang (Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus). The method used is an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. Treatment in this study were P0 (NaCl 0,9% dose of 1 ml / kg body weight) P1 (ovaprim dose of 0,3 ml / kg body weight) P2 (ovaprim dose of 0,5 ml/ kg body weight) and P3 (dose ovaprim 0,7 ml / kg body weight).The results of the research showed that the ovaprim doses 0.7 ml / kg body weight gave the optimum result inter of latent period (4,31 hours), number of egg striping (307 eggs / gram broodstock),the ovisomatik index (11,09%), increase the diameter eggs (0,145 mm) and percent increase egg maturation (21%). Keywords: Ovaprim doses, Ovulation, Ovisomatik indeks and egg quality

Abstract

Study was conducted in January 2016 at Pagarantonga village PanyabunganSubsdistrict, Mandailing Natal District, North Sumatra Province. The study wasaimed to analyze comparison costs, production and earnings between farm systemand rice farming by change product with fish farming (sistem selang) inPagarantonga village. Method used in research was survey with respondents about27 people were selected purposively sampling. Production costs incurred businessrice farming by change product with fish farming (sistem selang) higher than 143% farming rice in a year. The number of rice production in farming rice more 57.7% than the number of rice production business rice farming by change productwith fish farming (sistem selang) a year. Gross income and net income obtainedby farmers business rice farming by change product with fish farming ( sistemselang) higher 79 % and than 24.6 % farming rice in a year. Contribution giventhe business of fish farming to the total net income farmers rice farming bychange the product with fish farming (sisem selang) of 52.4 % .Keywords: costs, production, income, rice farming by change product with fishfarming (sistem selang)

Abstract

Research on the Relationship of Environmental Condition With Fisherman's Happiness was held in January 2017 in Limbungan Village, Rumbai Pesisir Sub District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. This study aims to determine what factors determine the happiness of fishermen and know the relation of environmental conditions with the happiness of fishermen. The method used in this research is the survey method that is used Spearman Rank and the number of respondents in this study are 30 respondents who processed using SPSS 20 applications.From the results of the research analysis, it was found that the happiness of fishermen in Limbungan Village was influenced by age factor, successful year, number of dependents, income, work experience, housing condition, social relationship, religious activity and security. From several factors, the relationship of environmental conditions with the happiness of fishermen in Limbungan village significant correlated with social relations with the value of rs = 0,393 * and religious activity with value rs = 0,424 *. Values on social relations and religious activities are categorized having a significant relationship will fishman’s happinees.Keywords: relation, environmental condition, fisherman's happiness

Abstract

 ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui optimasi fortifikasi tepung mikroalga Chlorella sp. terbaik yang dibutuhkan oleh bakteri Acetobacter xylinum dalam fermentasi Nata de coco. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) non factorial dengan empat taraf perlakuan yaitu C1 tanpa tepung mikroalga Chlorella sp. (urea5gr), C2 menggunakan tepung mikroalga Chlorella sp. sebanyak 2gr, C3 menggunakan tepung mikroalga Chlorella sp. sebanyak 4gr dan C4 menggunakan tepung mikroalga Chlorella sp. sebanyak 6gr, dan percobaan dilakukan tiga kali ulangan sehingga menghasilkan 12unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ketebalan nata, kandungan protein dan serat kasar tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan C4 dengan nilai 1,33 cm, 1,37% dan 1,00%. Untuk kadar air tertinggi diproduksi pada perlakuan C2 (95,92%). Nilai warna tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan C2 (7,64) dengan warna nata putih cerah, untuk nilai tekstur, nilai rasa dan nilai aroma tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan C4 dengan nilai (7,66), (7,10), (7,69) dengan karakteristik tekstur kenyal, rasa tawar dan tidak asam, aroma berbau tidak asam. Analisis variansi berdasarkan analisis organoleptik, fisik dan proksimat berpengaruh nyata terhadap fermentasi Nata de coco. Kata kunci:Fortifikasi, Mikroalga Chlorella sp., Sumber nitrogen, Nata de coco

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of vacuum packaging on sensory,chemical and microbiological quality of smoked catfish stored in cold temperatures (5±1°C). One hundrend fish which was taken from fish culture pond in Sungai Paku was hotsmokedat 60-100° C. The smoked fish was vacuum-packed in polypropilen bag and storedat 5±1° C for 49 days. Changes in quality were evaluated for sensoris, TBA, TVB-N, APC,ANPC, LAB and Staphylococcus aureus. The quality of vacuum-packed smoked fish duringstorage was compared to non-vacuum packed smoked fish. Sensory quality of vacuumpackedsmoked fish was not significantly different from non-vacuum packed smoked fish.TBA and TVB-N values were higher for non-vacuum packed smoked fish than for vacuumpacked smoked fish. APC value was also higher in non-vacuum packed smoked fish thanvacuum packed smoked fish, however ANPC and BAL were higher for vacuum packedsmoked fish than non-vacuum packed smoked fish; except Staphylococcus aureus countwhich were not different between the two smoked fish. Based on score 5 as a limit ofacceptibility, the vacuum packed smoked fish and non-vacuum packed smoked fish have ashelf life of 49 and 42 days respectively.Keywords: shelf life, smoked catfish, vacuum packaging,

Abstract

Tiger shrimp is one of the most popular fishery products in the world. H. scabra has been shown to be a potential antibacterial agent. Potential antibacterial extract from H. scabra can be derived from the presence of antibacterial agents i.e steroids, saponins and triterpenoids. Bacteria V. harveyi is one of pathogenic bacteria which according to some research can cause disease in shrimp cultivation. Diseases caused by vibrio bacteria are usually called vibriosis. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of antibacterial activity of sea cucumber extract (H. scabra) on the growth of V.harveyi bacteria on tiger shrimp (P. monodon), to know the character and structure of bacteria which is inhibited by sea cucumber extract (H. scabra). This research was conducted in August 2016 in Marine Microbiology Laboratorium of Riau University. Based on the results of research that sea cucumber extract has the ability to inhibit the activity of V. harveyi bacteria. Abstract

The area around the Parit Belanda Riverhas been used by human activity. Remains of the activity may enter the water and decrease the water quality of the river. To understand the water quality of the Parit Belanda River, a research was conducted in March-April 2016. There were three sampling stations namely Station 1 in up stream, Station 2 in the middle of the stream, and Station 3 in down stream. Samplings were conducted 4 times, once/week.Water quality parameters measured were temperature, transparency, velocity, pH,DO,CO2,nitrate and phosphate.Results shown that temperature: 29-30oC, pH : 5, DO:3.15-3.96 mg/L, CO2: 22.98-56.93mg/L,velocity : 0.9-0.27 cm/second, transparency: 30.75-38.75 cm, nitrate: 0.13-0.21 mg/L, and phosphate 0.25-0.33 mg/L. Nitrate concentration indicate that the Parit Belanda River was categorized as oligotrophic, but base on phosphate concentration indicate that the Parit Belanda River is mesotrophic.Keywords : River , Parit Belanda River, Water Quality, oligotrophic, mesotrophic

Abstract

This research was conducted in March until April 2017 at Fishery Portof Nusantara Palabuhanratu West Java Province. The purpose of this research is toknow the cause of difference of fish landing implementation in PPNPalabuhanratu with guidance of fishery landing fishery management ofDirectorate of Infrastructure. The method used in this research is survey method,that is by observing the elements - elements and management functions associatedwith fish landing facilities and activities in the VAT Palabuhanratu. From theresults of the research indicate that there are differences in the implementation offish landing activity in the VAT Palabuhanratu with guidance of fish landingmethod Directorate of Infrastructure Development. First, the ships that will bedocked will be given the queue number and the officer determines the demolitionsite, but the ship is closing its vessel on the dock unloading without thesupervision of the port officer. Secondly, the ship landed the fish at the frontloading pier of TPI and when it was completed the demolition of the vessel wassupposed to be transferred to the boat mooring dock, but that happened finishedunloading the catch, the ship was not directly transferred to the parking lot of theship, but parked his ship on the dock Unloading it.
