Abstract

This research was conducted from February to March 2017 in Pelawan Beach of Riau Archipelago Province which aims to study the pattern of current, tides and wave characteristics of Pelawan Beach. The method used in this research was survey method. Determination of stations for data collection, in 3 stations with 3 sampling points. The results showed that the mean of current speed at high tide was 0,48 m/sec (Southeast and East) and mean of current speed at low tide 0,46 m/sec (West and Northwest). The tide in this area is mixed tide type with dominant of semi-diurnal, which occurs twice of high tide and twice of low tide in a day. Characteristics of the waves ( height, period, length and slope) is plunging and formed beach type. The depth of the waters is sloping and shallow, ranges from 1,1 to 2,0 m. Current and wave conditions in Pelawan Beach waters are safe for coastal activity around Pelawan Beach. Keywords : Current, Tides, Wave, Pelawan Beach

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research was conducted in April 2017 located in Ombilin Singkarak Mareket, Rambatan District, Tanah datar Regency, West Sumatera Province. This study is appropriate for request of Bilih fish and to know the factors – factors that affect the demand of fish Bilih in Ombilin Market. The method used in this study is a survey method, where the determination of respondents to traders and consumers using the method of accidental sampling.            The result of the research shows that the demand of Bilih fish when the Bilih fish production is decreasing and the demand is increasing so the Bilih fish price is increasing due to the decreasing production. With the transition state of fish consumers. Factors – factors that effect demand Bilih fish in Ombilin Singkarak market that is equal to 99,6 %. Of 99,6 % factors that greatly affect the demand of Bilih fish in Ombilin Singkarak Market is the variable price of income (X4) of 0,000 namely Turiak fish (X3) of 0.142, Selera (D1) of 0.431 and time (D2) of 0.204 The effectiveness of Bilih fish demand in Ombilin Market is 99,6 % while the remaining 0,4 % ( 100% - 0,6%) not owned by the linear regression model. Keywords :Factors Affecting Consumer Demand, Bilih Fish, Ombilin Market

Abstract

In the Kampar Kanan River there are activities that affect the water quality in general and affect the abundance bivalve. To understand the abundance of bivalve in that river, a study has been conducted in February to March 2017. Parameters meansured were types and abundance of bivalve, temperature, depth, turbidity, current speed, pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrate and phosphate concentration. Relationship between bivalve abundance and organic material content was analyzed using a simple linear regression. Result shown that there were 5 bivalve spesies present, namely Anadonta woodiana (11/m2), Corbicula moltkiana (33/m2), Hyriopsis sp (4/m2), Pilsbryconcha exilis (10/m2) and Rectidens sp (3/m2). Consentration of organic material content in the sediment was 7.07 – 24.35%. There was strong relationship between bivalve abundance and organic material content (99.18%).Keywords: Bivalve, Kampar Kanan River, Organic Matter, Sedimentary Fraction

Abstract

Abstract            The effect of substitution and combination of feed on the growth and survival rate of gold fish larvae (Carassius auratus) was conducted on May to June 2017 in the Laboratory of Fish Hatchery and Breeding Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. The larvae were reared in 15 liters aquarium at stocking density 2 larvae/liter. A completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments, 3 replication was used evauate the kind of feed given to the larvae. The treatment were P1 (Artemia nauplii 30 days), P2 (Artemia nauplii 10 days+Tubifex sp 10 days+Shrimp pellet 10 days), P3 (Artemia nauplii 10 days+Shrimp pellet 10 days+Tubifex sp 10 days), P4 (Tubifex sp 30 days), P5 (Shrimp pellet 30 days). Results showed that larvae fed with Tubifex sp  can be substituted by Artemia nauplii as first feeding for rearing comet gold fish larvae for 30 days. The growth of fish comet larvae feed Tubifex sp significantly higher thaan those fed with shrimp pellet and artemia nauplii. The growth of comet larvae fed with Tubifex sp was 0,73 g (weight), 3,33 cm (length), 17,2 %/days (specific growth rate) 80 % (survival rate). The best combination of feeding was 10 days artemia nauplii + 10 days shrimp pellet + 10 days Tubifex sp. The water quality parameters during this research were: temperature 25-28oC, pH 5-7, dissolved oxygen 4,1-5,9 mg/l.Key words: Substitution, combination of feed, (Carassius auratus), growth, and survival

Abstract

This study was conducted in December 2016 in the village Pakningasal Bukitbatu District of Bengkalis in Riau province. The purpose of this study was to determine the conditions under which the basic amenities harbor dock and pool required by the fishermen in the village of Fish Marketing Sites Pakningasal. The method used in this study is a survey method that is by direct observation and collect information about the basic amenities and activities at The Village Fish Marketing Pakningasal. From the results of research conducted marketing place has 10 units fish-shaped pier jetty. The dock has a respective length of 3-7 m and has a height also varies between of 1 - 1.5 m from the seabed to the construction made of wood with a width of from 0.3 to 0.6 m. While the existing harbor pool area at The Village Fish Marketing Pakningasal not have enough wide and shallow. Extensive pool of currently available port is ± 800 m2 with a depth varying port basin. Keywords: Condition, Pier, Harbor Swimming

Abstract

Heterotrophic bacteria is bacteria that use organic substances as its nutrition sources. Organic substances are obtained from the rest of other organisms, waste or substances contained in the body of other organisms. This study aims to determine the activity of heterotrophic bacteria against pathogenic bacteria (Vibrio alginolyticus, Aeromonas hydrophila and Pseudomonas sp.). Total amount of bacteria at station 1 was higher than station 2, those were 2.3 x 107 cfu / ml at station 1 and 1.8 x 107 cfu / ml at station 2. Statistical analysis using the simple linear regresion indicated that the correlation between the growth of heterotrophic bacteria on environmental parameters (DO, pH, temperature and salinity) was very weak of wich correlation value(r) was 0.20  for all parameters. Antagonism test against pathogenic bacteria found that there were 8 bacterial isolates wich potentially inhibited the growth of the three pathogenic bacteria, the isolates were A11, A12, A14, A19, A21, A22, A23 and A25 with the inhibition zone ranges 4,8 - 14,5 mm. From the DNA sequences with 16S rDNA method and BLAST analysis, the bacteria isolates were identified asKerstersia gyiorum, Kerstersia sp.,Enterococcus sp. and three isolates was unidentified possibly due to these species hadnot registered in GenBank or had never been identified beforeKey words: Heterotrophic Bacteria, Antagonism, Estuary, 16s rDNA
