Abstract

AbstractFeatherback fish (Notopterus notopterus) is a type of freshwater fish that inhabit the Sail River. Pollutant that may contain heavy metals may contaminate the fish living in that area. Information on the content of  Cr and Cu in the fish living in that area is rare. To understand the Cr and Cu content in the liver, kidney and bone of the fish, a research had been conducted on December 2017 to January 2018. The fish captured was categorized into 3 groups, namely small (12.7-20.2 cm), medium (20.3-27.7 cm) and large (> 27.8 cm) sizes. Results shown that there were 35 fishes caught. The Cr and Cu content in the liver as well as the kidney increased as the fish growing. The Cr content was39.455 to 95.62 mg/kg in the liver and  34.025  to 65.29 mg/kg in the kidney, while the Cu content was 6.635 to 14.265 mg/kg in the kidney and 5.085 to 7 mg/kg in the liver. In contrast, the Cr and Cu content in the bone decreased as the fish growing, there was 76.79 to 20.31 mg/kg of Cr and 15.825 to 6.59 mg/kg of Cu content in the bone. Keywords     : freshwater fish, polluted river, heavy metal content, contaminated fish

Abstract

ABSTRACT         This research was conducted from April 5th, 2018 – May 10th, 2018 in Unit Implementer of Technical Territory, Teluk Papal village, Bengkalis-Riau. The purpose of this research was to knew the best dose of probiotic EM4 and influence in artificial feed to increase the growth of red tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus)and to determine the effect of giving probiotics in brackish water. The method of this research was used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, fivelevel treatments and three replications. Each treatments was given a probiotic addition of feedapplied P1(0 ml/kg), P2(5 ml/kg), P3 (10 ml/kg), P4(15 ml/kg) and P5(20 ml/kg). The results showed that the best treatment contained in P4 (15 ml/kg)with weight growth of 8,542g, absolute growth of 3,63 cm, specific growth rate of 4,501%, feed efficiency of 74,293%, feed conversion of 1,346 and survival rate of 100%. Keywords :Brackish water, EM Growth, Probiotics,Red tilapia fish(Oreochromis niloticus)

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of catfish(Pangasius suchi) protein concentrate (FPC) on the quality of seaweed flavored wet noodle. The method used in this research was the experimental method. The experiment was designedas completely randomized design (CRD) and the treatment was conducting by processing wet noodles, flavored with seaweed (Eucheuma cottonii)and addedwith the fishprotein concentrate at different amounts(0, 5, 10, 15 %). The results showed that the best quality of seaweed flavored noodle was produced by addition of 15% FPC. It was indicated by the highest value of appearance 6.7, aroma 7.4, taste 6.9 and texture 7.0.The proximate composition of the best product was showing the nutritional value contained the moisture of 43.37%, the protein of 55.81%, and the ash of 1.23. keywords:wet noodles, catfish, nutritional content

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research was conducted for 50 days from August to September 2017. At Laboratory of Aquaculture Technology, Marine and Fisheries Faculty, University of Riau. The aim of this research was to know the effect of artificial feeding with a different percentage of the growth and survival rateof Red Tilapia by using biofloc system on peat swamp water. This research was using experimental method by completely random design (RAL) one factor with three replication. The fish used in this research with size 5 - 7 cm.The result showed that feeding with a different percentage of growth and survival rate of Red Tilapia by using bifloc on peat swamp water. In addition, it also affected the absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, feed efficiency and feed conversion ratio. The optimal dose was at FR 5% by giving the absolute weight growth was 4.46 g, absolute length was 4.48 cm, feed efficiency was 88.46%, feed conversion ratio was 1.12, and survival rate was 95.83%. Key word : Red tilapia,Biofloc, Growth, Feeding rate, Peat swamp water

Abstract

AbstractHampalamacrolepidota is a carnivorous  fish that inhabit the Kampar Kiri River, Mentulik Village. In the Kampar Kiri River there is waste from illegal gold mining, domestic waste, and floating cage aquaculture activities that pollute the water. The pollution may negatively affects small aquatic organisms that represent as prey for H. macrolepidota. To understand the type of food consumed by H. macrolepidota, a study has been conducted from  February to April 2018. Sampling was conducted 4 times, once/ 2 weeks for a two months period. There were 52 fishes captured, 19 fishes had full stomach and the others had empty stomach. Fish stomach was dissected, and each type of stomach contents was identified and weighed. Results shown that the content of the fish stomach consists of fish, leaves, and insect remains. The main food of H. macrolepidota is fish (Preponderance Index 90%).Keyword:Cyprinidae, Feeding Habit, Index of Preponderance, Carnivore fish.

Abstract            Hemiramphodon pogognathus is one of freshwater fish that inhabit the Freshwater University of Riau. To understand the stomach content analysis of this fish, a study has been conducted from November-December 2017. The analisys was conducted using volumetric method. Sampling was conducted once/week for a month period. There were 66 fishes captured. Stomach content of the fish was anlyzed as a basis to calculate the Preponderance index (PI).Result shown that the main food ofH. pogognathus is insects (PI 98.85%) debris (PI 0.73%) and plant (PI 0.78%). Based on the data obtained, this fish can be catorized as carnivore. Keyword: Stomach content, Hemiramphodon pogognathus, Index of PreponderanceCarnivore,

Abstract

ABSTRACTSeagrasses are plants adapted to live fully in the marine environment. Seagrass plays an important role in coastal areas due to critical habitat for many kinds of marine animals such as fish, mollusks, crustaceans, echinoderms. This study was conducted from March 2018- May 2018 at the Seagrass Beach Conservation Area of Trikora Regency of Bintan Riau Island which aims to know: the density of each seagrass species and the change of seagrass area based on the mapping in 2006-2018. Sampling is done at three stations, namely Station I residential zone, Station II natural seagrass zone and Station III zone tourist resort. Sampling and measurement of water quality was done by using quadratic transect. The results obtained 8 (eight) seagrass species that was of Cymodoceaserrulata, Enhalusacoroide, Halodulepinifolia, Haloduleuninervis, Halophilaovalis, Syringodiumisotifolium, Thalassiahemprichii, Thalassodendronciliatum. The highest seagrass density obtained at Station II is 487.11 tegakan/m2 in the low seagrass areas. Referring to the criterion of seagrass density according to Braun-Blanquet that seagrass with density> 175 is very tight. The result of the change of seagrass area in 2006-2018 happened addition area of 122 ha, thus there is influence from TRIMANDES (activityTrikoraSeagrass Management Demonstration Site)onseagrass community. Keywords: Seagrass, Density, Area, Trikora
