Abstract

Abstract                Organic matter is one indicator of environmental fertility either on land or at sea. Content Organic matter in the waters will experience an increase caused by discharges from households, agriculture, industry and organic waste from land to coast. The objective of this research is to know the input of organic material entering the waters of Cermin Beach and to know the content of organic material in water and sediment in the waters of Coast Mirror and the relation of organic matter content to water and sediment. The result of calculation of organic matter content in water ranged from 14,19 - 34,76 mg / l and the content of organic matter in sediment ranged from 0,33 - 8,90%. Furthermore, through simple linear regression test known that the relationship of organic matter content in water and sediment has a weak relationship with the correlation r = 0.137. The analysis of sedimentary fractions in the Coastal waters of Mirror is dominated by sandy substrates.  Key Words : Organic Matter, sediment, Water Of Mirror

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research was conducted on August to September 2017 in the Technical Services Unit (UPT) of Hatchery, Marine & Fisheries Faculty, Universitas Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine the best dose of carbon source addition of molasses in biofloc system toward growth and survival rate of red tilapia in brackish water media. The method in this study was the experimental method of completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, four treatments and three replications. P1:  carbon source addition by 50 ml /m3 of molasses dose, P2: carbon source addition by 100 ml /m3, of molasses dose, P3: carbon source addition by 150 ml / m3 of molasses dose, and P4: carbon source addition by 200 ml /m3 of molasses dose. The results showed that the best treatment of carbon source additionwas at the 200 ml/m3 (P4)of molasses dose. The specific growth rate was 4.25%, 132.29% of feed efficiency, feed conversion ratio (FCR)was 0.75, survival rate (SR) was 81.67%, floc volume was 4.61 ml/l. The qater quality parameters consists of temperature was arround 26-310C, DO was 4.13 to 6.83 mg/ l, pH was 7 to 7.6, 16-20 ppt of salinity and ammonia was from 0.0718 to 0.3625 mg/ l. Keywords: Molasses, Biofloc, Red Tilapia (Oreochromis sp)

Abstract

ABSTRACTBivalves are biota that live in the bottomof waters that can be used as bioindicators to predict water quality. This research was conducted in March-April 2018 which is located in intertidal zone of Sungai Cingam Village of Rupat Sub-district. Thisresearch aims to know the characteristics of habitat, species and density bivalvia. The method used in this research was survey method and determination of sampling location by purposive sampling. Measurement of water quality parameters was done in situ ie temperature, salinity and pH. Substrate type there are2 types of muddy sand and sandy mud. Organic matter is very low and very high. Suspended solids are low and high. Water quality parameters are still favorable for the life aquaticorganisms. Type of bivalves found there are 5 species of Meretrix meretrix, Polymesoda expasa, Pharella acutidens, Pilsbryoconcha exilis, Corbicula javanica. The highest density is at station 3 that is 5.89 ind/m2. The lowest density is at station 1 that is 4.89 ind/m2.Keywords: Habitat Characteristics, Species, Density, Bivalves.

Abstract

Abstract This research is done to know technical aspect that is general construction, operation technique, catch and also environmental friendliness of kelong bilis fishing gear. This research was conducted in April 2018 in Malang Rapat Village Gunung Kijang District Bintan Regency Riau Islands Province. Kelong bilis is a passive fishing gear and is operated at night by using lamp light as a fish pulling factor and usually operated by two fishermen only. Kelong Bilis fishing gear has a size of 12x11 meters and the mesh size is 10x9 meters made of black nylon (Polypropylene) and  meshsize 0.1 mm. Kelong Bilis's main catch is Anchovy (Stolephorus sp) and Kelong Bilis’s by catch are Cumi cumi (Loligo sp) and Tamban (Spratelloides delicatulus). Based on the results of the research and the results of interviews conducted on 20 respondents using a weighting system of 9 criteria of environmentally friendly fishing gear according to FAO (1995), kelong bilis fishing gear is a very environmentally friendly fishing gear with score 31.7.Keywords: Technical Analysis, Environment Friendly Level, Kelong bilistechnical aspect that is general construction, operation technique, catch and also environmental friendliness of kelong bilis fishing gear.
