Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in July 2018 with the aim to determine the metal content of Zn, Cr and Cu in brown Algae (Sargassum sp.) From Bungus Waters of West Sumatra Province and to determine the value of Metal pollution index (MPI) in Bungus Waters of West Sumatra Province.Determination of sampling location using purposive sampling, namely by considering the state of the research area. Sampling was carried out in areas with relatively different anthropogenic activities and analysis of heavy metal content was carried out at the Marine Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The results showed that the Zn metal content in brown algae ranged from 55,033 - 70,250 µg / g, where the highest concentrations were at Station 3 and the lowest at Station 1. The concentration of Cr metal in brown algae ranged from 18,500 - 32,833 µg / g, where the highest concentration was found in Station 3 and the lowest at Station 1. The concentration of Cu in brown algae ranges from 2,833 - 7,500 µg / g, where the highest concentration is at Station 3 and the lowest at Station 1. The MPI value of Bungus Waters of West Sumatra Province is 19.44, the value is still normal when compared with research conducted in other regions using Algae samples.Keywords: Zn, Cr and Cu metals, Brown Algae (Sargassum sp.), Bungus waters

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to know the sea cucumber Holothuria atra  bioactive compounds and antibacterial activity of sea cucumber Holothuria atra  extract against bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The methods used in this research is descriptive method i.e. extraction with methanol, test of phytochemicals, fractionation with a solution of butanol, hexane and ethyl acetate, and test the antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria using diffusion method with concentrations of 50%, 75% and 100%. The data obtained are presented in the form of tables and images. Results showed extracts of methanol the sea cucumber Holothuria atra detected compounds containing bioactive i.e. component steroids or Terpenoids, alkaloids, saponins and phenolic. The test results and the antibacterial activity the extracts of methanol the sea cucumber Holothuria atra against bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa diameter inhibition of bacteria ranged from 8,61 to 12,25mm and of three types of fractions used hexane fraction has a more dominant antibacterial potency with diameter inhibition of bacteria ranged from 13,46 to 14,63mm. Based on the results of research that the methanol extract of sea cucumber Holothuria atra has potential as an antibacterial. Keywords: Antibacterial, Extracts, Bioactive Components, Faction

Abstract

                                Abtrak  This research was conducted on August until September 2018 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, Riau University. The purpose of this research to determine the population of Daphnia magna were cultured on different media and stocking density that generates the highest population. This research method used is an experimental method. The experimental design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with factorial design 2 factors which consisted of factors A: Media different that Banana Stem 12 g/l, Cabbage12 g/l, Water Hyacinth 12 g/l and factor B: Solid different initial stocking 100 ind/l and 200 ind/l as many as 6 treatments, 3 repetitions so obtained 18 experimental units. Media and stocking density is real (P<0,05) effect on the population Daphnia magna. The best treatment of Daphnia magna population during the 24 day study period generated by treatment of KP2 (Cabbage 12g/l+ Stocking Density 200 ind/l) with an average value of 283. While the lowest for the treatment population BPP1 (Banana Stem 12 g/l +Stocking Density 100 ind/l) with an overall average of 111 ind/l. Based on the results of observations of phytoplankton abundance in each treatment the highest was KP2 (Cabbage 12 g / L + stocking density 200 Ind/l) with a total of 6,934,738 ind/ l while the lowest was BPP1 (Banana stem 12 g / L + 100 stocking density ind/l) 2,147,532 ind/l. Water quality during the study showed a good range for growth of Daphnia magna is Temperatures range between 24,0- 30,10C °C, and pH ranging from 7, 2 - 8,1.  Keywords : Media, Stocking density, Population, Daphnia magna

Abstract

ABSTRACT Bivalve is benthic animal that lives on the bottom and surface of aquatic substrate. The community structure of bivalves is influenced by the changes in environmental factors. This research was conducted in July-August 2018 in the coastal waters of Nagalawan Village, Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatera Province.The aims of the research were to determine the structure of the bivalve community which includes species, abundance, relative abundance, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance index and distribution patterns. Sampling used the line transect method at 3 stations. The results of the study found 9 bivalve families consisting of 11 species. The abundance value obtained was in the range of 4.22-7.30 ind./m2. Diversity index values ranged from 1.21-1.6, which are classified as moderate, while the uniformity index value ranges from 0.18-0.26 which is unbalanced. The dominance index value ranged from 0.38-0.5, i.e there are species that dominate. The distribution pattern values ranged from 3.03-3.07 with clustered distribution patterns. Keywords: Bivalves, Community Structure, Nagalawan Village

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in July 2018 at the Belawan Ocean Fishing Port, Bagan Deli Village, Medan Belawan Sub-District, North Sumatra Province, about the system for purse seine.This research aims to find out the application of the profit sharing and wage system received by fishermen owners and cultivating fishermen in purse seine business.The method used in this study was a survey method with a total of 42 fishermen purse seine. The results showed that the profit sharing system of purse seine anchored in Belawan PPS was after deducting production costs, for Mini Purse Seine vessels 67.9% for owner fishermen and 32.1% for labor fishermen. The most revenue from the profit sharing of mini purse seine is the income of the owner's fishermen totaling IDR.54,447,900, - per trip while the least income from the profit sharing of the business is the ABK's income of IDR. 1,718,800, - per trip. While Big Purse Seine ships are 67,6% for owner fishermen and 32.4% for labor fishermen. The income that is the most from the profit sharing of big purse seine is the income of the owner's fishermen totaling IDR. 105,600,200 - per trip while the income that is the least from the profit sharing of big purse seine is the income of the crew amounting to IDR. 2,111,600, - per trip. In the fishery profit sharing system law no.16 in 1964 laborers obtained a minimum of 40% of the net proceeds and for fishermen the owner gained 60%. If UUBHP No. 16 of 1964, the income of the labor fishermen per trip for the Seine Mini Purse is IDR.2,548,000 per person. Whereas the owner fishermen get Rp. 48,141,000, -. For Seine Big Purse ships the income that should be received by labor fishermen is an average of IDR. 3,328,500, - per person, while the owner fishermen get IDR. 93,760,500, -.  Keywords: Fisherman Revenue, Local Revenue Sharing, Revenue Sharing According to UUBHP

Abstract

                                                             Abtrac               This research was conducted from September to November 2018 in the fish breeding and breeding laboratory (PPI) Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different natural feeds and the best natural feed on the growth and survival of black ghost fish larvae (Apteronotus albifrons). The method used in this study is the experimental method that uses one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments with three replications. The treatment applied in this study is P1: Feeding Artemia sp. (40 days) P2: Feeding Water Lice (40 days), P3: Feeding Tubifex sp (40 days), P4: Feeding Earthworms (40 days). The results showed that the best treatment of different natural foods was found in Tubifex sp. Maintenance of black ghost fish larvae produces absolute weight growth values of 0.73 grams, growth of absolute length of 3.71 cm, specific growth rate of 13.28% and livelihood of 91.00%. Water quality during the study was temperature ranging from 26.2 - 28.50C, pH ranged from 6.9-7.7 and DO was 5.2-6.3 Keywords : Natural Feed, Artemia sp, Water Lice, Tubifex sp., Earthworm,                Larvae of black ghost fish (Apteronotus albifrons)

Abstract

Abstrack This research  was conduted from February to March 2018 in Kuok Village, West Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency and laboratory of Parasites and fish Diseases, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine,Universitas of Riau. This study aims to determine the health  status of fish seen from the total erythrocytes, total leukocytes, hematocrit values, and hemoglobin levels, to stres levels in the Cultivation pond of Kuok District. Kampar Regency. The method used in this research is the survey method in three diffrent locations,  namely in the Kuok Village Cultivation pond one, two, and three ponds. The type of feed given is in the form of commercial pellets which are given adlibitum three times a day.Sampling was done three times with a span of 10 days, the number of fish examinet  was  90, each measuring 8-12 cm,  the fish obtained  from the pond are  then taken  using  syirenge 1 ml which has been moistened with  10% EDTA solution and  then the blood is put into the eppendorf tube, then stored in a coollbox and taken to the parasite and  fish disease Laboratory, to calculate  the total erythroxy, total  leukocytes, hematokcrit value, and hemoglobin level. Based on observations of hematological parameter of siam jambal fish (pangasius hyphothalmus) total first erythrocyte sampling cells, one pond, 216x 104 cells/ mm3, two ponds 224x 104 cells/mm3 and three ponds at 221x 104 cells / mm3.  Then the  hematocrit value in pool one is  16.00% pon two 16,06 % and pool three is 14,13. Hemoglobin level one pond is 8,46 g/dL, pool two  9,43 g/dL while the total pool leukocytes  were 193x 105 cells/mm3 and two pools were 142x 105  cells / mm3  and three pouds were 138x 105 cells/mm3.Key Words:  Hematologycal, Pangasius hyphothalmus, cageculature, pond.

Abstract

ABSTRAK This research conducted on Juli 2018 to analyzed and compared the contain of Cr, Cu and Zn on E. cottonii from 3 station with different activity for each station. This research also to analyzed the consumption feasibility and the status of metal pollution using MPI (Metal Pollution Index). The result showed the average of concentrate of Cr 2,147 µg/g, Cu 0,9811 µg/g and Zn 9,3061 µg/g. The index value of metal pollution was 2,69 showed that the condition of water pollution at Moro, district of Karimun, Riau Island Province still at low condition. E. cottonii seaweed from this Moro's water thought that still safe for consumption as long as no more than 3,03 kg/week for Cr, 1020,83 kg/week for Cu, and 210,30 kg/week for Zn. Key words : Metal Pollution, Seaweed, E. cottonii, Riau Archipelago Province

Abstract

ABSTRACT     The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of dry skin shrimp (Acetes arythraeus) sauce with different fermentation time and salt concentration. The treatment was fermentation time (L): 20 days (L1), 30 days (L2) and 40 days (L3), and different salt concentration (G) 15% (G1), 20% (G2), and 25% (G3). The results showed that the addition of different salt concentration and fermentation time to the production of dry skin shrimp sauce had a very significant effect on taste and aroma values. L2G2treatment was the best treatment with characteristics ofaroma was specific of dry skin shrimp,the taste of the spices was specific and felt salt and dry skin shrimp, meanwhile for the color was no effect at all. The contained of proximate values of protein, ash, and amino acids were 10.54%, 18.26% and4.92%, respectively.Meanwhile fat content was no significant effect.Keywords: dry skin shrimp sauce, fermentation time, quality.

Abstract

ABSTRAK  This research was aimed to determine the best amount of yellow sweet potato flour on processing of catfish (Pangasiusdjambal)meatballs. The method used in this study was the experimental method that was processing the catfish meatballs substitued with yellow sweetpotato flour. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non factorial with 4 treatment levels and 3 replicates. The treatment was the different concentration of yellow sweet potato with 4 treatment levels: Bo (without addition of yellow sweet potato flour/control), B1(25 g of yellow sweet potato flour), B2 (35 g of yellow sweet potato flour), and B3(50 g of yellow sweet potato flour) with 3 replicates. The parameter used in this research was organoleptic (appearance, texture, aroma, and taste) and chemical analysis (moisture, fat,protein, and ash content). Based on the result showed that B1 treatment was most preferable by consumer acceptance(98,43%) which characteristics of appearance was brown grayish colour, specific aroma of catfish meatballs, soft and chewy texture, spices flavor. The proximat analysis of moisture, fat, protein, and ash content was 73.07%, 1.59%, 14.91%, and 1.66%, respectively. Keywords: catfish meatballs, consumer acceptance, substitution
