Abstract

Abstract        This study aimed to determine the best concentration of papain enzymes on fish protein hydrolysate, including non-protein nitrogen, proximate chemical composition, yield, and total amino acids. This research was carried out in 3 stages, namely 1) preparation of fish meat, 2) Making of fish flour, 3) Making of fish protein hidrolysate. The results showed that the use of papain enzymes had affected significantly to the characteristics of the protein hydrolysate and the concentration of papain 14% was the best concentration in making the mudskipper protein hydrolysate. The product contain of non-protein nitrogen was 8,2259 mg/l, water was 65.00% (w/w), ash was 8.83% (d/w), fat was 1.67% (d/w), and protein was 80.00% (d/w).   Keywords: enzym papain, hydrolysis of protein, mudskipper

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was aimed to determine the effect of fortification of dry skin shrimp (Mysis relicta) protein concentrate on atom crackers processing. The method used was an experimental method using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 levels of treatment of namely without adding dry skin shrimp protein concentrate (K0), 5% of dry skin protein concentrate (K1), 10% of dry skin protein concentrate (K2), and 15% of dry skin protein concentrate (K3). The parameters measured in this study were organoleptic test, moisture, protein, fat, ash content and flower power. The results showed that the addition 10% of dry skin shrimp protein concentrate (K2) in the processing of atom crackers was most preferable by consumer acceptance with an average value of like (35 panelists) and like extremely (41 panelists) which was 43.75% and 51.52%, respectively. The characteristics of atom crackers were brownish appearance (3.59), distinctive aroma of dry skin shrimp protein concentrate (3.45), savory flavor of dry skin shrimp protein concentrate (3.43), and crispy texture (3.53). Meanwhile for chemical values of moisture, protein, fat, ash content and flower power were 3.14%, 13.96%, 3.82%, 1.38%, and 125.18% respectively. Keywords: Atom crackers.Concentrate.Rebon shrimp

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to find where the supply of fish in Duricame from, Duri City is a city with poor water conditions resulting in a lack of fish supply originating from the area itself, while people's demand for fish exceeds the supply of supplies originating from the Duri area. Therefore, to meet the needs of the community in consuming fish, the distribution of fish from outside the region was carried out so that the fish supply in the Market of Duri was able to meet the demands of the community. Data analysis using descriptive analysis, the method used in this study is the survey method, the data collected includes primary data and secondary data. Primary data is obtained from collector traders through direct interviews using prepared questionnaires, while secondary data is obtained from related agencies. Fish marketed in Denai are imported market from various regions including sea water fish supplied in the Denai market came from the Aceh region, Sibolga, TanjungBalaiKarimun, Riau Islands, and West Sumatra. While freshwater fish supplied in the Denai market come from Maninjau, TalukKuantan, Kampar, KampungPatin. The fish supplied in the Denai Market consist of sea water fish such as sarai, big fish, tuna, tuna, ray fish, gambolo fish, belida fish, baung fish, selais fish. Whereas freshwater fish consists of cork fish, tilapia, eel, gouramy fish, sepat fish, siamsepat fish, catfish, catfish and betok fish. Abstract

Abstract Monopterus albus is one of  freshwater fishes that inhabitthe swamp area of Sawah Village, Riau. A research aim to understand the information of stomach content and its relation to size, sex and environmental condition has been done in March to May 2018.The fish was captured using fishing rods.Sampling was conducted 9 times in two months. The analysis was conducted using a volumetric method. Type of food present in the stomach content of the eel was analyzedas a basis to calculate the IP (Index Propenderence).There were 105 eels captured.Result shown the feed of M. albus consist of fish, mollusk, insects, and plants. The main food of M. albus was insect (IP 63%). There are same of main food in female, transition and male eels. The main food of female, transition, and male eels was insects. The water quality parameter are as follow : temperature 28-30oC, depth 60-75 cm, dissolved oxygen 4.3-4.5 mg/L, and pH 5-6. Based on data obtained it can be concluded that the Monopterus albus a carnivore fish.  Keywords: Belut air tawar, makanan ikan, Index of Preponderance, ikan karnivora

Abstract

 Abstract  Asian softshell turtle ( Amyda cartilaginea) used to nest in the Indragiri River bank, especially in the Lubuk Terentangvillage. Characteristics of nesting area preferred by the softshell turtles, however are almost unknown. A research aimed to understand the nesting area characteristic ofthe turtlewas conducted from May- June 2018, coincidence with the nesting time of the turtles. Parameters studied were the slope of theriver bank, distance between the nest andwater edge, sand texture, types of vegetation around the nest, number of nest present and water quality of the IndragiriRiver. Results shown that the softshell turtle nestswere found only in the Eastern part of the Lubuk Terentangvillage. The River bank slopein the nesting area ranged from 1.56–1.72%, distance between water edge and the nest ranged from 29 – 31.5 m, substrate texture was dominated by sand (>91%), the number of nest present in Eastern was 3 nest,the nest temperature was 29–38 0C and nest humidity was 45–75 %. Water quality of the Indragiri River are as follows: temperature was29-330C, current speedwas0.14- 0.35 m/s, turbidity was 12.99- 20.75 FTUand pH was 6. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purposes of research were to analyzed technical aspect of boat lift net fishing gear and to assessed economical aspects of asset, cost, revenue, and profit. To count the BCR (Benefit Cost Ratio), PPC (Payback Period of Capital) and FRR (Financial Rate of Return) for financial fishing analysis.The research was conducted in July 2018 in Bungus Oceanic Fishing Port (PPS Bungus) West Sumatera Province. The method used in this research is survey method. Primary data collection directly by involved the fishing operation and interviews with the questionnaire to get information data the financial analysis. The secondary data was collected in research-supported instantions. The result of the research shown, boat lift net fishing gear construction consists of building charts, masts, waring, waring frames, rigging and rollers. Boat Lift Net fishing gear use the ship with 21 m long and 5,5 m width. The ship use Mitsubhishi machine with power120HP to operate in the sea.The average revenue of fisherman was Rp 1.956.400.000,- with total cost Rp 1.740.950.000,- per year and profit Rp 215.450.000per year. The result of a financial analysis were BCR 1,12,- , PP 5 years and 19% for FRR. From these result, fisheries business with boat lift net fishing gear in Bungus Oceanic Fishing Port West Sumatera province  is profitable and feasible to do. Keywords : Technical Analysis; Financial Analysis; Boat Lift Net Fishing Gear; Bungus Oceanic Fishing Port

Abstract

ABSTRACTFiddler crabs (Uca spp.) is a type of crab that lives in the mangrove ecosystem. The presence of illegal logging and domestic activities affect the mangrove ecosystem as well as related organisms, including fiddler crabs. This research aims to understand the structure of crab community (Uca spp.) in the mangrove ecosystem of Sungai Rawa, and it was conducted on March 2018. The fiddler crab samples were collected from 3 plots (1m x 1m) placed along the transect line. Crabs in the plot are collected manually, three times, once/ week. Results shown that there were 4 species of fiddler crab, namely Uca jocelynae, Uca dussumieri, Uca triangularis and Uca vocans.Among these species, the most abundant was Uca dussumieri. The crab abundance ranged from 22,963 to 88,519 organisms/ha. The value of diversity index was (H’) 1,514-1,974 the dominace index was (C) 0.259-0.368 and the uniformity index was (E) 0.955-0.987, the water quality parameters are as follows : temperature was 28-30 oC; pH was 7.3-7.7; salinity was 28-31‰ and disolved oxygen was 5.1-6.2 mg/L.Key words: Crab community, Uca dussumieri, Mangrove ecosystem, Mangrove organism

Abstract

AbstractResearch on the effect of feeding frequency and feeding rate on growth, feed eficiency and survival rate of java barb larvae (Puntius javanicus Blkr) was conducted on 26 June-4 August 2018 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding, Pinang Mancung Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra. In this research the larvae were rearing in aquarium sized 40x30x30 cm filled with 15 L of water. Each aquarium was stocked two larvae per L.The experimental design useda completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors, namely feeding frequency with three levels: two times/day (F2), three times/day (F3) and four times/day (F4). The second factor was the feeding rate with three levels: P25 (25 %of  body weight), P50 (50 % of body weight), P75 (75 % of body weight).To minimize errors, each level of treatment was repeated 3 times. The best growth rate in the treatment of F4P75 (feeding frequency four times/day with feeding rate 75% of body weight)with an absolute weight of 2.45 gr, absolute length 3.45 cm, average growth rate of 14.78 %/day, feed eficiency 24.56 % and survival rate 98.88 %. The condition of water quality is the water temperature 24,6-27,90C, pH 5,3-6,7 and dissolved oxygen 5,1-6,0 mg/l. Keywords : Puntius javanicus Blkr, feeding frequency, feeding rate, growth, feed eficiency, survival rate.

This study aims to see the effect of the fishing line arrangement on the catches of trolling line. The method used in this study is a experimental and research conducted during 5 days of arrest. Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research was conducted in February – March 2019 in Rawa Mekar Jaya Village, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of mangrove ecosystems, to know the level of participation and perseption of the stakeholder. The method used was the survey method. The results showed that the mangrove forest in Rawa Mekar Jaya Village has the potential to be a mangrove ecotourism area and has a diversity of flora and fauna. The level of community participation in the development of mangrove ecotourism in Rawa Mekar Jaya Village is high, while the level of public perception is classified as supporting the medium category. This means that the community strongly agrees if their area is developed as an ecotourism area and has a positive impact both ecologically and economically. Keywords: Ecotourism, Mangrove, Participation, Perception, Rawa Mekar Jaya Village
