Abstract

This study was conducted in May 2013 in the waters of River TaraiDistrict of Kampar Regency Mines. While the analysis of parameters of BOD,COD, TSS and ammonia performed at the Laboratory of the Department of PublicWorks, Pekanbaru. This study aims to determine the impact of the disposal ofliquid waste on water quality River Village Tarai Tarai district of KamparRegency Mines aspects of physics (pH, temperature, flow velocity, TSS, depth)and chemical (DO, BOD, COD, Ammonia. From the research this can beconcluded that, wastewater effluent know an impact on the physical and chemicalquality of river water Tarai as TSS increased, the depth and speed of flow, BOD,COD, pH and NH3. overall impact of discharges liquid waste into the waters ofriver Tarai still not exceed the assimilation capacity of the river Tarai based on theavailability of dissolved oxygen conditions which still meets or is above theminimum requirement of fish life, which is 3 mg /l.Keywords: Liquid waste to know, the river waters tarai

Abstract

This study was conducted for 45 days from March to April 2013, inLaboratory Breeding Unit of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine SciencesUniversity of Riau. The aim of the study was to determine the growth and rate ofseed (Mystus nemurus CV) using a biofilter taiwanese clam (Anadonta woodianaLea) on aquaponic system. The method used in this study was experimen with 1factor and 3 treatments. The treatments were stocking density of 5, 10, and 15taiwanese clam (Anadonta woodiana Lea) of each treatment.The results showed that stocking density taiwanese clam has significantlyaffect on the water quality of ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, growth rate and survivalrate of seed. The best result was achived by treatment P3 (15 tawanese clam).Total absolute growth weight was 16.63 grams, 2.20% daily growth rate andsurvival rate of 81.67%.Keywords: Aquaponik, Biofilter, Taiwanese Clam, Mystus nemurus CV

Abstract

This study was carried out in May 2012. It aimed to find out on the stageextent of suspended solid in the west coastal waters of Bengkalis, in Riauprovince. This study used survey method and van Dorn sampler to collect thewater samples at 7 stations of the study area. The National Standard Method ofIndonesia for suspended solid analysis was used to deal with the main goal of thestudy. The result showed that the average stage of suspended solid was differentfor all stations. The considerable one was found in the station 4 comparing to theother stations. It caused station 4 was located at the confluence of the tidal currentpatterns come from the Malacca Strait low tide that come with the current of theriver around the west coastal water of Bengkalis.Key word : Suspended Solids, Water Of Bengkalis

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the quality of smoked selais fish is stored at roomtemperature using different curing methods. five types of smoked selais fish were preserved usingliquid smoke from laban’s wood with treatment concentration of 6%, 8% which soaked in liquidsmoke rough, and concentration of 6%, 8% in the distillation of liquid smoke, immersion time 60and 90 minutes as the traditional fumigation control. Smoked selais fish were observed for 10, 20,30, 40 days. The results indicated that the smoked fish have a good and uniform quality of alltreatments, with the organoleptic quality assessment, water contain, pH, and peroxide.Keywords: Cryptopterus bicirchis, liquid smoked, laban wood

Abstract

The research was conducted in March 2013 with the object of Tilapia (Oreochromisniloticus). The research objects are counted by the number of heartbeats different currenttreatments. The purpose of this study was to determine the heart rate of tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus), a basic knowledge of predicting the rate of metabolism andrespiration and heart rate also determine the activity of tilapia at different swimmingspeeds, in the process of catching up with the use of active fishing gear. The higher theflow rate used in tilapia fishes the heart rate up, and seen in the relative heart rate rangingfrom (1.1 to 3.78), a portrait that fish require a lot of energy so that the fish is alsoincreasing the body's metabolisme.Keywords: Heartbeats, Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), Flow, Size Fish

Abstract

This research was conducted on 3rd until 10th January 2013. This study aims todetermine how much of the investment and operational costs , feasibility andproblems faced by fish farmers in the cultivation of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) infloating net cages in Silalahi III village. The method used in this research is astratified random sampling method with respondents are 8 farmers were divided into3 categories.The results of this research indicate that business investment tilapia farming infloating cages for cultivation category I is Rp.82.743.750,-/unit cultivation withoperational costs Rp.66.846.917,-/period, for category II the investments be requiredRp.167 928 125,-/unit cultivation with operational costs Rp.130.933.792,-/period andinvestments for the cultivation of category III is Rp.397.521.250,-/unit cultivationwith operational cost Rp.317.654.250,-/period. The value BCR of tilapia fish farmersin the village Silalahi III is between 1.1968 until 1.234, value of FRR is 31.79% until37.41% and the value of PPC 5.35 period until 6.29 to period. Based on the analysisof the research, we conclude that the business is financially profitable and feasible tobe developed. The cultivation are most feasible to be developed based on the resultsof the analysis of feasible is a cultivation that occupied by farmers category III withBCR value is 1,2340, FRR 37.41%/year and PPC is 2 years and 8 months. Theproblems faced by farmers in the cultivation is a mortality of seeds cause the seed cannot adapt to the environment and the farmers have not been able to deal with adisease that occurs in fish.Keyword: Silalahi III village, investment, BCR, FRR, PPC, Oreochromis niloticus

Abstract

This study was done in June 2014 in the concervation area of Kasiak Island, Pariaman City, West Sumatera. The aim of study was to observe the species composition and its abundance of clown fish ( Amphiprion sp. ). The method used was quadrant transect. The data was analysed by t-test for among stations.The study resulted that 2 species of clown fish,i.e. Amphiprion akallopisos and A. ocellaris, were recorded. The abundance for each station categorized as low, withe the value ranged from 0.03 ind/m2 – 0.24 ind/m2. The most abundant fish found was A. akallopisos,i.e. 18 individuals at station I. The diversity index ranged 0.764 – 0.811, the dominance index ranged 0.115 – 0.405, whereas the eveness index ranged 0.625 – 0.654. The study in general, did not see the difference in fish abundance among the station.Keywords: Type, Abundance, Clown Fish, Kasiak Island, West Sumatera

Abstract

This study was done in June 2014 in Rindu Laut coast of Purnama Village of Dumai City. The field sampling was using the method Line Transect Plot. The mangrove in the study area had 6 families with 10 species, i.e. Xylocarpus granatum, Rhizopora apiculata, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Bruguiera cylindrica, Ceriops tagal, Lumnitzera littorea, Avicennia marina, Sonneratia alba, Excoecaria agallocha and Nypa fruticans. The mangrove species that dominated in this area was Xylocarpus granatum and Rhizopora apiculata. Based on the diversity, density and water quality parameters indicated the condition of the mangrove in the study area of was at the medium stage. Parameters of the environment enough to support the growth and development of mangrove forests, it can be seen from the condition of aquatic and a substrate muddy bottoms. The calculation of the value of the dominance Index (C) ranged from 0.16 to 0.58, indicating no type of mangrove species dominating the study area.Keywords: mangrove, the structure of the community, diversity, Rindu Laut, Dumai

Abstract

The research was conducted from October until December 2013 at marinewaters of Rokan Hilir Regency Riau Province. The purpose of this research was toinvestigate the chlorophyll- content using Aqua MODIS satellite image whichwas presented in the form of a map. The method used was case study method. Theresults showed the chlorophyll- concentrations were not varied greatly. InOctober and November 2013 the lowest values were 0,71 l and 0,69 mg/lrespectively, whereas the highest value in both months was 1,73 mg/l. Thechlorophyll- values in December 2013 ranged from 0,77-1,91 mg/l. The studyfound that the high values of cholophyll- in general were shown increasingtowards the coastal areas.Key words : Chlorophyll- , Aqua MODIS and Rokan Hilir Regency

Abstract

This research was conducted from march until April 2014 in fish Farming technologilaboratory of faculty of fisheries and marine science university of riau. This research purposes toknow type and abundance of phytoplanktons and absorption of ammonia on arican catfish(clarian gariepenus) cultivation, differences of stoking density with bioflok technique.Experimental metods using completely random design (RAL) with one factor and faour leveltritment, each treatment done in theree times deuteronomy. Stocking density on each treatmentbegins from 20 fishes in one place for P0 40 fishes for P1 60 fishes for P2 and 80 fishes for P3by administering molasses and for each place P1-P3 as probiotics 20cc. Best result of this reserchis solid stocking 80s with total abundance 16303 indl/L, it is supported by parameter of waterquality in each treatmant where water quality consist of : temperatur 27-320C, pH 7-7.9, DO1.55-3.03 (mg/L), CO2 7.13-15.31 mg/L, phosphat 0.6173-1.2978 (mg/L), nitrate 0.5854-10.4236 (mg/l) and total organic material of water is 12.331-15.441 (mg/l).Keywords: bioflok, the phytoplankton, the quality of water
