Abstract

AbstractMany anthropogenic activities are conducted along the watershed of the Sail River and thus producing pollutant that may enter the water. As the pollutant may contain heavy metals, the metal trace might be found in the water’s suspended solid.  A research aims to understand the Pb and Cdcontent in the suspended solid from the   river has been conducted in February-March 2019. Sampling were conducted 3 times, once/ 10 days and samples were taken from  3 stations, namely upstream   (Station I), middlepart (Station II) and downstream   (Station III). Results shown that the average of suspended solid in theupstream was 149 mg/L), in the middle part was 237 mg/L and in the downstream was 114 mg/L. The average of  Pb and Cd content in the suspended solids from the upstream was 0.00046 mg/L and  0.0364 mg/L respectively, from the middle part was  0.0030 mg/L and  0.0303 mg/L. While the average of Pb and Cd content in the TSS from the downstream was 0.0024 mg/L and   0.0248 mg/L respectively. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that the Sail River waters has been contaminated by  Pb and Cd.Keywords :heavy metals, river pollution, anthropogenic waste, Plumbum, Cadmium

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted in 2018 at the Port of Fisheries in Palabuhanratu, Sukabumi, West Java. This study aims to determine the distribution of how the distribution of fishermen's catches landed at PPN Palabuhanratu. One of the functions of the fishing port is as a center for marketing and distributing catches. Palabuhanratu is a fairly large port in West Java and has the potential in the distribution of catches. Palabuhanratu Fishery Port is the center of fisheries activities, especially in the aspects of production, processing, distribution and fostering fishing communities. The distribution of catches at the Port of Palabuhanratu Fisheries has several important aspects including catching landing, managing and marketing the catch. Marketing of fishery products from the Port of Palabuhanratu Fisheries in the form of fresh fish and processed fish products (salted and pindang fish). Distribution destinations include Palabuhanratu (local) and inter-city distribution including Sukabumi, Jakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Cicurug and Cianjur. The destination areas for distribution between provinces include Banten and Surabaya. The distribution of catches is carried out to give value to the catches. The value of the catch that is distributed is very dependent on the quality of the catch.Palabuhanratu has two forms of marketing activities namely through TPI and not through TPI. The fish which are marketed through TPI are not auctioned properly because the fish auction in Palabuhanratu has not gone well. Keywords : Fishing Port, Distribution of catches, marketing the catch

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Trichopsisvittata is one of the freshwater fish that commonly present in Riau, including in the Riau University Dam and the main ditch of the PERUMDAM housing complex. Information on the biological aspects of these fish, including the morphometric, meristic and growth patterns, however, is rare. To understand the morphometric and characteristics of these fish, a study was conducted from October-December 2019. The fish was sampled from 2 locations, namely in the Riau University Dam and in the main ditch of the PERUMDAM housing complex, 4 times, once/ week. There were 200 fishes captured, 100 fishes from the dam and 100 fishes from the ditch. They were 29-54 mm SL and 4.12-5.7 g BW. Twenty six morphological characteristics measured and 11 meristic characteristics were studied. Results shown that the meristic characteristics are as follows D.II.6-8, P.6-8, V.5-10, A.VI-VII.24-28, C.11-13.The number of scales in the dorsal fin was 12-18 in the cheek was 8-9, around the body was 38-40, in the tail basewas 14-16, above the lateral line was 6-8 and below the lateral line was 10-12. There were 3 differences of morphometric characteristics between male and female of Trichopsisvittata. In male, the distances betweenmouthand the base of the pectoral fin, the abdominal fin to the base of the anal fin and the length of the anal fin is longer than those of the female’s. The length-weight relationship of female (b = 0.222) and the male (b = 0.302) was negative allometric. Keywords:freshwater fish, negative allometric, growth patterns, fish morphology
