Abstract

Fatty acid alkyl esters found in nature in the form of esters of glycerol with fatty acids or hydroxyl groups are also formed with the phosphate ester such as phospholipids, the usual method used to form fatty acid alkyl ester is by esterification, interesterification, alcoholysis and asidolisis. Transeterifikasi reaction is a reaction between oils (triglycerides) to produce alcohol Fatty acid alkyl esters. One commercial product is the plasticizer. Plasticizers from bio-oil production is still very limited, it is necessary to develop a bio-oil-based plasticizers. In this research, the synthesis of plasticizers by transesterification reaction using an activated natural zeolite catalysts to H-zeolite, with variations in temperature (140 oC, 160 oC and 180 oC) and the composition of the H-zeolite (10%, 15%, and 20%) weight-based waste oil catfish, with a fixed variable is the molar ratio of 1:6, the reaction time of 6 hours and stirring speed 200 rpm .. Transesterification of the test results showed that the temperature and composition of the H- zeolite catalysts affect reaction rates for the reaction to reach equilibrium. The best operating conditions obtained in this study is 160 oC temperature, catalyst composition 15%, stirring speed 200 rpm and reaction time 6 hours reaction resulting in a conversion of 23.4%. Characteristics of plasticizers produced in this study meets the standards of commercial plasticizers viscosity 8.33 mPa s, Specific Gravity (30 oC) 0.85 and saponification number is 137.308 mgKOH / grSampel.

Abstract

Currently humans are exposed to future unclear with looming crises , such as the energy crisis , social crisis , the food crisis and many other crises that might befall human life in the near future . Before the days of modern society manages natural resource that describes an ongoing (Sustainablity) . Permaculture offers techniques and ideas that help us towards the environment , culture , and a healthy society . Therefore , an idea arose to design a facility that can accommodate the Agriculture Training activities for the community to determine the manner and form and space patterns with a mass order Permaculture approach to the concept of Green Architecture. That uses energy-efficient management of healthy plants with hydroponics and agricultural way of open , to facilitate the activities of the education and training of Pekanbaru Agriculture House . In terms of architectural , Permaculture approach applied to the processing site, the arrangement of masses , and the pattern of spatial relations . as a means to help the farming process.Keywords : Agriculture House Pekanbaru , Permaculture , Green Architecture.

Abstract

Environmental problems are often encountered in our country at the moment is flooding during the rainy season. At the time of rain with high intensity and for a long time causing flooding in several areas in Duri City, one of which is Jalan Sudirman. Jalan Sudirman is one of the centers of economic activity in Duri City. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the drainage system, calculate the discharge and channel capacity is needed, as well as identifying problems puddle / flood at Jalan Sudirman in Duri City. Rainfall data used in the form of daily rainfall data for 11 years at the station to determine rainfall Kandis plan to use when the 10 year anniversary and plans rainfall obtained at 129.071 mm. Of the map area rainfall runoff and discharge plans in the region count to get the dimensions of the channel plan. The results of the study showed that at some point the catchment area of the existing channel has dimensions smaller than the dimensions of the channel plan. Existing channel capacity can be maximized by means of normalization, namely repair of damaged canal walls, dredging and increased sedimentation of channel dimensions.  Keywords: floods, rainfall, drainage systems, channel dimensions

Abstract

Soil improvement technique was first introduced by Vidal, 1966, by using a metal strip as soil reinforcement on structure reinforced earth. Soil improvement techniques suited to reinforcement materials used in the structure of soil retaining walls, road structure, the base of the bridge, and repair slopes. Proven by use steel reinforcement, in addition to structure flexible and easy in implementation, can also reduce deformation both vertical and lateral directions. Selection is based sand graded well as the properties it owns, among tractable in employment stack, including the last ingredient, and not cohesive strength is not affected until the rate of moisture. Pull out resistance scale laboratory use plain steel reinforcement diameter 10 mm with the direction and shape of the power profile is retrofitting the longitudinal direction, transverse direction, square-shaped profile, the profile of triangular and square-shaped profile combination. Each test used optimum water content (OMC) and tensile stress normal to be used only on reinforcement overburden soil. In testing using shaped reinforcement square profiles obtained resistivity values greater pull out resitance than the pull out resistance value using directional and other forms of reinforcement profiles. Abstract

Teluk Belitung is located in Padang island, subdistrict Merbau, Kepulauan Meranti district with area of 1348.91 km2. Teluk Belitung coast is located in Asam the Strait directly related to the Melaka Straits and the South China Sea led to the current in the Strait acids affected by wind season (Monsoon). It causes waves in the Strait of relatively large during the rainy season. Because of ocean waves directly on the coastline, Teluk Belitung coast and the surrounding Islands are a relatively easy type of peat decomposes and reduced crop coastal protection (mangroves) as a binder, causing a serious erosion problems along the coast of Teluk Belitung. That requires an analysis of the rate of coastal erosion on the Teluk Belitung which is very important in order to mitigate natural resources and maintain the viability of the local community. This study uses historical data of high-resolution aerial images based Remote Sensing technology integrated with GIS (Geographic Information System). The data used aerial photographs for 24 Year ie 1989, 1996, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2009, and the result showed that 2013. accretion occurred along the 158, 311 m or 6.60 m / year and abrasion occurred along 292.397 m or 12.80 m / year. While the extent of the accretion occurs at 84.333 ha or 3.514 ha / year and the extent of abrasion that occurs at 151.972 ha or 6.332 ha / year.   Keywords: shoreline change, abrasion, accretion, remote sensing, Landsat.

Abstract

This thesis aims to analyze the water supply system investment Duri city. City water needs spines increasing in line with population growth and urban growth. Currently the water supply held by PDAM, but its capacity can not meet all the needs of the citizens, to be sufficient, the water supply system needs to be developed, one of which is by way of searching for new sources of raw water. Source of raw water in the city is very limited capacity spines and long distances. Raw water sourced from Sungai Jurong II to supply raw water 140 liters/sec for PDAM Tirta Dharma Duri which is about 26 km. Analysis of investments in PDAM Tirta Dharma Duri performed by analyzing the use of the Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), Break Even Point (BEP) and Internal Rate Of Return (IRR) to determine the water supply system of investment and determine the price of water from the source of raw water to PDAM Tirta Dharma Duri IPA. Abstract

Clean water fullfilment become a common problem and yet to be solved  especially for isolated countryside area. Clean water can be defined as daily needs water and its quality should fullfil the requirement of healthy water based on laws and can be drinked when it is cooked.  High demand of clean water for peat area community  made this research to be important. The utilization of simple water treatment system is expected to solve the problem of clean water for the comunity. The purpose of this research is to determine effective thickness comparison of the surface filter. Treatment method used in this research is biosand filter with media of gravel and quartz sand. Water quality parameter tested are pH, color, solution degree, and organic contain (KmnO4). Statistical analysis used in this research is One Ways Varian Analysis (Anova). The result of the research shows that biosand filter able to improve the quality of peat. Thickness Comparison of the Surface Filter at the Biosand Filter have a significant influence on the value of the solution degree. Biosand filter can generate maximum efficiency in raising pH value of 33,90%, lowering peat water solution level of 82,56 %, lowering peat water colour value of 87 ,98 % and also lowering organic content of 83,88 %. Abstract

Electric motors are much in use as a driver, especially the motor current (DC). One pengotrolan motors direct current (DC) is controlling the direction of rotation. in this case the direction of rotation of the electric motor control (DC) can be applied as the driving gate in everyday life, so as to open and close the gate can be done remotely with a web interface. With the use of computer technology is remote controlling a DC motor with a web interface as the driving gate. controlling the direction of motor rotation direction will be shaking the gate is open or closed. To be able dimamfaat output signal from the computer port required a series of small signal driver that can be used to drive the object to be controlled remotely so that it can mengerakan perputran motors. When relay 1 works then brush motor will get a positive voltage source positive and negative brush motor is connected to the negative pole of the voltage source. Thus, the motor will work the gate open. In the same way to move the contact relay 2, then the opposite conditions occur that the motor will rotate the opposite direction of rotation, so that the gate is closed.  Keywords: direct current motor, control, relay computer port.

Abstract

Waters demand in District of Mandau is a concern because of population growth and increasing water shortages in the dry season . Therefore, needed a new alternative source of raw water to meet water needs in District of Mandau deep water channel of a new raw water source required transmission pipelines to the water treatment plant. Then the required study of several alternative raw water transmission pipeline system. The results of this study can be concluded from the results of population projections obtained percentage of water services in 2013 amounted to 24 %, in 2017 amount 29 %, in 2022 amount 30 %, in 2027 amount 35%, in 2032 amount 53 %. Water demand planning used 4 alternate with 4 different discharge to increase the supply of raw water supply in District of Mandau which only amounted to 80 liters/sec. Simulation of the raw water transmission system for District of Mandau obtained is expected to be a guide in the planning pipeline for PDAM Tirta Dharma transmission Duri.Keywords: waters demand,PDAM, transmission system
