Abstract

Bagan Kota has a potential to cause noise from swallow breeding. Local communities that are constantly exposed to noise have the potential to affect people's comfort and health. The purpose of this study was to determine the intensity of outcome noise by swallow breeding, mapping of distribution pattern of noise and noise control prevention. The noise measurement method refers to the noise mapping method and the tool used is the Sound Level Meter (SLM). Measurement based on noise mapping method is carried out for 2 days, that is on Sunday and Monday. The results of the study showed that from 113 measurement points, there were 6 points on Sunday which showed numbers that exceeded the quality standard and 23 points on Monday showed a number that exceeded the quality standard. The highest noise level is 79.01 dB where this point is the source of noise and the lowest noise level of 47.96 dB which is quite far from the noise source. Noise mapping uses the Arcgis 10 program to determine the distribution pattern of noise caused by the noise mapping method. Based on the results of Arcgis 10 shown by different colors, namely red, orange, yellow, light green and dark green. The noise control prevention that can be carried out are engineering control and administrative control.Keywords: Noise, Noise Mapping, Arc.GIS 10, Urban Bagan Village

Abstract

PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja in its operational activities has the potential to generate noise coming from urea fertilizer production Workers who are constantly exposed to noise have the potential to affect workers' health and comfort. The purpose of this research is to know the intensity of noise generated by urea fertilizer production machine, exposure time, map of noise distribution pattern, and noise control effort. The noise measurement method refers to the noise mapping method and the tool used is the Sound Level Meter (SLM). Measurement based on the noise mapping method is done for 1 day. The results showed that from 115 points of measurement, there were 2 points showing numbers that exceeded the quality standard. The highest noise level is 86.6 dB where it is very close to the noisy source, and the lowest noise level is 65 Db which is far enough from the noisy source. Based on the calculation using NIOSH formula from 115 point of noise mapping method, there are 113 dots showing exposure time above NIOSH recommended standard. The highest noise level was 86,6 dB with a duration of 5,1 hours and the lowest noise level was 65 dB with a duration of 8000 hours. Sound mapping using the Surfer 13 program to find out the pattern of noise distribution caused by the noise mapping method. Based on the results of Surfer 13 shown by different colors of blue purple green yellow orange and red. Abstract

The increasing amount of plastic waste raises its own problem for the enviroment. The prolem is caused by the difficulty of biologically decomposing of the plastic waste. Various efforts have been made to reduce plastic waste. One way to use plastic waste is to process it into liquid fuel through the pyrolysis process. The study aims to determine the effect of each temperature variation and percent of catalyst from the activated carbon on the yield produced by the polypropylene type plastic, and characterization of the resulting liquid fuel. The pyrolysis was carried out at a temperature variation of 3000C, 3500C, 4000C, and the percent of the catalyst variaton from the activated from 5%, 6%, 7%, and without the catalyst, with a reation time of 120 minutes. The results of this study produced the highest yield of 70,03% at 4000C by adding catalyst from activated carbon by 7%. The characterization of the fuel produced was 0,870 gram/ml in density, kinemati viscosity at 2,868 eSt, flash point at 520C, and calor value at 44,696 Mj/kg.Keyword: liquid fuel, heating value, pyrolysis, polypropylene, active carbon.

Abstract

One most important service aspect of Trans Metro Pekanbaru is a bus stop. Trans Metro Pekanbaru Bus Stop is a place where passenges get on and off from the Bus as well as a place to transit from one to another place orderly, smoothly, safely, and comfortable. Thecondition of bus stop must suit the well-construct building that it can be comfort and be a shelter from the sun and the rain. The condition of facility at coridor 3 is still deficient, henceit needs to observe the suitability of facility according to Standard Directorate General of Land Transportation 2012 and Wahana Tata Nugraha 2010. The result of judgement for busstop condition at corridor 3 showed it was included into deficient category since the weight of all judgement were 40%. Percentage result of bus stop facility according to weight of judgement was in efficient category of 3,77% for 2 bus stops, sufficient category of 35.19%for 19 bus stops, deficient cateogry of 46.30% for 25 bus stops and less deficient category of 13.21% for 7 bus stops. TMP bus stop at coridor 3 is type 1 witb average weight of judgement was 26.71% and was included into deficient category, type 2 with 11% weight of judgement and was less deficient, and type 3 with 30% weight of judgement and wasdeficient.Keywords: Bus stop, Condition, TMP (Trans Metro Pekanbaru), Corridor, WTN (Wahana Tata Nugraha)

Abstract

Lubricants are used in machines to reduce friction between two metal objects so that they can overcome wear on engine components. Rubber seed oil is a type of non-food oil (oil that cannot be consumed) because there is a cyanide compound (HCN) so that it can be used as raw material for making biolubricant. This research aims to synthesize biolubricant based rubber seed oil and study the effect of the percentage of addition of NaOCH3 catalysts and reaction time to yield of biolubricant produced. This research was carried out in several stages: preparation of raw materials including extraction of rubber seed oil by pressing method, then continued by degumming process to purify the oil from the gum. Next, the esterification process to reduce of free fatty acid at the oil. The final stage is the transesterification process of making biolubricant with a mole ratio of oil and 1-octanol of 1:5, reaction temperature of 170 oC, stirring speed of 200 rpm, time variation for 4 hours; 6 hours; 8 hours, and variations in the number of catalysts are 2%; 3%; 4% v/v oil. The highest yield of biolubricant produced was 82.635%. The best characteristics of biolubricant were produced at 4 hours reaction time and 4% catalyst with density values of 0.8344 gr/ml, viscosity index 217.568, pour point -9 oC, flash point 295 oC, and FTIR test to ensure the formation of ester functional groups in biolubricant.Keywords: Biolubricant, rubber seed oil, octanol, transesterification

Abstract

Rapid technological developments in the telecommunications sector provide benefits that can facilitate communication from one place to another. Technological developments are also required to improve security. Along with that the security of the information exchanged is also very necessary to avoid things that are not desirable. One method of securing information and messages is to use data encryption and description, which is studied in the field of cryptography. To overcome the security problems mentioned above, this research makes an Android Application for Text Safeguards Using Layered Cryptography with Caesar, Blowfish and AES Algorithms (Advanced Standard Encryption). Abstract

Some implications and research about tokamak as nuclear fusion reactor are examined. From the other researching about tokamak shown that this nuclear fusion reactor has been developed significantly in last 3 decade. In this research to determine new concept to recreate the tokamak with more safety tendencies. The step from this idea to make tokamak is calculate the nuclear fusion cylce energy (based on electron-volt), magnetic field needed (e.m.u), the equilibrium value of nuclear reaction (in electron-volt), temperature and heat conversion of the result from fusion reaction. Also, as the measurement of the tokamak, this study using sizeable value to determine radius of orbit, the coil, etc. From the conclusion this tokamak concept has estimate to produced high energy and high temperature. The tokamak projected to have >200MeV equilibrium energy value and converted to heat energy around 500°C - 600°C. Which use as the fuel flowed to the boiler as a device to produce steam. Abstract

Siak Hulu Subdistrict and Tambang Subdistrict are sub-districts in Kampar District which are supporting areas of Pekanbaru City because many people work and attend schools in Pekanbaru City but live in Siak Hulu Sub-District and Tambang District. The high number of residents with a variety of activities will certainly influence the amount of CO2 emissions produced. Primary data was obtained from the survey involving 298 respondents and secondary data, regional maps amddemographic data. The variables in this research are the amount of LPG fuel, kerosene, and fuel wood and BBM (fuel oil) for generator engines, namely gasoline and diesel. Calculation of CO2 emissions was carried out using the IPCC method (2006). Total primary CO2 emission from household activities in Siak Hulu Subdistrict and Tambang District are 1346,802 tons CO2/month.Keywords: Carbon Footprint, Household CO2 Emissions, Fossil Fuels

Abstract

Furfural is one of the furan derivatives that is widely used as a solvent in the extraction of lubricating oils and natural oils. Furfural can be made from materials containing pentose such as palm oil empty fruit bunches. The purpose of this study is to examine the utilization of palm oil empty fruit bunches as a raw material in the manufacture of furfural. There are three stages carried out in this study, pretreatment, hydrolysis, and distillation. The pretreatment process used 9% H2SO4, 9% NaOH, and 50% ethanol as solvent, which was cooked at temperature 120oC for 1 hour, 1.5 hours and 2 hours. The results showed that acid pretreatment process with 9% H2SO4 was the best process in producing furfural. Hemicellulose from palm oil empty fruit bunches can produce pentose and furfural which can be used as industrial raw materials. The highest yield of furfural obtained from pretreatment using 9% H2SO4 with reaction time 2 hours at 8.64% and the lowest yield of furfural yield obtained from pretreatment using 9% NaOH with 1 hour reaction time at 1.06%.Keywords : furfural, palm oil empty fruit bunches, pretreatment

Abstract

Conventional plastic waste is one of the most worrying issues for the environment because it can not be degraded by microorganisms. Bioplastic or biodegradable plastic is one of alternative solution to change conventional plastic, because bioplastics are easy to degrade. One of the potential materials to become the raw materials is corn starch and pineapple leaf fiber cellulose because it has high starch and hight cellulose. The general purpose of this research are to determine the impact and the best composition of the addition cellulose and glycerol in mechanical properties of bioplastic. The synthesis method is casting of corn starch, cellulose, and glycerol with composition of plasticizer is (0,5-1,5 gr) and composition of filler is (10–25 % b/b starch). The analysis of bioplastic was tensile strenght, elongation, modulus young, water uptake, biodegradation, and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The most significant factor of all responses was composition of filler cellulose and composition of plasticizer gliserol. The best process condition was bioplastic with composition of filler 25% b/b starch and plasticizer 0,5 gram with the value of tensile strength 17,11 MPa, elongation 4,345%, modulus young 393,786 MPa, water uptake 20,37% and biodegradation 27,78%. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis shows that filler distribution was not equal on corn starch matrices and still has a clod.Keywords : bioplastic, biodegradable, cellulose, filler, plasticizer
