Abstract

Oil palm empty fruit bunches ash is the material which has K+ about 25.68%. K+ has a high value of potential is -2.94 volt (V). That is making K+ be the ion which high possibility for reduction others ion. This research having goals to known DC electricity value (such as voltaic value, current, power , and capacity) within using oil palm empty fruit bunches ash as the electrolyte solution. Part of scrap electronic device that is printed computer board/PCB and Galvanic zinc metal used as electrodes (Kation and Anion). Oil palm empty fruit bunches ash solute made by (b/b) mass ratio, ash: water is 1: 4. And then, the rate of kalium analyzed by flame photometry. As a result, kalium has 60.375 g/L in oil palm empty fruit bunches solutions. After that making an application of electrochemical cell with variates 8, 10 and 12 electrodes cell to calculate voltaic and current values. Beside that other variety is compare ash solution with NaCl solution about DC electricity value with equal of electrode cells (12 cells) and ratio. Results are electrochemical cell having voltaic value, current, power with 12 cells of electrodes is 4.76 V, 0.65 miliampere (mA) and 3.094 miliwatt (mW). The conclusion that oil palm empty fruit bunches ash solution having more high electricity value than NaCl solutions.Keywords: ash, current, NaCl, PCB, volt

Abstract

Productivity affects the project progresses between actual field and the planned schedule of the construction project. Therefore, the level of productivity at crisis activity in a schedule planning project which in this case is structure project needs to be analyzed. This study aims to analyze actual productivity on the field and determine the factors affecting productivity towards the construction project of Regional Police Department of Riau. The value of actual work productivity is obtained through direct observation on the field using the method of Time Study. The data is analyzed and converted into field index, then compared with SNI 7394 : 2008 index as standard reference. Base on result of calculation, the work productivity value of plate, column, and beam formwork respectively are 19.99 m2/hour, 10.91 m2/hour, and 4.89 m2/hour with their index values respectively are 0.10 MH, 0.26 MH, and 0.37 MH. Next, the work productivity value of plate, column, and beam reinforcement respectively are 516.77 kg/hour, 187.61 kg/hour, and 187.91 kg/hour with their index values respectively are 0.01 MH, 0.03 MH, and 0.02 MH. For plate, column, and beam casting, their work productivity value respectively are 13.21 m3/hour, 12.98 m3/hour, and 13.53 m3/hour with their index value respectively are 0.28 MH, 0.24 MH, and 0.26 MH. Abstract

The dual fuel line 2 100MW steam power plant (PLTU) is one of the power plants owned by PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper. To produce steam PLTU line 2, PT RAPP used biomass as the main fuel and natural gas as an alternative fuel to achieve the required steam production target. The combination of exergy analysis (second law of thermodinamics) with economic analysis is exergoeconomic. With this exergoeconomic analysis the value of losses in each component of the steam power plant is more noticeable because it is already in the value of the currency. By carrying out this research the value of the cost of loss can be identified specifically, from the highest loss to the lowest loss. At the dual fuel line 2 PT RAPP 100MW steam power plant the biggest cost of the loss was at the boiler at US$ 533.048,48/hour, followed by the HP pre-heater 2 for US$ 262.869,97/hour, the HP pre-heater 1 for US$ 83.153,52/hour, condenser US$44.063,03/hour, pump 2 US$42.846,85/hour, feedwater tank US$34.849,08/hour, steam turbine US$234.05/hour and the smallest was pump 1 US$71,48/hour. With a total value of a loss of US$ 1.011.509,52/hour. Through this research, it was expected that the value of the cost of losses due to exergy destruction can be reduced. Abstract

Fashion-Hub in Batam is a center for fashion activities that centrally functioned as a space for interaction in educational, information, commercial and recreational activities for the society and can bridge the activities regarding the fashion world in local and international circles. By using an expressionism architecture approach, building can express an emotion expressed by the architect and can be felt by people who see it, able to display the image of fashion art itself, resulting in buildings that look like a work of art. Abstract

One alternative energy source that can be used is energy derived from sunlight. One important aspect that aims to improve the efficiency of solar cells is the Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) on solar cells. The MPPT system aims to find a solar cell working point where solar cells are able to produce maximum power and detect solar cells work at that optimal point. The MPPT algorithm is the main part of the MPPT system, one of the MPPT algorithm is the Incremental Conductance Method (ICM). The ICM algorithm in this study is the MPPT method used by solar cells that detect the optimum conditions in various conditions the input values change in of solar cells. The ICM algorithm on a 100 Watt solar cell system is used for battery charging, the battery used is a lead-acid type with a nominal voltage of 12 Volts, a capacity of 6.5 Ah produces a maximum output power of 87.37 Watts. The increase in battery State of Charge (SOC) of 10% and 90%. Setting a battery SOC of 10% with 0.1% increase in battery SOC occurs at 2.7 seconds in simulation time or 27 minutes of real test time and battery SOC with a setting of 90% SOC increase in 0, 1% battery SOC occurred at 1.8 seconds at simulation time or 18 minutes real test time. Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest paper producing and exporting countries in the world. Along with the increasing production of paper, the amount of used paper in the world is increase, and in Indonesia also. Waste paper is a very large source of fiber, if this can be used properly, waste paper can produce bioethanol which is able to overcome the scarcity of fossil fuels. Every kilogram of waste paper can produce 0.28 liter of bioethanol with proper operation condition. The purpose of this study is to see the effect of the pretreatment process, find the best acid hydrolysis parameters, and also to find the optimum fermentation time of used HVS fiber with separate hydrolysis and fermentation (SHF) method. The sequence of this study is; pretreatment with NaOH solution for deinking process, then hydrolysis process with variation of acid concentration 2%, 4%, 6% dan 8% for two hours in variation temperature 120, 130 and 140 oC, and the last is fermentation. In the fermentation process, 1 gram Saccharomyces cerevisiae is added in to the sample and let the fermentation process is occur with time variation 24, 48, 72 and 96 hour. The maximum sugar concentration can produce from the hydrolysis process is 85,53 gr/l with acid concentration 8% and hydrolysis temperature 120 oC. The best time for fermentation is 72 hours with bioethanol produced 4%.Keywords: Bioethanol, fermentation, hydrolysis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, waste paper.

Abstract

Heart attack is one of the causes of high mortality, so a lot of research make a tool to monitor human heart activities. In this study, researchers use a Raspberry pi that is connected to the AD 8232 module. The AD 8232 module to detect heart signal, commonly called ECG signals. The AD 8232 module is connected with an ADC module to convert analog signals into digital signals that are connected to raspberry pi, then the ECG signal conduct a compression process. The compression process aims to minimize the byte of storage in the raspberry pi where as ECG signal measurements are carried out in real-time. To get the right and optimal compression method without destruct the ECG signal data, researchers compare two data compression methods. The two data compression will be used are the Huffman Code and Lempel Ziv Welch. The results of the comparison ratio of data before and after the compression process for are 43.96% huffman and 88.61% for lempel Ziv Welch.Key words: Raspberry Pi, EKG module, AD 8232 module, compression, Algoritma Huffman

Abstract

Tenun Songket and Batik Tabir are Riau typical handicrafts. The demand for these fabrics has increased because of the large public interest in using these fabrics in various events. However, the market demand cannot be fulfilled because the numbers of production and craftsmen from Tenun Songket and Batik Tabir are still low. As a result of these factors, a production center is needed that can overshadow the production process of Songket and Batik Tabir. This production center aims to accommodate the creativity of Songket and Batik Tabirs’ craftsmen from regencies in Riau that produce high-quality Tenun Songket and Batik Tabir.The production centers also facilitate promotional activities and education for the community. Not only accommodates production activities, so that traditional handicrafts from Tenun Songket and Batik Tabir can develop well and become an identity for the people and culture of Riau. The Production Center is designed through the Neo Vernacular Architecture approach that mimics some or several elements of the physical form of the building or non-physical elements of the building in the form of layout, mindset and culture. Abstract

The aim of this research is to study the impact of graphene and glycerol addition on the mechanical properties, functional group, biodegrability, water uptake and morphology of the sweet potato and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) based bioplastic. Bioplastics were synthesized using solution casting method with graphene addition of 0, 1, 2, 3%wt and glycerol addition of 20, 30, 40%wt into the sweet potato starch-PVA polyblend. Bioplastics were then tested their mechanical properties, morphology (SEM), functional group (FTIR), biodegrability, and water uptake analysis. The results showed that the addition of graphene increased the tensile strength, and the Young modulus, but decreased the elongation. Meanwhile, the addition of glycerol increased elongation, but decreased the tensile strength, and the Young modulus of bioplastics. The bioplastic produced using 3% of graphene and 20% of glycerol had the best mechanical properties with tensile strength of 16.76 MPa, elongation of 95.505%, and Young modulus of 17.549 MPa. Water uptake and biodegrability decreased as the increase of graphene content and increased as the increase of glycerol content. The sweet potato – PVA based bioplastic with the addition of graphene has a good perspective to develop further.Keywords : bioplastic, glycerol, graphene, mechanical properties, PVA, sweet potato starch

Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) was created in order to improve the 3rd Generation standard of mobile phone, has much better data access speed. Planning for the optimization of the LTE network in Rokan Hulu District which is a rural area proposed because the implementation of LTE in the area has not been distributed well. The design of the LTE was specified at a frequency of 900 MHz using FDD duplexing with 5 MHz and 10 MHz bandwidths. The purpose of this study is to optimize the design of LTE networks with good condition of LTE standards in Rokan Hulu Regency. FDD is a method that is more resistant toward interference, uplink and downlink processes can be occured at the same time. It is also suitable in rural areas. In this paper, the design of the LTE network compares the work results of 5 MHz and 10 MHz bandwidths in Rokan Hulu Regency. The parameter test results display FDD techniques of 10 MHz and 5 MHz bandwidth. Coverage by signal level in FDD with 10 MHz bandwidth is superior. It is percentage 93.35% in signal level ≥-95 dBm, while in FDD technique 5 MHz bandwidth has 89.17% coverage by signal level at signal level ≥-95 dBm. So, based on these parameters, it can be concluded that the FDD technique of 10 MHz bandwidth is feasible to be applied to Rokan Hulu Regency.Keywords: LTE, FDD, bandwidth, coverage, signal level.
