Abstract

Ultrafiltration membrane is a membrane that resist colloids, particles, microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses or macromolecules that are 1 -100 nm in size. Membrane synthesis was using cellulose acetate material with phase inversion method. The purpose of this research were to make membranes of cellulose acetate for waste water treatment mall with 12.5%, 15%, 17.5%, and 20% by weight of cellulose acetate, operating pressure of 2, 3, and 4 bars. This research produced porous membrane and it had asymmetric structure.Key words : asymmetric, mall, porous membrane, rejecton , and ultrafiltration

Abstract

The 316L stainless steel is widely used as implant, but it still has some downsides such as low biocompatibility and it will release metal ion in the body. Therefore coating the surface of the metal with hydroxyapatite is done to resolve these problems. Coating thickness is an important parameter in the coating process. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of HA amount to the coating thickness. The procedurs in this research are making of HA slurry, substrate preparation, coating process, drying and sintering. The fixed variables in this research are 3 gram of polyethylene glycol, 54 ml of aquades, stirring rate of 300 rpm for 20 hours, immersion time is 10 seconds, drying at 110 °C for 30 minutes, sintering at 700 °C for 1 hour, one time dipping, substrate starilization for 15 minutes, and substrate drying at 110 °C for 10 minutes. The changeable variable is the amount of HA as much as 18 and 24 gram. This study concluded that the more amount of HA used, the thicker coating thickness achieved. The HA coating thickness achieved in this research are in the range of 126-223 μm.Keywords: coating thickness, dip coating, hydroxyapatite, 316L stainless steel.

Abstract

Pumping test was conducted to determine the characteristics of an aquifer transmissivity and storativity values. Pumping test can measure the amount of water from an aquifer so that the potential of groundwater can be determined from any research areas. Pumping test carried out in two stages, first is the productionwell pumping test to observe the drawdown caused by the pumping process and second is recovery test were performed to observe the recharge process of pumped production wells. This research located in Rantau Baru village’s groundwaterwells. Analytical method used is Cooper Jacob method (straight-line method) so that the obtained transmissivity (T) value is 1822,639 m2/day and storativity (S) value is 9,978×10-5. Based on these acquired two parameters, the availability potential of groundwater at this research location is 467,8 m3/day. By identificationof groundwater discharge, the utilization of groundwater at the research locationcan be controlled in order to avoid any ground water depletion.Keyword : Pumping test, drawdown, aquifer, Cooper Jacob

Abstract

Clean water obtained by the community District Mempura is still minimal. This is of course caused by many factors such as reservoir and flow in pipes. Water Supply System (WSS) District Mempura using EPANET 2.0 software with 3 (three) alternative transmission pipes each diameter 6 inch, 8 inch and 10 inch. Projection of population of District Mempura using Geometric method until 2035 is 27.262 soul and requirement of clean water equal to 37 liter / second. From 3 (alternative), 10 inch pipe transmission line is used with flow rate 0,79 m / s, head at node A1 equal to 16,13 meter, pressure value 4,25 meter and headloss 2,31 / 1000 meter.Keywords: Head loss, transmission pipes, SPAM, clean water

Abstract

Life skills education involves care for the environment can shape the personality and character of skilled care for environment around them. The exixtence of integrated schools thathave continuity from primary level to secondary school, aims to teach character education about care environment through facilities that comply with the national standards of education. A designmethod through applying the principle of eco architecture: (1) Sensitive to the climate; (2) Energyefficient; (3) Eco-friendly, will be applied in buildings such as the use of shading, cross-ventilation,rainwater harvesting, solar panels, and the use of environmentally friendly materials. The concept is applied to the integrated school buildings this is the 'Educational Terrace'. This concept isapplied to the terrace and the veranda building. The terrace and the veranda is utilized as a place of gardening, so with a garden on the terrace can be used to support teaching and learningactivities involves care of the environment.Keywords: Integrated School, Eco Architecture, Educational Terrace.

Abstract

Pekanbaru was chosen as the best investment destination, it is evident from the current real condition with the rapid growth of economy and investment. As a metropolitan city based onbusiness activities, the potential investment in residential business such as Condotel is very promising. Condotel can function as condominium and hotel, from condotel ownership aspect canbe owned by individual, the owner can occupy the unit with the specified time, when the owner does not occupy the unit, the unit can be rented like hotel and managed by the hotel management. In the design of Condotel, the design approach that is applied prioritizes the principles of designing Modern Architecture with the goal of the purpose that the building is designed to follow the trend in accordance with the times. This can be seen from the form of its simple building mass, clean, functional, stylish, up-to-date, related to the modern lifestyle that is growing rapidly today. Abstract

Laccase is one of the ligninolityc enzymes that capable to degrade lignin. This ability can be used for the pretreatment of lignocellulosic materials in the bioethanol production and lignin degradation in pulp. There are diverse sources of laccase producing like fungi, plants and bacteria. This research is, conducted to the production of laccase enzyme using Trichoderma asperellum LBKURCC1 with bioreactor tray using solid state fermentation (SSF) method with rice straw substrate. The research was purposed to determine the effect of CuSO4 inducer and know the best fermentation time on production of enzyme by Trichoderma asperellum LBKURCC1. Fermentation was carried out with time variations that are 5-10 days and variations of CuSO4 that are 0,25-0,75 g/L with substrate size ±0,5 cm, the bed depth on the tray 3 cm. Fermentation using room temperature and pH is 5,5. The result showed that the highest laccase enzyme activity was obtained on CuSO4 inducer 0,50 g/L and 7 days fermentation with average laccase enzyme activity was 19,270 U/L.Keywords: Inducer, Laccase, Rice straw, Solid state fermentation, Trichoderma asperellum.

Abstract

The study related to the determination bearing capacity of helical pile in peat soil has been conducted previously. This study is costly and requires an extra effort, thus it is necessary to find another approach to determine bearing capacity of helical pile. In this study helical pile was modelled using finite element method of Optum G2 application program which aimed to estimate bearing capacity. The program is easily accessible, relatively simple to use and provide a wide variety of examples related geotechnical engineering problem. Peat soil was modelled based on Mohr coulomb criteria and the helical pile is classified as LL helical pile which modelled in this study. Determination of bearing capacity of helical pile was done by comparing the settlement between the results of the field finding and the computation using Optum G2. The settlement in this study consist of the two types of settlements, loading and unloading. The results from modelling indicated that settlement in loading test are similar to those on the field tests. However, for unloading test there is a difference between field test and modelling. This suggest that the model of Mohr coulomb criteria is inapplicable for the peat soil. Keywords : Helical Pile, Peat Soil, Finite element method, Soil nailing, Optum G2

Abstract

Styrofoam or polystyrene (PS) can make block water channel, greenhouse effect and make a big contribution in global warming, interfering with a various equilibrium environmental and health components. One of styrofoam waste treatment is a biodegradation by utilizing mealworm (Tenebrio molitor larva). This research aims to calculate the value of degradation (%biodegradation) efficiency with additional nutrients and %Survival Rate of larva. In this study variations we make comparation in dark and light conditions, The result highest of %biodegradation Styrofoam is a Styrofoam dark condition with 57% value and lowest value is a Styrofoam in light condition with 51%. While for the highest %SR dark condition is 65% and light condition with 75%.Key Word : Styrofoam, Survival Rate, Biodegradation, Tenebrio molitor Larva.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analize the effect of indirect lightning strikes on the 13.8 kV distribution network at BOB PT. BSP - Pertamina Hulu Bandar Pedada by using ATP-EMTP. Maximum induced voltage of indirect lightning is computed by using Rusck theory, then indirect lightning strikes are simulated by using ATP-EMTP. In this paper, five conditions are simulated. The first condition is the distribution line without the indirect lightning strikes with 15 kV lightning arresters and the ground wire is installed, the second condition is the indirect lightning strikes without the 15 kV lightning arresters and ground wire, the third condition is indirect lightning strikes with the ground wire is installed and without the 15 kV lightning arrester, the fourth condition is the indirect lightning strikes with 15 kV lightning arresters are installed and without the ground wire, and the fifth condition is the indirect lightning strikes with the 15 kV lightning arresters and ground wire is installed. The simulation results show that the ground wire is able to reduce the effect of the induced voltage from the indirect lightning strikes, the 15 kV lightning arresters are able to reduce the effect of the induced voltage from the indirect lightning strikes, and the best results are obtained when the ground wire and the 15 kV lightning arresters are installed on the distribution line.Keyword : Indirect lightning strikes, Rusck theory, lightning arresters, ground wire, medium voltage distribution line.
