Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is a new concept compared to cloud computing. Android applications or websites are used to monitor and control a network of electronic circuits and sensors throughsoftware designed for special purposes without human intervention to control it. With the development of current technology, environmental monitoring has also used the internet of things,including monitoring peatlands. When entering the dry season, peatlands will be vulnerable to land fires. In this study peatland monitoring with the concept of internet of things will facilitatelandowners, landowners or government companies to monitor peatlands. This research will monitor the temperature and humidity above and below the peatlands by using the DHT11 Temperature &Humidity sensor as input, Arduino as a microcontroller, Espressive Smart Connectivity Platform (ESP) as a WI-FI module to connect Arduino to the internet, internet platform of things usingANTARES to display the results of temperature monitoring and peatland humidity.Keywords: android, humidity, Internet of Things (IoT), monitoring, temperature

Abstract

Chitinase is an enzyme that can transform chitin into N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), which is very useful in the pharmaceutical, especially as an agent of anti-tumor and anti-cancer. This research is an enlarged scale of 25 mL enzyme production that already done with enzyme activity 0.0137 U / mL, an enlarged scale is already done in a bioreactor with volume of medium is 1.5 L with aeration, aeration is doing by pumping an air by sparger and assisted by stirrer with a stirring speed motors 40-60 rpm and aeration rate of 0.5 vvm; 1 vvm; 1.5 vvm and without aeration process. The best enzyme activity is produced at a rate of 1 vvm aeration and fermentation time is 8 days with time of inoculation starter is 5 days with the activity of an enzyme produced has analyze through UV-VIS spectrophotometer with a sugar content analysis method, Nelson-Somogyi.Keywords: aeration, chitinase, enzyme, inokulation, nelson-somogyi, sparger, starter

Abstract

Heterogeneous solid base catalyst synthesized with iron powder to load sodium oxide through impregnation and calcination method. The optimum conditions for the manufacture of catalysts investigated. Effect of weight ratio of Na2O to iron powder and calcination temperature on the catalytic performance were studied. The catalyst with the highest activity is obtained when the weight ratio of Na2O to iron powder is 70:30 and calcination temperature of 550 °C under transesterification reaction conditions of a molar ratio of methanol : oil 8:1, catalyst dosage of 2% by weight, temperature of 60 °C for 3 hours with biodiesel results reached 86.40%.Keywords : biodiesel, calcination, catalysts, impregnation, iron powder, sodium oxide, transesterification.

Abstract

Modern dance competition in Batam increases the interest of the community and tourists about the dance, but in Batam there is not a forum that can provide facilities for training, recreation, performances, and sports. Community need a place that can provide these facilities. The Modern Dance Center in Batam is a facilities for dance activities such as, education, performance, information, and other dance applications. This method uses the Expressionist Architecture approach so the building can express the emotions conveyed and can be felt by the viewer, so the expression is not only seen from the performances displayedbut also from the modern dance center building. In addition it is not only a building that provides facilities but also as a work of art. Through the concept of battle dance, buildings can show the strengths of styles and the differences between modern dance styles. So theexpression of freedom can be seen in buildings. There are 3 functions in this modern dance center building, namely: main function, supporting function, complementary function. The main functions are education and recreation there are training studios and auditoriums,supporting functions as commercials there are foodcourt and retail, and complementary functions there are managers and services.Keyword :Batam, Modern Dance Center, Expressionist Architecture

Abstract

WiMax (World wide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a standard Broadband Wireless Access with the ability to provide high speed data services to a wider area which is powered by a standard IEEE 802.16d (802.16-2004). Wimax technology supports multiple services one of which is video streaming. The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of network devices wimax in the Lab Electrical Engineering Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau to access the streaming video service. This study did some test scenarios include using two clients (point-tomultipoint) and one client (point-to-point), add a distance of 5 meters, 10 meters to 15 meters, 20 meters and additional traffic load (video resolution) 360p , 480p, 720p and 1080p. The method used is the method of packet sniffing for 300 seconds using software wireshark to see Quality of servive (QoS). QoS parameters analyzed such as throughput, delay, packet loss and jitter. Analysis of best measurement was obtained at a distance of 5 meters with 360p video resolution by throughput 7638.54975 Byte / s, delay 0.15136306 s, packet loss  0% and jitter 0.30060517 s by using two client. And at a distance of 20 meters with 1080p video resolution by throughput 8053.490398 Byte / s, delay 0.082082906 s, packet loss 0%  and jitter 0.156352979 s  by using one client. . Keyword: Wimax, Video streaming, QoS, Packet sniffing

Abstract

The clean water obtained by the people of Kecamatan Lubuk Dalam is still very minimal. This is because the groundwater source located in Lubuk Dalam does not qualify as clean water. So far, the people of Kecamatan Lubuk Dalam utilize watersource from rain water and drilled well. Rainwater that is accommodated by the community is not able to meet the needs of the community during the dry season, while the groundwater source obtained from the well has a poor quality so it is not good for public health. Due to the growing progress of Kecamatan Lubuk Dalam, the Siak regency government is seeking to build a clean water treatment plant deep in order to meet the water needs of the local community. The new will be built in the area of LubukDalam, a source of water obtained from the Sungai Basas, the Siak River in the Koto Gasip area.Keywords:, clean water, distribution, , PDAM , EPANET

Abstract

Stroke Hospital is special facilities for stroke that do not exist in Pekanbaru yet, the design of this hospital can accommodate the patient activity based on the pattern of stroke behavior. This is generally divided into two, such as slow and impulsive behavior. The problems are solved by applying the principles of behavior architecture as an approach in design, they are environmental perceptions and personal space. Methods use are incude field data collection, literature study, empiris study, and stroke behavior analysis by using behavior mapping methods, the methods are place center mapping and person center mapping. The result of this study is able to design the stroke hospital that focus on the behavioral problems of stroke patients which is set by using concept of Healing Environment, this concept designs a hospital environment that can help improve the cure and adaptability of patients by applying the healing element and requesting the stroke patient space in accordance with their personal space. Abstract

The Great Mosque Islamic Center Rokan Hulu is the best national mosque in Indonesia and also as an icon of Rokan Hulu Regency which has the nickname of the Country of Thousand Suluk. This mosque is also a religious tourist place. Therefore, this mosque has many religious activity agendas that are in the spotlight of the wider community. The lack of information dissemination on religious activities is a major problem that must be overcome. Communities often get non-updated information and outdated information. Mobile Application of Religious Activities for the Great Mosque Islamic Center Rokan Hulu with Push Notification is the solution to these problems. This application uses the push notification method so that users easily get information on religious activities through automatic notifications on the user's smartphone and also as a reminder of the schedule of religious activities. Users can also set up information on religious activity information they want to get through the notification configuration menu. Abstract

The increase in vehicle ownership causes transportation activities to increaase. The tendency to increase the number of motorized vehicles operating, will add to the burden of traffic one example is the increase in noise intensity. This study aims to map the pattern of noise distribution and to determine the level of noise that occurs in Jenderal Sudirman street Pekanbaru city by taking data in the form of noise data and several other traffic variables such as vehicle volume and speed. This research was conducted using a Sound Level Meter (SLM) and with a noise mapping method for 2 days, namely on Monday which represents peak hours and Saturdays which represent vehicle quiet hours. The results showed that from 180 measurement points the highest noise level was 97.9 dB which was a point with high traffic volume and the lowest noise level was 68.4 dB which had low traffic volume. Comparison of noise level with KepmenLH No.48 / MENLH / 11/1996 quality standard results obtained 4 points in the Sukaramai Market. Noise mapping using the ArcGis 10.3 software program.From this study it can also be concluded that the greater the volume of the vehicle, the vehicle speed will be lower so as to produce a high noise level, and vice versa so that the volume of the vehicle is directly proportional to the noise level, while the vehicle speed is inversely proportional to the noise levelKeywords: Noise, Traffic, Jenderal Sudirman Street

Abstract

Information of characteristic watershed is very important to analysis tranformation rainfall be runoff. Study area in the river akuaman, that there is watershed of tapakis. One of the methods to analyzes the characteristic of a stream zone is by utilizing Digital Elevation Model (DEM). DEM`s data is processed by using the Geographical Information System Technology (GIS). The provided data and Geographical Information System is used to extract the characteristic of watersheds quickly, automatically, and integrated with other watershed`s data. By the availability of DEM`s data which is processed by using GIS application, is capable to produces the watershed characteristic`s data, which will be used to calculate the discharge of flood with Hidrograph Unit Syntetic method (HSS). The Hidrograph Unit Syntetic method which were used on this research are Gama I, Nakayasu, ITB-1, ITB-2, SCS, and Synder. The concept of syntetic unit of hydrograf with a value of control volume / run off must be approaching a value 1 mm of high direct run off (HDRo), so that known a method of syntetic unit of hydrograf can be applied to watershed. In a case study can be seen a all method of syntetic unit of hydrograf applicable to the watershed of Tapakis with the result is Gama I 0.77 mm , Nakayasu 1,01 mm , ITB I 1.00 mm , ITB II 1.00 mm , SCS 1.00 mm ,and Snyder 1,83 mm and the value of HDRo approaching 1 mm and the value of control volume below 5 %Key Word: Gama I, Nakayasu, SIG
