Abstract

There were several issues that could interfere with large-scale PV performance. The shading effect on the PV array caused reduced absorption of solar radiation in the modules in the PV array. The reduced absorption of solar radiation results in a decreased in the voltage on the PV string and disrupted the performance of the PV array system. This study designed a miniature PV farm with a small capacity consisting of 9 PV modules of 10 watt-peaks arranged to form 3 strings and each string consisting of 3 PV modules. This research used a bypass diode circuit and a blocking diode. In this study, the PV output voltage would be classified based on the voltage reading at each PV sting. The voltage at the time of the 3rd string was not exposed to small shading of 53 volts, greater than 36 volts, when 1 string was shade, the resulting voltage was smaller than 35 volts and a larger of 18 volts, while when 2 strings were shade, the resulting voltage is less than 17 volts. The output voltage of the PV is in the form of a DC power source, therefore an inverter was need that could convert it into an AC power source. Due to the small output voltage of the PV to be able to supply the feed load, a step up transformer was need. In this research, the transformer was design to be able to accept various input from PV. So a transformer with a variable input was design with a control on the primary winding to adjust the winding that would be active according to the sensor reading at the transformer input. And in the secondary winding of the transformer, a sensor was also installed to take a reading of the transformer output voltage to keep the voltage ± 220 volts.Keywords: Shading, Voltage, Photovoltaic, PV Farm, Inverter, Transformer

Abstract

Press machine is a machine design to produce a high pressure, which is applied to facilitate human work such as destroying an object, push or lift it. The power source can come from the hydraulic machines, human power, electric motors and others. The purpose of this study was to obtain the results of design of the framework of press machine in form of technical drawings and analysis of strength of the structure. This research is limited by loading of 50 tons. The research was began with data collection, design, then technical drawing and final design. The material in this research used St 50. Based calculations result was performed the stress that occurs in the cylinder holder of 3.4 N / mm2, on the table is 2.6 N / mm2. The deflection was occurred in the cylinder stand of 0.017 mm, on the table is 0.54 mm. Keywords: Press machine, Frame design, Hydraulic system, Technical drawings

Abstract

At this time, Indonesia is ranked first with the highest number of stroke cases in Asia. This makes the problem of stroke in Indonesia needs special attention. Therefore, this study tried to apply the Forward Chaining method to the early detection system for stroke to see the percentage and type of stroke suffered by the user. The variables used include the types of stroke, symptom data of the types of stroke, and the certainty factor value determined by the expert. The output is the percentage and type of stroke suffered by the user. Abstract

Education is something that helps for the progress of the nation. Assessment is a process carried out to make decisions using information from learning outcomes. One of the problems at SMPN 01 Sungai Mandau, the assessment was carried out using paper so that there were many mistakes. This problem can be overcome by creating an information system that can help the teacher assessment process to make it faster and safer. Making this information system requires several important components, namely in the form of Java and XML programming languages for the Android system, while PHP, HTML, and CSS for web systems. The method that I use to create this information system is the waterfall method using the MySQL database. The author's testing is done by using usability testing and black-box testing methods. The results of the information system can make it easier for teachers to fill in student scores, students or parents to see the results of grades, sponsors to manage scholarships and IT employees in managing grades. Abstract

The condition of electricity in Pekanbaru is really apprehensive, there are still many people who have not been supplied with electricity around the area. Wind energy as a renewable energy source has great potential to overcome the problem of electricity dependence. The relatively low wind speed conditions can be used efficiently by designing blades that are suitable for the wind speed in Pekanbaru area. The blades are designed using aerodynamic equations with software such as Q-Blade and Microsoft excel to determine blade geometry, as well as Autodesk Inventor 2013 to perform blade modeling. As a result, the blade that is designed has a tough structure and can produce mechanical power at low wind speeds with a blade radius of 1.3 m and a root chord length of 0.17 m and a chord length at the end of 0.34 m with a torsion angle at the base is 23.9 ° and the torsion angle is 7.3 ° at the ends of the blade. Abstract

Journal bearing operates, the relative motion between journal and bearing as well as lubricant form a lubricant film to prevent the direct contact between both surfaces of the journal and the bearing. The entire surface is separated by the lubricant film so that there is no direct contact between the two surfaces. This research was conducted to calculate the pressure and film thickness distribution using the Finite Difference Method (FDM) in solving partial differential equations of the Reynolds equation. The central difference scheme was used in this simulation because this scheme is more accurate than the other difference schemes. Some factors influencing the generated pressure and film thickness distribution were studied in this research, i.e. eccentricity ratio and radius of bearing. At the eccentricity ratio of 0.632 the dimensionless maximum pressure are 8.0952 which occurred at and the dimensionless minimum film thickness are 0.368 at respectively. This research also found that the greater the value of the eccentricity ratio, the greater the pressure generated between the contacting surfaces. Besides, the eccentricity ratio causing the change of the location of maximum pressure because, at axis rotation the central point of the journal and bearing center point shift with increase eccentricity ratio. Increasing of the radius bearing causes the decrease of the ratio of length and diameter of bearing (L/D ratio) and decreases the maximum pressure.Keywords: Journal bearing, Eccentricity ratio, Radius Bearing, Hydrodynamic Pressure, Film Thickness

Abstract

Transformers used in generator are generally 3 phase transformers. In the transformer there is a role that is to move and change the amount of electrical energy from one or more electrical circuits to another circuit. In the use of transformers, there many advantages, but there are also disadvantages such as harmonic distortion which can cause power losses and decreased working capacity. Therefore, this thesis aims to analyze the effect of transformer winding type and transformer loading conditions on the harmonic distortion. In this study used supporting tools namely resistive and induktive loads and to see the THD level using the KYORITSU 6310 Power Quality Analyzer. And the variation of the entanglement relationship used is the wye and delta relationship. The test result concluded that the relationship between wye-wye and resistive load had the highest THD percentage of 44,35% dan delta-delta relationship had the lowest THD percentage of 3.06%. Abstract

Information technology is now much developed. With the ease of obtaining this information, it causes other obstacles, namely important information or data can be misused by other parties who are not responsible for their own benefit. So that a network security system becomes one of the important aspects to maintain the validity and integrity of data and ensure the availability of services for its users. The system should be equipped with security that allows it to be safe from all kinds of attacks and as well as intrusion attempts by irresponsible parties. With the IDS (Intrusion Detection System) administrator will detect the attack by an intruder so that notification of an attack can be identified quickly through a notification Telegram Sistem IDS (Intrusion Detection System)will provide notification or warning through application telegram if there are attacks on computer networks are detected in the system, so administrators networkable to find out the occurrence of the attack as soon as possible This system can detect attacks that occur on a computer network by scanning a number of sources and traffic that occurs within the network, so that all illegal events can be seen throughactivities monitoring using the application used to monitor the network, the IDS System. This will provide notifications or warnings via the Telegram application if an attack on the computer network is detected in the system, so that theadministrator networkcan find out the occurrence of the attack as quickly as possible.Of the 5 tests that have been carried out 80% successful 20% failed, it can be stated that the test was successfully carried out.Keywords: IDS (Intrusion Detection System), Snort, Telegram , Computer network.

Abstract

In Convertion process to be AC voltage and current, often happens some faults as harmonics. Harmonics effect in Electrical Power System is big enough causes overheated to equipment that has lower impedance. The propose of the research is to design and simulate an inverter to get minumum harmonics distortion values less than 5% as stated in Total Harmonics Distortion (THD). In this case, one phase fullbridge inverter performance uses Selective Harmonics Elimation (SHE) Method and Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) Method. SHE is used to eliminate ordinal harmonics carried by SPWM Inverter. SPWM only eliminates high ordinal harmonics therefore SHE is needed to eliminate lower ordinal harmonics. Determination of switching angle is solved by Newton Raphson Iteration Method. SPWM and SHE are analyzed based on simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK 2016a software. SHEPWM inverter is equipped with LC filter to produce sinusoidal waveform output. The result of SHEPWM with LC filter design in single phase inverter produces 222 VAC ouput voltage and 0,28% of THD. Abstract

Wind Energy Power Plant is a type of renewable energy utilization. This plant has low emissions and is environmentally friendly. The principle of this energy is to convert wind energy into electrical energy with an electric generator rotated by a wind turbine. The problem with this energy is that the output from the generator is not always constant because of the changing nature of the wind. In addition, this generator has a low efficiency value. Therefore, the authors conducted research by designing a voltage control using by DC-DC converter. This voltage control is designed using two buck converters that run the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) based on the Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm and the voltage regulator algorithm which is controlled using the Arduino. The MPPT algorithm is used to find the highest power value in the generator so that it can increase power efficiency. The voltage regulator algorithm serves to maintain the voltage value at 12 volts. This research was conducted with a simulation method that was validated by the tool. In this study, it was found that the MPPT algorithm and the voltage regulator worked well. The overall efficiency of designed tool is 79.43% for the simulation and 43.41% for the actual tool. Keyword : Wind Turbine, DC-DC Converter, MPPT, Voltage Regulator
