Abstract

Research efficiency decreased levels of chloride ion in sea water by ion exchange method which utilitizes clay to do. The results of the initial analysis on the sea of chloride parameter indicates the concentration parameter exceeds the quality standards PERMENKES 416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990. The research uses an ion exchange column with a diameter of 2 inches and a height of 1,2 meters. Media used is sea water of Bengkalis and clay activated with KOH 2 M. Variation used is the flow rate and time of observation. The flow rate used are 140 ml/mnt, 160 ml/mnt, 180 ml/mnt and 200 ml/mnt and time of observation used are 1; 1,5; 2 hours. Concentration of chloride before research is 15.423 mg/L and after processing occurs at decreasing concentrations in each variation of chloride are 278 mg/L - 667 mg/L. This result shows that the ion exchange methode using activated clays are capable of removing of chloride concentration in sea water. Over all, the variation used in this research give effect to decreased of chloride in sea water. This is also evidenced in the removal efficiency of ion is 98,2 % - 95,7 %.Keyword : Flow rate and time of observation, Ion Exchange, Sea water, The activated clays.

Abstract

The area of the Terminal payung sekaki in the future directed by function area of Commerce (business), the ground transportation center and the main entrance gate Pekanbaru city by land for the constellation of the most prestigious regional and city of Pekanbaru in particular. Land conversion happens on the open land into developed regions an impact on the improvement of storm water runoff and impairment infiltration or water storage amount that goes into the ground. Eco drainage is drainage infrastructure of urban areas where rainfall runoff is not directly channeled water receiver but accommodated in the retention pond to provide sufficient time for the water to seep into the ground. Retention pond is designed not only as flood control but also as a place of recreation for the park to be combined with increasing the area of green open space and improve the esthetic value of theenvironment. The completion of this study using EPA SWMM 5.0 assistance program to analyze the suitability of the drainage capacities to cope with the flood problem. The results showed that the problem of flooding due to the capacity of the existing channel with a dimension of 1x1 m not in accordance with the conditions of rain and runoff into drainage capacities with a value of 1.0 or 100% has been filled with runoff that goes into the drainage. Simulation repairs done by using the channel dimensions 2x2 m still not able to cope with the recent flooding. The capacity of the existing line with the percentage Impervius undeveloped land with a value of 85%, 60% and 2% can be maximized by the addition of the retention pond with an area of 2 hectares and a depth of 2 m as well as changes in the dimensions of the channel just upstream (3x3m) and downstream (2x2m) into alternative solutions to problems ofurban flooding in the region. The capacity of drainage channels and retention ponds planned until the 20 years in the future development of the city of pekanbaru RTRW according to changes in the percentages of land be impervius 95% still holds a runoff into drainage channels so that the problem of flooding in the area of AKAP Subdistrict payung sekali can be resolvedKeyword : Flooding, Eco drainage, Retention Ponds , EPA SWMM 5,0

Abstract

Times showed population growth of Pekanbaru city with the development of local economic activities rapidly. Regional regulations of Pekanbaru city had been not adhered mainly by local people by building houses in the drainage canal and river border line. It was occurred in Siak river area, the people were living along the bank of the river and became into a densely populated area, seedy and less healthy. Therefore, it is necessary to design a Flats are able to answer the needs of the community in avoiding density, untidiness and maintaining health. Because site is located on the bank, so the design must be able to adapt to nature and local climate and then the design of this Flats using tropical architecture approach according Lippsmeier. Where tropical condition requires special handling in its design, the main effect is from the condition of high temperature and high humidity comfort level such as the level of cool air at home by draft. In realizing the convenience so then in this Flats design uses the concept of Verticl Garden in design. So that, the Flats can be a dwelling or shelter for the residents as well as more well ordered.Key Words : Flats, Tropical Architecture, Vertical Garden.

Abstract

The improvement of  passenger count in Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport makes the activity in the airport is rising up, so an appropriate parking facility is required and compatible with parking demand. In analyzing of parking demand in Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport, it necessary to know the existing parking characteristic. From the result of  parking characteristic analysis that is parking accumulation, the parking demand can be determined. By using maximum parking accumulation method, obtained the maximum parking accumulation 277 cars at 12.4613.00 Wib and 267 motorcycles at 14.31-14.45Wib on first day of survey, on second day 416 cars at 17.16-17.30Wib and 289 motorcycles at 14.31-14.45 Wib and on third day 369 cars at 17.0117.15 Wib and 291 motorcycles at 14.31-14.45 Wib. Parking duration in this airport is dominated by 0-30 minutes of duration for car and motorcycle in whole survey day. This parking duration classified to short-term parking because under 2 hours of parking duration,  while parking indeks on the first day of survey 87,11% for car and 142,87% for motorcycle, on the second day 130,82% for car and 154,55% for motorcycle and on third day 116,40% for car and 155,61% for motorcycle. The maximum of parking demand identified 416 parking lot for car  and 291 parking lot for motorcycle in  2013. In addition, interview survey to the passengers held with parking survey in the same time to know how the characteristics of passenger trip in Sultan Syarif Kasim II international airport. Abstract

Local scour at bridge pillars that occurs continuously will cause damage to the bridge structure. Many forms of pillar have been developed to minimize local scouring, but yet provide maximum results. Laboratory model has been developed to identify the local scour phenomena on the grouped cylinder pillar by looking at the phenomena with and without pillar protector. The bed of model is using Kampar sand with grain size d35 = 0,285 mm, d50 = 0,330 mm and d65 = 0,380 mm and Gs = 2,63. Three variations of the flow used in this research is classified on the type of subcritical flow with Froude number ranged from 0,46354 – 0,76903. Reynolds number in Fr1 scored 1658,416 then included in the transitional flow and turbulent flow occur in Fr2 scored 3081,683 and Fr3 scored 4381,188. Hjulstorm graphic shows that the granules of gradation used in this research in moving zone. Hydrodynamic flow in pillar causes downflow on the front pillar and wake vortices are formed on the back, so that the presence of these forces will create a horseshoe vortex at the bottom of the pillar. The equilibrium of scour depth against time function occurred at minute 75. The maximum ratio of scour depth (ds/b)  is 2,9 which occurs in Q3P. Pillar protector of curtain type can reduce scour depths  of up to 62,07 %. Sediment transport analysis result prove that the higher Froude number is used the bigger the granules are transported.  Key word  : local scouring, laboratory model, grouped cylinder pillar, hydrodynamic flow, depth ratio.

Abstract

Local scours that occur continuously will cause damage to the pillars of the bridge that can endanger the stability of the bridge structure. Laboratory model has been developed to identify the phenomena of local scour on the oblong pillar with and without pillar protector. Kampar sand with grain size d35 = 0,285 mm, d50 = 0,330 mm and d65 = 0,380 mm and Gs = 2,63 is used in the bed of flume model. Three variations of  flow used in this research is classified on the type of subcritical flow with Froude number ranged from 0,46354 – 0,76903. Reynolds number in Fr1 scored 1658,416 (transitional flow), Fr2 scored 3081,683 and Fr3 scored 4381,188 then included in the turbulent flow. The results of the data analysis showed base granular moves in each test Froude value shown in the diagram Shields. Hjulstorm graphic also shows that the granules of gradation used in this research in moving zone. Hydrodynamic flow on the pillars of the downflow lead and create horsehoe vortex at the base of the pillar which eroded material around the pillar . Scour that occurs started having equilibrium at minute 75 . The maximum ratio of scour depth (ds/b)  is 0,44 which occurs in Q3PL .Pillar protector of curtain type can reduce scour depths up to 28,57%. Abstract

Clays are soft soil which have a low bearing capacity. One of the methods to determine the soil bearing capacity is CBR (California Bearing Ratio). Research on Laboratory for determining CBR value of soil generally performed on condition of optimum moisture content or fully saturated soil. This research evaluates the CBR value of clays with various fly ash contents from OMC to fully saturated. The results showed that, when the soil is compacted at OMC conditions, the effect of saturation resulted will decrease the CBR value up to 67% of CBR unsoaked. When soil is compacted with moisture content above the OMC, increase of water content resulted will decrease the CBR value up to 24%. Furthermore, the addition of fly ash content is effective to improve the CBR value between 20% -25%.  Key Words: CBR, water content, clay, fly ash

Abstract

Cross street is a path Pekanbaru-Dumai in Riau Province's economy to the level of traffic density is high enough. This resulted in increased levels of accident-prone. So necessary to have a public facilities such as rest area equipped with facilities to make it easier for drivers and passengers in motor vehicles are traveling. To respond to the emergence of environmental issues that lead to global warming then encourage green architecture to be a movement in the field of architecture and the built environment to respond to the impact of environmental conditions that occur at this time. Then the existing problems, namely how to design a building that is able to accommodate the rest area needs road users in highway Pekanbaru-Dumai and applying green architecture design strategy according to Allison G. Kwok into the rest area building design. The concept is appointed for building the rest area are earth friendly is the development of the principles of green architecture. The method used is the strategy in the design of green architecture that is envelope, lighting, cooling, energy production, water and waste. So that can be a container for road users who are traveling as well as to reduce environmental damage due to global warming.Keywords: Rest Area, Earth Friendly, Green Architecture

Abstract

Pekanbaru is the capital of Riau province which became one of the provinces whose economic growth is very rapid. From a small economic sector even to business and foreigninvestors are in Pekanbaru. Pekanbaru also has become a destination town of investors both from within the country and also abroad have been widely developed in Pekanbaru. However the facilities and space requirements to support the economy so is slightly. Therefore, the rental office is becoming one of the alternatives for developing the economic sector in Pekanbaru. In the design of the rental office, applied design approach emphasizes the principles of green architecture withthe aim of building that is designed into the building to minimize bad influence on the environment, nature, and human and produce a better and more healthy. However, to support this design is also applied in the concept of "integrated green office" which is a concept with a combination of some ofthe supporting elements of green architecture in the form of orientation of the sun, the air, environment, footprint and also the structure will be a unified in whole of the building. Furthermore by applying green architecture design strategies according to Alison G. Kwok form of: (1) Envelope relating to scoper building; (2) Lighting associated with exposure; (3) Cooling associated with refrigerant; (4) Energy production relating to energy production; (5) Water and waste associated with water using. From all that it will make the design of the rental office building is becoming environmentally friendly, save energy, healthy and also good for the environment, the using and also for the building it self. Abstract

Rokan Hulu regency has so many attractions, including the nature attractions and the religion attractions. One of the nature attractions in Rokan Hulu is the hot spring in Pawan village. But, the condition is so concern because its not maintained well by the society and government. Therefore, the hot spring in Pawan village has re-designed with the new concept to increased the tourism destinations in Riau province, especially in Rokan Hulu. The Hotspring Resort is good alternative object for the hot spring in Pawan village, with tje natural view that support to the resort. One of them, Bukit Suligi, Bukit Barisan view. The design of the Hotspring Resort is forwading the green architecture principle. The aim is to design the building that minimalize negative effect to the environment, nature and human being. So that will build up the better and healthier place. Moreover, the concept of the design is "back to nature" which bring up the harmony between the building and environment. Then, supported by applying the green architecture design strategy of Alison G Kwok, AIA and Walter T, Grondzik PE, which is: (1) Envilope related to envilopment, (2) Lightning related to exposure, (3) Cooling related to refrigerant, (4) Energy Product related to energy production, (5) Water and waste related to water utilization. Finally, the Hotspring Resort will be design of tourism destination which forward the harmonization between the building and environment behind.
