Abstract

A thermal camera can function well in various environmental conditions with low visibility and high contrast. Thermal cameras can be used to identify objects through semantic segmentation. The image obtained by the thermal camera on the Autonomous Electric Vehicle (AEV) can be used to segment the location of cars, roads, trees, buildings, etc. at each pixel. Fully Convolutional Network (FCN)-ResNet-50 is one of the ResNet models that can be used to segment roads. The results of the AEV route segmentation are then used to determine the steering direction. The process takes place by utilizing the OpenCV library to determine the Region of Interest (ROI), changing the HueSturation-Value (HSV) value. This process is used to change the road segmentation to white, while the other segmentation will change color to black. Because the white color has a value of 255, andthe black color has a value of 0, it can be calculated and obtained as a comparison of the values of each pixel of the road segmentation image between the right and left sides of the road segmentation image. From the research results, the guidance system through determining the direction of the steering based on the results of road segmentation using the results of deploying the FCN-Resnet-50 model was successfully carried out through several stages, such as determining the Region of Interest (ROI), changing the Hue-Sturation-Value (HSV) value, etc. The error in giving steering recommendations is caused by the FCN-Resnet-50 model used which still has a lot of segmentation faults. Keywords: Autonomous electric vehicles, Guidance System, FCN-Resnet-50, Steering, Semantic Segmentation

Abstract

In recent years, technology in the telecommunications sector has developed rapidly, especially with the global situation encouraging the use of long-distance communications. One of these developments is the use of the Raspberry Pi, abbreviated as Raspi, as a substitute for conventional computers for receiving and transmitting FM radio signals. Raspberry Pi is a mini and portable computer that can be used as an alternative to conventional computers in general, such as the use of teleconference media, offices, Big Data, and as a video player with high resolution. The problem in using a computer as an FM radio signal transceiver system is its complex and expensive infrastructure. When compared to the Raspberry Pi 3 with a price range of IDR 500,000 - IDR 1,000,000, a transceiver system using conventional computers requires a computer in general at a price far exceeding the said price. Using Raspi makes it easy to transmit FM radio signals by simply coding through the Raspi terminal. In this study, the authors propose a transmitter system using a Raspberry Pi 3B+ which is connected to a dipole antenna at a working frequency of 100 – 101 MHz. Raspi is operated using the SSH protocol for remote desktops. The operating system used is Raspberry Pi OS with the use of a MAC computer (MAC OS) as a remote desktop. The results show that the Raspberry Pi device can be used to transmit FM radio signals at a frequency of 100 - 101 MHz. The dipole antenna tested using VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) with a length of 71 cm and a linear form can transmit a signal with a VSWR of 1.08 - 1.95:1 at a working frequency of 94.9 - 103.06 MHz and a return loss of -28.1 dBm at a frequency of 98.98 MHz.Keywords: Transmitter, FM Radio Signal, Raspberry Pi, Remote desktop, Vector network analyzer

Abstract

PLTD Ampenan is one of power plant that generated by diesel power that located at Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara. PLTD Ampenan has 8 units generators with total power 37.5 MW. Unit 6 of PLTD Ampenan is a synchronous generator with 9900 kVA or 8MW capacity. In October 2019 there’s accident in generator unit 6. After the investigation, winding stator found to be damaged that cause top bar coil part to be short-circuited. Action that taken for this problem is partial rewinding coil to the damaged coil. In this study will be known how to do partial rewinding coil and observe the effect to generator unit 6 PLTD Ampenan. By applying IEEE standard for partial rewinding coil, there’s discrepancy standard when testing polarity index at pra comissioning stage. However, by agreement from user, the progress can continue to comissioning stage with notes voltages that given to generator supplied step by step. After completing all stages of partial rewinding coil, generator stated running well. Based on analysis between output data before generator damaged and output data after generator repaired, the value of voltage, frequency, and power factor tend to be the same like generator before damaged. Current that flowing in each phase declared balanced because the value of coil resistance of each phase did not exceed the limit of deviation from it’s average which is ±2%. While on load power has increased after partial rewinding coil with the same excitation supply. Keywords: partial rewinding coil, IEEE standards, generator repair

Abstract

This study describes the effect of variations in the sleeve fins on polyethylene insulators on the level of leakage current and flashover voltage in dry and wet conditions. This research begins with data collection by testing the leakage current and breakdown voltage at the High Voltage Laboratory, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya. The various conditions used in testing the leakage current and flashover voltage include dry conditions and wet conditions with different wetting rates, namely 10 mL/s, 30 mL/s, and 60 mL/s. Tests were carried out using high AC voltage on three types of insulators, namely type A, type B, and type C. The arrangement of the electrodes used was rods. The results obtained in this study are the influence of the variation of the fin arm on the level of leakage current and flashover voltage. Where the insulator that has the lowest level of leakage current is the type B insulator with the size of the upper fin which is longer than the lower fin. This is influenced by the upper fin of the insulator which resembles a hood, which when wet conditions cause the water not to completely hit the lower fin. Where the greater the value of the wetting discharge, the greater the value of the leakage current and the greater the surface resistance and power losses. This type B isolator has the best resistance because it also experiences flashover at the highest test voltage level. Abstract

Betta fish is one of the ornamental fish that is quite easy to maintain and is one type of ornamental fish that has high economic value and widely sold in the market. To maintain the quality of water in the betta fish aquarium is done by manually changing the water every few days. The life of ornamental fish in an aquarium is strongly influenced by how the water quality in the aquarium.Water quality can be defined by the value of several aspects such as acidity(pH) and temperature. The use of microcontrollers to perform automation and IoT that can be used to exchange information directly by relying on the use of the internet is a solution to the problem of fish owners. Therefore, this research designs an automatic filtration system as well as IoT-based pH and temperature monitoring for a betta fish aquarium using an Arduino Uno microcontroller, pH sensor, temperature sensor, water level sensor, water pump and NodeMCU. Tests are performed on each sensor and device required as well as testing the automation of the entire system. Based on the test results, the pH sensor has a range of differences in reading values against a pH meter of 0.58% to 1.41%, the DS18B20 temperature sensor has a range of differences in reading values against a digitalthermometer of 0.63% to 1.96% and, the HY-SRF05 water level sensor has a range of differences in reading values against a ruler of 1.38% to 6.10%. In testing the water pump using a relay, it can work according to the input given from the microcontroller. Sensor data transmission on smartphones via the internet with NodeMCU intermediaries shows the similarity of sensor readingdata values with smartphone displays. The test results show that the automatic filtration system and IoT-based pH and temperature monitoring for the betta fish aquarium can work as expected. Abstract

The transportations have important role in facilitating population mobility, one of the transportations are the train. In order to decrease mass, speed up the movement, and decrease carbon emission, electrification has been done, so that electrical train was created. Three-phase induction motor is chosen as a mover because of its sturdiness, lack of brush and commutator, and also shock wave. Three-phase induction motor works using induction principle therefore the excitation can be obtained from stator induction to rotor. One of the most important parameters on the transportations is braking. Regenerative braking becomes an excellent option since it can obtain energy from braking process, it converts kinetic energy to electrical energy, in that case the motor act as a generator. It can occur when the slip is negative. Negative slip can be obtained when the synchronous speed is under the rotor speed. The testing to analyze capacitors capacitance for motor excitation is needed before applying to the real condition. The test has been done in two steps, there are noload test and loaded test using dc to dc converter and battery. The result from Simulink MATLAB 2022a simulation shows that the bigger capacitors capacitance, the lower regeneration frequency produced, so that the synchronous speed will be lower, then negative slip will be bigger that can inflict bigger braking torqueand bigger regeneration voltage. Abstract

Hydroponics is a method of cultivating plants without using soil media. Farming with hydroponic media always pays attention to providing nutrient levels that are in accordance with the needs of plants. The purpose of this research is to test a water and nutrient control system using a PID controller with a setpoint of 500 ppm and 14 cm water level. By using a PID controller, the system produces a small steady state error and gets a faster settling time. The PID controller tuning process using the Ziegler-Nichols 1 method obtained parameter values Kp = 8.4, Ki = 0.15, and Kd = 21. From the test results of nutrient control, it was found that the steady state occurred at the 45th second, overshoot 0% and steady state error was 2.53%. From the results of the water level control test, it is obtained that the steady state occurs at the 175th second, the overshoot is 0% and the steady state error is 0.36%.
