Idjen Street Corridor which in its design takes into account the surrounding natural potential and local aspects, needs to be protected and preserved from the current rise of globalization which causes the loss of the character of an area. Currently, several changes in Idjen Boulevard are caused by demands for regional space, changes in people's lifestyles, and the absence of clear regulations in this area. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) approach which examines 2 Landscape Elements (Ashihara, 1996) and the Dynamics of 13 Cultural Landscape Components (Page et al, 1998). The results obtained in this research are that significant changes to Idjen Street Corridor occurred during the New Order Period (1996-1998) with Cultural Tradition as the component that changed the most, as well as Topography; Circulation and Cluster Arrangement which is a stable component. Based on the research results, regulations are needed to control changing components and regulations as a defense for stable components, for future sustainability and resilience efforts in the Idjen Street Corridor area. Abstract

Abstract

Because of the current rapid urban growth in the city of Malang, infrastructure projects like Merbabu Park are necessary. Unfortunately, the park's design and resource utilization are not optimal, diminishing the overall visitor experience. In response to these challenges, the local government has initiated plans to visually enhance the park by installing CCTV systems and improving facilities, prioritizing increased comfort and security. The proposed solution employs a Family Park approach and narrative design, focusing on layout improvements without expanding its physical footprint. To deliver a unique and appealing solution, it is crucial to leverage cutting-edge technology, creative approaches, and contemporary artistic trends. To enhance visitor comfort and security, the renovation of Merbabu Family Park in Malang adopts a Family Park-based design. Upgraded interactive components, CCTV installations, and optimized layouts are among the modifications. The design incorporates elements of the 5 family aspects in futsal areas, outdoor gyms, and relaxation spaces alongside various interactive components. The intended ambiance of optimism, safety, and refreshment is achieved through the use of organic forms, circular motifs, and shading. By implementing these ideas, Merbabu Family Park aims to become a family-friendly and attractive recreational area that ultimately enhances the city's tourism appeal and promotes community happiness and engagement.

Abstract

Kasepuhan Gelaralam is a new traditional village from the previous Kasepuhan Ciptagelar. Kasepuhan Gelaralam still upholds its rice culture. The village move, called ngalalakon, will take place in early 2022. In the tradition of building houses or Suhunan, they have a rule of using naktu (birthday) calculations to determine the direction the main door faces. The direction the door is facing aims to provide safety and keep away from disaster for the residents of Suhunan. The main door at Suhunan in Kasepuhan Gelaralam is the kitchen door because in the kitchen there is a core room called pangdaringan (rice storage place). It is believed that this room is where the Goddess of Rice resides. This article aims to determine whether there is an influence of naktu in accordance with Kasepuhan Gelaralam culture with naptu based on interviews and physical field data from the Kasepuhan Gelaralam community. This research is qualitative-inductive research using ethnographic strategies in data collection and analysis. The results of this research indicate that there is a misperception by the people of Kasepuhan Gelaralam regarding the naktu value of the Gelaralam calendar and the Javanese neptu, so that the direction facing the main door Suhunan in Kasepuhan Gelaralam is wrong. Therefore, the ngaruwat ritual is carried out overtime which aims to cleanse the entire village from danger and disaster. Keywords: Naktu, forward direction, main door, suhunan

Abstract

Studio space is a vital space in higher education buildings, especially in the Architecture Study Program because the process of creativity and in-depth learning of advanced theory is carried out in this space to support the architectural professional education program, namely 4 + 1 years set by the Indonesian Architect Association (IAI). The design of the studio space of the Department of Architecture Building, Faculty of Engineering (FT), Universitas Brawijaya (UB) cannot accommodate all equipment and furniture to support lecture activities based on the description of the National Education Standards Agency (BSNP) that the studio space requirements are 4 m2 / student according to the capacity of the room or a minimum of 45 m2 which can accommodate equipment that can support the achievement of professional competencies set by the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI). Another problem is the limited land and considerations regarding the height of the building that does not exceed the FT UB Dean's Building. In finding related data, the approach used is empiricism based on experience and observation that must be felt and done by the observer himself. In the Redesign results, the R. Studio circulation used is 30% adjusting the standard demands of user physical comfort by making mezzanines on the three floors of the S1 Studio Room so that the height of the inter-floor space becomes 5-6 meters with the aim of supporting 3 studios for 3 classes for 24 hours in one (1) semester of lectures.
