Abstract

Human techniques in manipulating picture are more and more, especially in character recognition. Various types of techniques to manipulate it also has advantages and disadvantages. One technique that is often used is to use artificial neural network. While the recognition technique using the feature extraction is still rarely used.Therefore, an application was made to recognize a feature extraction of capital letters in the image. The technique used is to find the intersection or edge and curvature features from images containing capital letters so that it can be done the recognition of features from such capital letters.Through the test results, has obtained an example of the introduction of the intersection and curvature features stored in the matrix as compared to the basic structure of the letter. Matrix generated from this testing , for some particular font will be quite satisfactory result . But there are still shortcomings in recognizing letters in a font that is not symmetrical.

Abstract

Currently, Petra Christian University Library provides a form for its users to recommend collection. However, this process is still done manually which causes frequent human error and difficulties in processing. In addition, user has not been able to obtain information about the loans status, including the return date and fines, if any. Based on those problems, the authors made a library user module application.This website application is created using Yii Framework and PostgreSQL database. For book collection recommendation system is based on the collection titles of user’s history loans which is processed by Solr application and user’s interest classification. The live chat feature is built using PHP Socket and HTML5 WebSocket.The final result of this application development is users can create a new collection recommendation and view collection recommendation that have been proposed along with its status. Users can also view their status and history loans as well as the book collection recommendations. Moreover, there is a live chat feature as a form of communication media between the library with its users interactively.

Abstract

Currently CV.X in handling technical change requests still use the records in the form of physical documents. Handling of change requests takes a long time and the storage of other physical documents that become additional data change a lot. Without using the system to organize the data will reduce the company's performance.The technical change management web application at CV.X, is an application that can manage technical change data which includes, 8D Report, Engineering Change Request, and Engineering Change Order. This application is made using the programming language HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, MySQL database and CodeIgniter framework. App view using AdminLTE 2 template with Bootstrap.The end result of this application development is the integration of company information in the recording of 8D Report, Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Order. Users can search data and access data that has been made. Users may receive notification of a new technical change request. Based on the results of the questionnaire assessment, it can be concluded that the application has met the needs of companies in managing data technical changes, both in terms of features, delivery of information, appearance, and ease of use in using applications.

Abstract

Distributed and parallel applications are growing rapidly in this modern era, and so are the needs for more compute resources. The emerging solution to meet these needs is cloud system. Cloud is a collection of computers working together as a unified system. The cloud system provides compute resources to users.One type of cloud is private cloud. Private cloud has restricted users, who work in the same environment or company. As needed, the deployed cloud service is an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), where users can request for certain computer specifications with a specific operating system.Computer laboratories in Petra Christian University have computer resources with sufficient specifications that can be utilized to implement a private cloud. The laboratories are not always used for learning classes, thus their resource usage is not optimal. Therefore, implementation of the private cloud is carried out at one of the computer laboratories.OpenStack cloud framework was used for the implementation. Evaluation was done by measuring the performance of the virtual instances and comparing it to that of the physical hosts. The results were used to further determine the benefits offered by the private cloud.

Abstract

PT. X is a distributor of motorcycle that also sells motorcycle parts located in Surabaya. The sales process conducted by PT. X until present is the user come to seller, then makess an order. PT. X doesn’t have a website to sell online so PT. X only has customers around the Surabaya.PT. X has a website that contains about the profile companies and motor cycle products along specification. PT. X using applications ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system based on Microsoft is Microsoft Dynamics Axapta. PT. X initially used with Oracle-based ERP application and in 2014 switched to Microsoft Dynamics Axapta. These application selected by PT. X as in the company using the Microsoft platform that easily integrated with other Microsoft Office and modules contained in Microsoft Dynamics Axapta easy for custom so that it can adapt to needs of company and business processes PT. X.

Abstract

Currently, publication  for events held by committees of Student Organizations at Petra Christian University still uses  conventional media, such as printed posters posted on announcement boards. This causes most of the students unable to see the posters since only some of them are willing to see the posters posted. Another issue is the paper usage for most of the events evaluation process of Student Organizations with relatively numerous questions which makes the students reluctant to answer.  All this time, the evaluation results for the events are not published by the committees. Therefore, only few of the students know the results for each event. If most of the students know the results, this will help Student Organizations’ events be more well prepared.Therefore, the writter made a website based information system to answer the problem. This website has features, such as event publications; event reports; and event evaluations by providing rating, comments, and brief questions for each event. Also, the website is supported with delivering credit points to BAKA server using SOAP, saving videos on Youtube for the events,  saving the events’ photos, showing the highest rating to encourage the committees in making better events, using add location by Google Map, and notifications using phpmailer.From the research and questionnaires which consist of some criterias filled by student organization’s members, the results received are 63% of the respondents give moderate score for the interface design, 100% of the respondents give excellent score for the utility 100% of the respondents give excellent score for website usage; 100% of the respondents give excellent score for the feature completeness; and 100% of the respondents give excellent score for the overall aspects. Thus, it can be concluded that this website is useful, complete, and helpful for student organization’s publications and events.

Abstract

Banyaknya ruangan dan luas gedung pada perkantoran atau mal seringkali menyulitkan pengunjung untuk mengetahui lokasi pengunjung saat ini, menemukan lokasi suatu tempat dan rute untuk menuju lokasi tersebut. Oleh karena itu,  pada penelitian ini dibuat sebuah aplikasi android yang dapat memetakan posisi pengguna dengan menggunakan wireless LAN dan pencarian rute menuju suatu lokasi. Metode yang digunakan untuk penentuan lokasi adalah Fuzzy Logic Indoor Positioning System yang dikombinasikan dengan Location Fingerprinting, sedangkan untuk pencarian rute digunakan Iterative Deepening A*. Metode ini terdiri atas 2 tahap, yaitu tahap offline dan online. Pada tahap offline, dilakukan survey terhadap lokasi yang bersangkutan untuk mengumpulkan data survey, yang berupa data Received Signal Strength (RSS) dari setiap access point yang terpasang. Sedangkan pada tahap online, pengguna mengirimkan data RSS ke server untuk ditentukan posisinya.Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa proses penentuan letak sangat bergantung pada data fingerprint  yang dikumpulkan pada tahap offline. Sedangkan RSS yang merupakan data survey utama, sangat sensitif terhadap kondisi lingkungan. Peningkatan akurasi hasil penentuan letak dapat dicapai dengan menambah jumlah Access Point (AP) dan jumlah Reference Point (RP) yang optimal. Aplikasi ini nantinya dapat dikembangkan sehingga dapat digunakan ketika di dalam gedung maupun di luar gedung.

Abstract

Internet of things in a broad sense makes everything in the world connected to the internet that is connected continuously. The internet of things can control, send data, and so on that uses the internet so that it can be done remotely without knowing distance. The current implementation of air humidity control is still done by feeling directly through human skin and then will do the fogging if the humidity is felt lacking. With the internet of things, it can be implemented to control air humidity remotely through the website. To make the air humidity controller needed a tool such as humidity sensor and air temperature SHT11, microcontroller, relay, sprayer. The website uses the website for the interaction of humidity and air temperature sensors, microcontrollers, or other tools through the internet. This website is used to facilitate users to access the internet anywhere and use devices that are able to open websites. Website created using php. The microcontroller used is WeMos D1 R2 which has ESP8266 in it. The final result of the development of this air humidity controller is that the microcontroller can send data from the sensor to the web server, air humidity that matches the setpoint. Users can view daily humidity and air temperature charts.

Abstract

Toko komputer Infodata Computindo adalah toko komputer yang bergerak di bidang penjualan, pembelian perangkat komputer dan handphone. Toko Infodata Computindo juga menerima jasa reparasi dan install ulang komputer. Toko Infodata Computindo memiliki masalah dalam pencatatan stok dan akuntansinya. Aplikasi ini dikembangkan dan dibuat dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 dan Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 untuk dbms-nya. Aplikasi yang dibuat memiliki ruang lingkup sebagai berikut: proses pembelian, penjualan, pelunasan hutang dan piutang, retur, pencatatan kartu stok, pencatatan transaksi jurnal umum, proses-proses akuntansi dan laporan keuangan yang meliputi jurnal umum, jurnal pembelian, jurnal penjualan, jurnal penerimaan kas, jurnal pengeluaran kas. Hasil pengujian terhadap aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat secara otomatis memproses data akuntansi yang berhubungan langsung dengan proses pembelian, penjualan, jurnal umum, pembayaran hutang dan piutang serta servis. Tingkat akurasi, kesesuaian dan kelengkapan dari laporan keuangan yang dihasilkan aplikasi sangat memuaskan.

Abstract

Development and competition in the University of Indonesia is extremely tight. Petra Christian University is also the University's long-standing and well known to many people in Indonesia. Prospective students would like to see more clearly the form and facilities owned by the University. The difficulties that exist in prospective students who reside outside the island, as it requires large transportation costs if you want to visit Petra Christian University. Based on thisproblem, so in this study will be the creation of applications. This application aims to facilitate students who saw virtually Petra Christian University. Results in this application, the position and shape of the object on the building resembles the original state that existed at Petra Christian University.Barriers time of making a major factor, so it cannot make the building more in detail. The whole room labs and classrooms on the 2nd floor of the building and lecturer room in the 3rd floor already done, there are only a few sections still proceed example at the laboratory assistant room, and a small part.Disadvantages of this application, requires a computer specification high enough to run the application. This is because the memory is generated in this application can be fairly large.
