Abstract

This research are to find out how the preferences and perceptions of Surabaya people againts the national tropical fruits and import fruits based on their economic levels and type of fruits that they purchased. Data that got from questionnaire is tested validation and reliability. And then, the analysis continued with Kruskal-Wallis test and Factor Analysis. The result of this research is Surabaya people prefer to buy import fruits than national tropical fruits. Surabaya people perception of the national tropical fruits and import fruits vary by the level of economy and the type of fruits purchased.

Abstract

PT X is one of the multinational companies in Indonesia that is engaged in consumer goods sector. This company houses around 30,000 employees spread throughout Indonesia. In the past two years, employee turnover has become one of the problem issue at PT X. The average employee turnover rate from 2016-2018 reaches 10-15%. This high level of turnover indicates that relationships between the company and employees are not well established. The company wants to improve this relationship by increasing employee engagement. The thing that needs to be done by the company is knowing the reasons and characteristics of employees first to determine the right employee engagement system/program/….. Reasons for employees were identified by exit questionnaire and analyzed using Pareto and 5 Whys Analysis. The characteristics of employees were analyzed by Chi-Square to determine the relationship of each characteristic on the employee's reasons. The results are then used as a consideration to determine and design employee engagement that appropriate to the needs and conditions of employees. This employee engagement proposal is expected to improve good relations between the company and employees so that trust, loyalty and dedication can be established.

Abstract

This research was conducted to reduce the percentage of sorting and return to the supporting material submitted by supplier PT. FSCM manufacturing Indonesia plant 4. The supporting material that has a sorting and return description will cause product can’t send to the customer. The effort in reducing the percentage of sorting and return can be done by way of analyzing the problems on the supporting material. The methods used in conducting the analysis of the causes is 5 why analysis, searching for every little problems. The results of the analysis will be a reference in making a work instruction and inspection instruction to each process in problems in the supplier. Work instruction and inspection instruction will be through the verification first before being implemented by the supplier. The results of the implementation will be compared with the percentage of sorting and return before the implementation of the work instruction and inspection instruction. The results of this study showed a decrease in the percentage of sorting and return inner box 2,63%, outer box 2,53%, dan packing 0,64%.

Abstract

PT Charoen Pokphand Feedmill Balaraja Indonesia is a poultry feed producer company. One of the main processes in feed production is mixing process which involves mixer machine. When mixing process is running lot of raw material wasted out through the mixer machine funnel. The wasted raw material known as bin has a low selling price which brings losses to the company. DMAIC is applied to solve the problem.Improvement carried out by installing hostaform to cover the gap that allows the raw material wasted out from the mixer machine through the funnel and change the handle position. Result of the improvement is the amount of raw materials that wasted out through the funnel was reduced by 80.02% with cost needed is Rp. 6.109.703,-. The company can save Rp. 442.911.432,-/year by implementing this improvement. Control to the improvement is needed every two months, according to the mixer machine preventive schedule.

Abstract

Wismilak Group is one of the companies that produce consumer good in Surabaya. Cleaning supplier is needed because there are too many suppliers’ database and some of the suppliers are inactive. The company also wants to improve efficiency by making contract with several suppliers. Performance efficiency will decrease the number of suppliers by 113 suppliers. Rationalization of purchases by making contract also succeeded in reducing the average lead time of making purchase orders up to 34%. Purchase by contract also resulted in cost efficiency in the form of saving to P/L of 4% and saving to budget of 10%. Cost efficiency calculations for the purchase of printed goods are done as supporting evidence. The rationalization of purchases on printed goods will result in a cost efficiency of 19%. Rationalization of purchase can cause problems of delays in the supply of goods. The suggestion given is the calculation of safety stock and reorder point for the purchase of printed goods.

Abstract

In 2013 PT. X experienced downtime frequently. Some of the failures that lead to the downtime are broken shaft helical gear, broken fan funnel axle, broken long axle; broken worm, worn down drig laker, and worn down blade. The maintenance strategy in the company has not covered all failures specifically. Thus, this project is Reliability Centered Maintenance Method (RCM) with Dempster-Shafer approach which covers those failures. It was found that condition based maintenance is the best strategy for maintaining each failure. This strategy is easily to apply since the company has implemented autonomous and planned maintenance.

Abstract

PT. X wants to improve the export process delivery by reducing its leadtime. Value Stream Mapping is used to analyze the waste which will have impacts on reducing leadtime. It has been found 11 waste which classified into 3 waste’s type. There were 2 correction waste, 4 processing waste, and 5 waiting waste. There are proposed improvement given to reduce or eliminate waste. There are 5 processes of improvement that has been accepted by the company, and only 1 is not accepted. However, only there are 2 processes improvement are being applied. After the implementation, the leadtime is reduced from 19.895,992 minutes/331,600 hours/13,817 days to 16.510,094 minutes/275,168 hours/11,465 days with the percentage of 17,018%

Abstract

The growth of vechicles is not only in the numbers but also in the brands variation and types. This growth triggers the growth of sparepart’s variation as well. In this study we use data mining and re-order point concept to control the sparepart’s stock in Bengkel X Solo. Bengkel X is a workshop which repairs vehicles and machineries. As the results of this study, this workshop is able to save the sparepart’s budget up to 7% for ten types of spareparts.

Abstract

PT. XYZ has a problem with finish good delivery to the custsomer. The identification of delay is done by analysing one process at PT. XYZ, called Injection Molding Machine (IMM). Based on the result of analysing data is discovered that delay at IMM its affected by 2 factor. That factors is delaying of actual start production and actual leatime that taken longer than basic. Identification of 2 factor that has affected on delay is done by using 5-why analysis. This method is using to find the real root cause of the factors. The result of analysis is discovered that the real root cause of delaying actual start production is causing by the line up of production. While, the real root cause of actual leadtime that taken longer than baisc is causing by the interrupted of other production process, downtime, (mold and process), speed gap and  reject product.

Abstract

This paper discusses the abnormality in dandori process and improvements to overcome it. Dandori is a process of changing mold or material during the production. Lately, dandori process at PT. Astra Otoparts Tbk. still experienced abnormality such as material unreadiness, lack of facilities and infrastructure, and long barrel washing process. This research aims to reduce the preparation time and processing time of dandori and line stop. Quality control circle was used as the main method to design the improvements. Improvements are supported by some work standardizations for maintaining continuous improvements. The implementation of the improvements result in reducing dandori total time by 23 hours per month or 10,7% and average dandori time per process is reduced by 6,9 minutes or 17,6%. Material heating line stop reduced by an average of 15,5 hours per month or 35,8%.
