Abstract

PT Insera Sena is a bicycle assembly company, which has been established since 1989. PT Insera Sena covers local as well as international markets for more than fifty countries across five continents. The company capacity is approximately 750,000 units bicycles per year that can be categorized as road bike, mountain bike, urban, and E-bike. Each type of bicycle has different types of component. Therefore, the variety of bicycle's components is huge. One of the major issues in the PT. Insera Sena is dead-stock. The dead-stock can occur due to uncontrolled variety of bicycle's components, incompatibility specification in bicycle construction due to human error, or other cases. In this research, we propose tools to prevent human error. The proposed tools are an Excel program for checking the parts compatibility for each bicycle specifications and components grouping maps. Those tools are applied by Insera Sena, and indeed they can reduce the dead-stock due to the human error.

Abstract

PT X is a company which is focused on bag and plastic production. The high percentage of rework which is about 25.5% is one of the problems in this company. The purpose of this research is to decrease the rework percentage in PT X Company by using DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve and Control). There are three types of defects that often happen based on Pareto Diagram, which are not proportional shapes, less of needlework and over-needlework.  Fishbone Diagram is used to find the cause of defects which are human factors, method and machine. There are six ways to decrease the higher percentage of reworks such as, making operator evaluation form, making sewing pattern using chalk, making a layer to measure the shape of product, rechecking the product at the end of production process, making a list of working instructions  and changing the needle regularly. By implementing four ways, it can reduce the number of defects which are 6 % on not proportional form and 2.27% on less of needlework. It also increases the percentage of over-needlework detects which is 1.33%. In general, there is a decreasing percentage of the number of defects which is about 6.9% after implementation. Control steps using quality plan, is made as a standard that aims to describe the production process, its name, material and characteristics quality which including types of defects, acceptance, measurement method, inspection period, inspection method, person in charge, and the actions based on quality characteristic.

Abstract

Occupational health and safety are one of important factor which can affect employees’ performance. The risk of accidents will rise if the company does not supervise the regulation of occupational safety and health policy. PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. is pretty concern about this policy with the result of increased employees’ productivity. High employees’ performance will achieve high quality project target. This study uses questionnaire method that filled by construction employees to find the effect of occupational safety and health policy to construction employees performance. The data will be tested with double linear regression and hypothesis test. In addition, the author use simultaneous test (F test) and partial test (T test) for the hypothesis test. The double linear regression test result is occupational health variable has a bigger effect to employees performance that occupational safety. The simultaneously result is F has bigger value than Ftable, that means both of independent variables have a positive significant effect to construction employees performance. Furthermore, the partial test gives bigger T value than Ttable, which describes every independent variable have a positive significant effect to construction employees’ productivity.

Abstract

The purposes of this thesis are designing a planned maintenance and man power planning in the maintenance department of PT X Previously, the PT X used breakdown and corrective maintenance. The maintenance procedures will be revised into corrective maintenance and when continuous production system is executed, corrective & preventive maintenance will be applied. For defining those procedures, first we identified the machines’ failure and redesigned the production system. Additionally, we propose four level of man power planning based on their skill and company management want it divide into four level.

Abstract

PT.X is a company that working on Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) section. This company has more than 100 selling area that located in all over Indonesia. There are various selling system or distribution system in this company and one of them is Pre Order system (PO). The vehicle types that used for delivery on this system are blind van, Colt Diesel Engkel (CDE), and Cold Diesel Double (CDD). The purpose of this research is to discovered route optimitation so it can shows how many vehicles are needed for the delivery. It also can decrease the operational cost for the delivery. This route optimitation simulation is based on the existing route but it had been optimized with arranging the delivery using the Nearest Neighbor Insertion (NNI) concept where the delivery route will be using the shortest route. This PO delivery system also using the combination of Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (VRPTW), Vehicle Routing Problem with Heterogenouse Fleet of Vehicle (VRPHFV), and Vehicle Routing Problme with Multiple Trips (VRPMT).The result of this simulation is the total number of vehicles that can be decreased in one week are 34 unit. In Bogor, Ciracas and Pulo Gadung, 1 unit of vehicle can be removed for Senin until Thursday (1*4*3=12). In Sunter, there are 3 unit of vehicles that can be removed for Monday until Thursday (3*4) and lastly in Tangerang there are 2 unit of vehicles that can be removed for Monday untul Friday (2*5=10). The distances that should be taken are decreased from 9,604 km to 8,028 km with total duration 1372,01 hours when it actually should be taking 1484,3 hours. The reducing of distance and time become a great additional benefit for the company because the company can save more fuel that can also reduce the polution of CO2. For the saving of the cost in this simulation is from Rp. 948,017,052.66 become Rp.797,589,503.62.

Abstract

PT E-T-A Indonesia is a manufactur company that produce electricity component such as circuit breaker and switch. As a electricity component maker that trusted by well-known brand all over the world such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and also Airbus, quality is a must-have key in every single production activitiy. There are some defect problem that occurs in every production segment frequently. In order to reduce defect number, root-cause analysis skill is needed whereas most of production staff doesn’t have enough skill to analyze the root-cause problem. The improvement of root-cause analysis skill is using DMAIC methods. Its begin with Define phase where all of the problem that happens are defined including quality characteristic of their products itself. The next phase is measure phase, the defect problem that happens in 1170 and 1180 from January until March 2014 are measured and counted into as a data in this phase. Analyze phase is a next-step phase where the main cause of the main problem are analyzed conscientiously, in this case, the main cause is founded, that is incapability skill of analyzing the root-cause of a problem in 1170 and 1180 worker. The next phase is improvement phase, the worker of 1170 and 1180 are trained with the right quality tools in order to make an root-cause analyze in case another problem happen. Evaluation of these improvement is monitoring the worker skill to do root-cause analyze correctly. Evaluation is a final phase that called control phase in this final project.

Abstract

Continuous Improvement (CI) in PT. X’s Human Resources (HR) department has already been started for almost 2 years. However, HR didn’t have any mechanism to measure how good a department in doing CI. Moreover, a new way to increase employees’ spirit to contribute in CI by creating improvement ideas is also needed. HR CI Performance Model and Recognition & Reward Scheme are created as a measurement mechanism and to boost up CI spirit in HR. HR CI Performance Model is developed until two times to describe the current condition more appropriately. Recognition & Reward Scheme is created by Balance Scorecard theory. Both of these measurements can increase the amount of created improvement ideas by 25.3% and department participation by 22%. Additionally, some of managers and staffs also acknowledge the positive impacts of both of those measurements.
