Abstract

PT Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia (PMI) is one of the pioneers of the most successful electronics industry at local and abroad. One of the existing Business Unit (BU), Audio BU, is always doing improvements, especially in the PQA section where productivity improvements always done. This research by analyzing invisible loss time or not realized by the company at Final Assembly 5 with PDCA approach. The total detected were 22 items loss with the estimated total loss time in July as many as  2,680 minutes with estimated P/H/H 6.64. Improvements succeeded in reducing loss time by 1,574.99 minutes with P/H/H increasing to 6.72. These improvements have also been successful saving cost of Rp 2,910,859.26.

Abstract

This research focuses on improve the sampling system and QC line performance review at PT. X. The data required for this research are standard weight data of component, weight standard per component lot, and observation time data owned by QC operator. This data will be processed to find out the number of samples in accordance with military standard and the number of labor shortages or time required. The number of samples corresponding to the military standard is 315 - 500 pcs / lot and the minus time is 4 hours. Suggestions can be given is to add labor to QC or by changing jobdesc from other division operators.

Abstract

 PT. XXX has applied Health Safety Enviroment system, but still experienced relatively high level of accidents. The accident number was up to 11 out of a total worker of 390 in 2014. PT XXX would like to decrease to zero accident so as the production process runs smoothly.The method used in this problem was Behavior Based Safety. BBS method provides training for the worker to behave safely. This method gave good results in that all processes had an average of 80% safety behavior. BBS changed many dangerous behavior to become safety behavior, but there is still a dangerous behavior that cannot be changed.

Abstract

Penulisan Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan untuk merancang sistem PPIC produk Air Minum Dalam Kemasan PT  X. Hingga saat ini, PT X masih belum memiliki departemen yang mengurus masalah PPIC. Peramalan dilakukan oleh Divisi pemasaran, pengaturan jadwal produksi diatur oleh Divisi Produksi.  Perancangan sistem PPIC usulan pada tugas akhir ini meliputi peramalan, pembuatan MPS, pembuatan MRP, dan perhitungan lot sizing. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa metode peramalan menggunakan Winter Multiplicative memberikan tingkat kesalahan yang lebih kecil dengan menggunakan MAD sebesar 828,32 untuk produk G 240 ml, 150,1 untuk produk G 330 ml, 791,83 untuk produk G 600 ml, 892,9 untuk produk G 1500 ml, 893,7 untuk produk G 19 ltr, dan 24.556,3 untuk produk N 220 ml dibandingkan kondisi awal. Metode lot sizing usulan juga mengakibatkan penurunan biaya sebesar Rp 19.904.205,96 pada pengadaan material perusahaan.

Abstract

This research is originated from a problem of low efficiency level that happened in SINBA production line at PT Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam (PT SEMB). Method used for this project is called waste analysis. Waste analysis is a step of analyze to find what kind of waste that actually happen, in order to find any proper improvement to reduce that waste. Observation has been made and the result was showing that the source of the problem is on the work cell layout and ineffective ways of set-up. Many waste happened due to excessive invaluable movement and long set-up time (movement waste and set-up waste). Improvement and solution has been proposed to remove the movement waste. Improvement result showed that efficiency has increased by 4.35%.

Abstract

PT. X is a company that processed log wood into timber products with size, type of wood, and the shape of the profile are produced depends on the buyer’s order. The company needs the process with a machine that can work continuously without any obstacle in order to meet the demand. Moulding machine in PT. X has downtime with an average 13,22% which the company want to reduce it. The main cause of downtime on the moulding machine is the changeover and breakdown. How to reduce changeover time is by using the method of Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) and reduce frequency and time of the breakdown by making preventive maintenance schedule based on the MTTF value. The proposed improvements to reduce changeover time is doing some activities before the machine stops, making a new storage for tools and ring, and do the parallel changeover. The proposed improvements using the method SMED when applied can reduce changeover time with an average decrease in time estimation of 33,26%. Preventive maintenance schedule on the moulding machines based on the simulation results within a year can reduce downtime due to breakdown with an average of 57,55%.

Abstract

This research was conducted at CV X, an aluminum distributor in Surabaya which determines the quantity of ordered goods only by estimation. The fulfillment of inventory is determined by the owner of CV X, considering the fluctuations in aluminum prices and inventory in the warehouse. Ordering goods always done in excessive quantities. It makes the items in the warehouse pile up. This research uses ABC classification, ROP, and EOQ which consider the price fluctuation. The result of EOQ and EOP will be an input in the information sistem. Information sistem are designed to be able to calculate the new EOQ which taking price fluctuation into account. The proposed method produces a greater value of efficiency and a decrease in total.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a manufacturer and produce a heat excahanger. The production process at PT XYZ takes over two production area that is creating component production and line production. The problems that happened PT XYZ is in the area of line production is about the many operator activities that not effective or as a category waste. Waste that happaned on the line production is waste transportation and waiting. An improvement that can be done to remove both waste is by using those method design facility layout and work time measurement. The facility layout design method used to decrease the movement of goods from 258 meters to 180 meters, decrease also happened to the cost of the materials handling from Rp 63,936 to Rp 41,688.

Abstract

In this work we applied Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for reducing raw material inventories’ cost in PT SEMB PEL. VMI is implemented for 40 of 6679 parts in this Final Project. The result shows the implementation of VMI can reduce actual lead time from 65% to 95%. This lead time reduction causes inventory cost reduction for 30 parts towards the target.

Abstract

Sales in PT. X shows a good trend, sales increase from a year to year. Increasing sales can decreasing raw materials in warehouse. Actually, capacity in warehouse is full and over limit. Raw materials from suppliers can not be hold in racks. PT. X needs tool that can help supply chain team and warehouse to control the actual condition in warehouse. That tool can show the utilization rate of warehouse and make improvement to increase utilization rate of warehouse. Actually, utilization rate in warehouse is about 32%. That is shown by Warehouse Nervous System that can monitor daily space in warehouse. Some findings can cause low utilization rate. It can show the actual space based on supplier and commodity view. If it is seen by supplier view, there are 35 suppliers will be company focus and there 8 commodities that will be company focus. It is because they use 80% space in warehouse. The actual space can be compared with planning on current month. It can more helpful, if it can be implemented into a program.
