Abstract

Sinar Sindra Pratama is one of ocean freight services for destination areas,such as NTT, Maluku, Borneo, and Irian Jaya. Sinar Sindra Pratama always improves its systems to satisfy their customers. The problems are customers’ arrival is not in line with the schedule and without notice. The purpose of this research is to improve the system of order fulfillment in this company. The proposed improvements are the system for confirmation and the system for receiving goods.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety plays a crucial role in all companies or oganizations. The Indonesian Regulations of Occupational Health and Safety have been embroidered on UU No. 1 of 1970, which have been explicitly applied in all the Indonesian companies or oganizations. HIRADC is often used by management to resolve the issue of Occupational Health and Safety. HIRADC is divided into three parts: Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control. HIRADC, which is annually reviewed and updated by the management, discovers and controls the potential hazards that exist around the working environment. It goes in line with OSHAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004.

Abstract

PT. Surya Putra Barutama is a company that produces trucks and the others heavy equipment which Dump Truck as their main product. In order to maintain the customer’s satisfaction on supplying a good quality product, the company has obtained ISO 9001:2008 in 2009. It shows the company has implemented a good quality management in accordance to the guidelines of quality standards. During the production, the company has the objective to produce a good product and having less number of defects to the product. However, the fact shows that the defect rate is still relatively high and even exceeds the standards and tolerances specified. This study aims to determine the quality plan  for each processes by using statistical tools that are useful to control the level of defective products. The results of the Pareto diagram analysis shows that the priority defect are Over Painting (63%), Dirty Painting (60%), Uneven Paint (51%), Rough Paint (43%), Less Paint (29%), Power Take Over (53%), Porous Welding (45%), SpakBoard (39%), Less Welding (26%). The next step is to find the cause of the above defects with cause and effect diagram. It results that the cause are derived from human factors/worker, working methods, materials/raw materials and work environment. The company can take these causes into consideration on applying the Quality Plan. Quality Plan describes the quality characteristics of each process and department have standards and tolerance limits. Quality Plan also describes how the inspection and work procedures. Tub Assembly Quality Plan, SubFrame Assembly Quality Plan, Component Assembly Quality Plan, Painting Quality Plan and Finishing Quality Plan has been prepared to improve the quality planning systems and reduce the amount of re-work at the finishing stage. Preparation of Painting Quality Plan is included with the Painting Work Instructions.

Abstract

The research was done at a manufacturing company that processes wire nails. The problem always happens on the operator of installation belt parts and there is many plastic tie unused. One of them usually unable to work, because they have to wait for the proccess of input a nails into cardboard and removal cardboard boxes. The company wants a better system improvement with an ergonomic approach. The design work plan for this company can be done with an ergonomic approach analyzed through anthropometric data, standard time, and standardization work. The results obtained by design work tool, with two table proposals. For small packaging nails that can reduce the workload through the reduction of effort expended by 9561.6 Joule. The recommendation for the large packaging nails, obtained a scissor lift and one a table that could also reduce the workload through the reduction of effort expended by 457.39 joules.

Abstract

PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (PT TMMIN) is the largest manufacturing company in the automotive sector in Indonesia. PT TMMIN as an exporter has exported 3 types of products, that is cars, engines and car components, and spare parts with Toyota brand. One of PT TMMIN's export activities is Component Part Order (CPO). PT TMMIN has developed and created a new system called CPO New System which functions as a tool to facilitate the process of handling CPO orders. The process of making CPO New System is divided into 2 stages. The first stage has been developed and has been implemented. The second stage of making this system cannot be done yet. The development of this system is hampered due to the delay in the process of handling CPO so that repairs need to be done. The provided solution is to create a user friendly dashboard and make an Excel Macro to shorten operator work time. The expected results from the implementation of this improvement are that the CPO handling process runs smoothly and there is no delay in the process. Another benefit obtained by PT TMMIN is a decrease in working time by 46,2 hours per month so that worker productivity can increases.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai keputusan terbaik yang dapat dilakukan oleh seorang suplier yang memproduksi pakaian dengan peritelnya dalam memilih antara kontrak buyback dan revenue-sharing. Suplier memasok pakaian kepada peritel secara make to order. Kedua belah pihak diasumsikan mengetahui harga jual pihak lainnya, dan setelah 4 bulan peritel ingin segera menjual seluruh barangnya yang belum terjual agar peritel dapat lebih dinamis dalam mengikuti tren pakaian di masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian adalah mencari keputusan terbaik antara penerapan kontrak buyback dan revenue-sharing yang akan diterapkan menggunakan teori yang dikembangkan oleh Zhang. Pemilihan antara kedua kontrak tersebut dilakukan dengan membandingkan nilai cycle service level dari sebuah produk yang akan dibuat kontraknya dengan nilai critical ratio threshold dari pihak suplier. Suplier akan cenderung memilih kontrak buyback ketika cycle service level lebih kecil daripada critical ratio threshold, dan akan cenderung memilih kontrak revenue-sharing dalam kondisi sebaliknya. Keputusan yang diambil juga berhubungan dengan penentuan harga pembelian kembali oleh suplier atau fraksi pendapatan yang dibagi peritel kepada suplier. Hasil simulasi penerapan kontrak buyback menunjukkan bahwa suplier dan peritel dapat meningkatkan ekspektasi keuntungannya hingga 7,24% dan 8,13%. Hasil simulasi penerapan kontrak revenue-sharing menunjukkan bahwa suplier dan peritel dapat meningkatkan ekspektasi keuntungannya masing-masing hingga 8,22% dan 4,08%.

Abstract

PT. X is one of the leading furniture and also only exporting its products. One of the desire of the company is “To be one of the market leaders of furniture industry”, while the vision of PT. X is ” Producing high quality with reliable design”.This factory is currently running the system of health and safety work  in the factory area. However, the improvement is still need to be done by minimizing potential risks with HIRARC(Hazard Indentification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control). The result shows  47% of activities are considered as low risk, 36% of activities are considered as moderate risk, and 17% of activities are considred as high risk. There are 4 activities categorised as high risk that must be considered which are sawdust that is inhaled by an operator, member of the body missing, member of the body and exposed side off wood that isn’t neat.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with highest potential disaster in the world .Some disaster in Indonesia resulted in displaced communities. National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) as Indonesian disaster management agency providing emergency shelter for refugees. Problems that arise are refugees have to stay in the emergency shelter for long period of time which should only as an emergency only. This research aims to design a temporary shelter as a bridge between emergency shelters to permanent housing. The design begins with finding the voice of customer (VOC) by way of interviews and news from various media. Results VOC mapped in House of Quality (HOQ) and used as a reference in the design of temporary shelters. Results from this study is the design of temporary shelters and prototype.

Abstract

Management system at powder warehouse in PT X still has many problems within. Improvement in management system needs to be done to overcome that problem. The difference between actual product’s amounts and the record, unscheduled planning production, and unorganized warehouse layout are the problem of this company. Improvement for the record of actual product inside warehouse is done to match the record of administration record. This process would be necessary to reduce the gap in stock opname process. MPS can be use to determine the ideal time and the ideal amount of total production for company, so that the inventory cost could be reduced. The result of MPS could reduce the inventory cost in amount of 48.8%. Inventory turn over in the warehouse became better. The day sale in inventory was reduced from 14 days to only 6 days.

Abstract

Hapete is the best and most complete thread manufacturer in Indonesia. This company applies make to order production strategy.  This production strategy makes the Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) Division, the one who make the production planning, must have the efficient planning strategy. The program that PPIC Division use this time doesn’t really efficient, because of the big memory of the used program. The use of macro and Visual Basic Application (VBA) will reduce the memory of the program. The analyzing that has been done is comparing the memory between the new program and the old program. The old simulation program has 4657 KB as its memory, while the new program has 558 KB as its memory. The old planning program has 7969 KB as its memory, while the new program has 297 KB as its memory. The old monitoring program has 2906 KB as its memory, while the new program has 101 KB as its memory. The guide book has been made for further development of the program, which will make the easier development process for the program.
