Abstract

Design Interior for Futsal Stadium’s Lobby, Café and Retail in Surabaya is based on the reality of futsal in Indonesia is the most popular sports among the society but only for playing with friends and spend the time during weekend. In fact, futsal is less exposed in terms of professional competitions and achievements of the Indonesian National Team that has a good potential by achieving to the top 10 of Asia region. With these facts, futsal should get more attentions and supports from the society, by build a Futsal Stadium. Furthermore, Futsal Stadium could possibly become city icon and attract the urban society attentions towards futsal. This design aims to support the stadium facilities in order to be able to hold the competition up to the international level and to increase the enthusiasm of the society towards futsal, because with the more support from society, we hope that it might improve the achievement of Indonesian National Team.

Abstract

Nowadays lifestyle rapidly increases especially in the fashion industry. This makes many entrepreneurs start their business in retail fashion industry. The high competition demands entrepreneurs should have strategies in order to attract consumers' interest, one of the ways is by redesigning their window display areas. Therefore, a system is needed to be applied in window display area design with the emphasis on practicality in assembling. To achive this, the design requires observation, literature study and trials. As the base of the working process, this design applies the David Kelley’s design thinking method which done through numerous phases such as empathise phase (early phase), define (determining phase), ideate (ideation phase), prototype (trial and error) and test (the application).This design has 4 choice of categorized sets which are bag’s category, footwear’s category, clothing’s category and mix category. The applied system of this product is a modular system that has ease of assemble for the users. This design has the advantages which are the various different forms that can be created from modules in each category, as well as the budget cost which is affordable for fashion store entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This research aims to interpret datas related to the profile study of Barata Sena who is a designer of furniture art. Wood is a fundamental material for Barata Sena's creative process. Woods that tend to be neglected by logging or woodworking fields such as hollowed, moldy, cracked, and curved woods are considered as a defect. For Barata Sena, that is not a problem. Everything born by Mother of Earth is natural things because in his creative thinking, whatever flaws of the trees, the problem is just how to integrate his intelligence into his cooperation with those tree trunks. The basic problems in this research are how the complete profile and philosophy in producing artwork furniture of Barata Sena and how the embodiment process of Barata Sena’s furniture artwork. The author uses qualitative descriptive method by doing in-depth interviews with the designer and documentation related on the field datas, such as masterpieces photos, interview result of Barata Sena with Bulan Soerbadjati, and internet source about Barata Sena. The design method used by Barata Sena is adjacent to the biomimicry design method, which inspiration comes from nature. The result of this study identifies the complete profile of Barata Sena and reveals Barata Sena's philosophy in his work and the process of it. In the process based on the main philosophy that "no wood is not good, every wood has the potential to be raised", there is the vision and spirit of design and process design method including creation and denial method which give new way of thinking for design learner in generating creation.

Abstract

Tiffani Meymorisa is one of the young designers in Surabaya that is growing to meet the needs of fashion which has become a trend for the community lately and in accordance with the budget and with regard to the improving marketability of design as well as business potential with their supporting facilities. Therefore, a place where designer can sell their design to the public and meet the need of fashion with provided facility is needed. The existing interior problem is that the space is not adequate, such as less facilities, cramped and mixed work space, no room for special fitting, less space for storage, poor lighting at dusk, main entrance is not welcoming the customers, so a solution is needed by designing a supporting interior and facilities that can welcome and give the quality impression of the designer, giving the facility to be able to develop his work to be more recognized by people of Surabaya in accordance with the target market, provide comfort and ease in working and visiting. The concept is taken from the problems and the character of the designer, Tiffani Meymorisa. Elegant fashion design concept by Tiffani Meymorisa is also the concept for the interior design by lifting the concept of “Elegancy of Vogue”. Characters from Tiffani Meymorisa itself is applied to shapes, colors, and the atmosphere in the room. This design maximizes the application of Tiffani Meymorisa characters in each facility and its design, so that people can feel that the design quality of Tiffani Meymorisa is different with other designers.

Abstract

Surabaya is currently developing the creative fashion industry. In order to accommodate fashion people, an organization called Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) was established in 2015. IFC has created many creative programs and activities, and also contribute to small business (UKM) development in Surabaya. However, IFC has not had a permanent facility that could accommodate all their activities. Therefore, it is necessary to design a local fashion center "Indonesian Fashion Chamber" that intend to maximize facilities for fashion activity and bring more benefits to various parties. The design concept is "Idyllically Flexible in Character", which aim to create a beautiful, simple, and natural design, that focuses on design's flexibility in doing changes or adjustments to various activities while sticks to the characteristics of IFC.

Abstract

The world of hobbies has been rapidly growing in big cities in Indonesia, including Surabaya. One of the hobbies currently developing is collecting model kits. Kikunori Shinohara a professor of neuroscience from Japan, stated that building a model kit could  stimulate blood circulation in the brain which increases one’s intelligence. From some held gatherings, activities involving model kit are usually held in local mall. To address this phenomenon, it is necessary to create a space containing all activities mentioned above and it is expected to provide a one-stop facility for model kit from the need for information and providing any hobby equipments. This space is also expected to make Surabaya an attraction to the world and to enhance human resource potential as well as economic potential.

Abstract

Furniture Multifunction “Daily Treats” Surabaya   is furniture that can be optimize need in the process of making fruit salad in daily treats. Design furniture is based on the needs and the user activity during a process of making salads and sales the product. chosen furniture multifunction as a style of design because it could reduce in size / space furniture in room and will be optimize needs , In addition with designs functional will help much activity users of furniture in a more comfortable and fast. Design methods used is design thinking, which is by observation, analyzed data, And the facts related to the needs and the pattern of the activity of users As the basis for start to design furniture multifunction that is needed by Daily Treats Surabaya. Furniture of design is using the geometrical shape , arch and streamline that can make so comfortable , safe , clean and eye- catching. And finishing materials used also safe for users and food made.

Abstract

Ludruk as a traditional performing art of East Java is often considered as an old, abandoned culture in Surabaya. However, there is one of ludruk group that still survives, named Ludruk Irama Budaya Sinar Nusantara Community. In order to preserve ludruk, this community performs every week and trains youngster. In order to achieve this purpose, this community needs a platform to maintain ludruk as Surabaya’s authentic performing art. The theme is inspired by the spirit of the community to preserve ludruk to its vision and mission which is existence, innovation, and regeneration. This concept of existence is applied to centralized organization of spaces, homey atmosphere, naturalism character, and self-service system. The concept of innovation is applied to the use of technology and multifunctional space. Meanwhile, the concept of regeneration is applied to an open space and easy access for everyone. With this design, the existence, innovative, and regenerative ambience is brought to live by everyone who enters the platform.

Abstract

The increasing modern life requires people to keep working. Not all environments brings positive impact, but also negative impact, one of them is Sick Building Syndrome. SBS is a health nuisance that relates with a person's duration inside the office building. Putting plants into rooms is one of the SBS solution. But the plants' existence may also cause new problems for the working space. It requires a solution which is able to put plants into a room without cutting a lot of spaces, by adhering to the values of health, efficiency and effectiveness. As basic workmanship, the design thinking by David Kelley adopted into several stages which are initial stage (empathize), determination stage (define), idea finding stage (ideate), trial stage (prototype), and implementation (test). This design has 3 sets of irrigation system, which are independent irrigation, irrigation by user, and watering by others than the user. This third system is intended for ease and efficiency to users of related furniture. Besides, its preferred for the health value which want to be achieved with the presence of plants.

Abstract

Indonesian Reformed Evangelical Church Kertajaya Branch in Surabaya is one of the growing churches, both physically and spiritually. This church has a very simple and plain room design, does not have adequate storage facilities, especially in secondary worship room for teenage and youth and the sunday school rooms. Through the process of searching data, analyzing the needs of users, finding solutions to the existing problems, and applying everything that has been collected into a design. A design that can provide a good place and means of worship so that worship can work well and the faith or spirituality of the church can be built on the correct foundation of the truth of the Bible and the Lord Jesus Christ. And as a contribution of interior design ideas for GRII Kertajaya that will do the development. Eventually can be evaluated for better results.
